for him, the waves carried all his grey and empty thoughts.
he used to love them; the freedom they carried.
he didn't really know how many hours he spend once in a while, sitting at the shore of the beach, admiring them and their greatness as they gently reached out to him and took all the noises away.
for him, the waves were his companions.
they never asked for anything in return, they never spoke too much or too little, they never drained him.
they never minded him nor his silence.
they accepted him as he was, and he found comfort within them.
jaewon met a wave on the shore. someone around his places, at a restaurant, in university, he was everywhere.
every path he chose, lead to jihyun.
and when jaewon told the waves about his new companion, the jealous waves tried to take him out of jaewon’s path.
it was almost as he revealed too much to a stranger, when the waves pulled jihyun into the deepest of the sea.
he wanted to share, to give a part of him to someone else. but jealous as the waves are, they came and went and decided to take that part of jaewon with them, drowning it as deep as they could.
jaewon used to love the waves. he felt like home at the sea.
but lately, he feared they might drown him in too far away from his other half.
that dangerous piece he freely handed to jihyun.
he was afraid of the jealous waves. the darkness, that sucks you in and never wants to let you go.
the jealous waves that he once admired so much, now where haunting him in his dreams, embracing jihyun around their dark blues and greens.
they are the nightmares that kept jaewon awake for nights and days.
they are the nightmares that took jihyun away from him.
the jealous waves he once loved so much, he wished he could drown them now with his own bare hands.
