Kissing it better

Summary:

Soap gets hurt, luckily for him Ghost is right there to kiss it better.

Work Text:

"Ah shite!" Soap exclaims as he spits out his coffee, a loud clang echoing through the small kitchen of Ghost's flat, where the couple is spending their leave, as he drops the steaming mug he was holding.

At least he was standing near the sink and didn't get boiling coffee all over himself. Small victories, he supposes.

Simon all but rushes into the room, eyes scanning his surroundings for potential threats. "Johnny? You okay?" He asks the man who's frantically switching between fanning his mouth and rinsing it with cold tap water.

"Burned my tongue..." the scot turns to his lover and answers, the muscle in question sticking out of his pouted lips, puppy eyes on full display.

His heart is still racing from adrenaline, its hard to shake reflexes you spend over a decade forming, but his eyes soften at the sad look of his boyfriend.
He hates to see John in any kind of pain, even something so small and trivial.

"C'mere." The taller man holds out his arm in invitation. Soap has never skipped an opportunity to get his share of attention from Simon, and he definitely doesn't plan on starting now. He goes immediately, resting his arms around his waist.

Simon cups Johnny's face and gently strokes his cheekbones, the look of adoration clear on his face. Some days he still can't believe he's lucky enough to be loved by the man in front of him.

"Let me see."

Soap's eyebrow twitches up in confusion for a moment but he obeys and sticks out his tongue. It looks a little red, but it's so mild it probably doesn't even really hurt anymore.

Simon leans in, and plants a peck right on his tongue.

"There. All better."

If the puppy eyes from a moment earlier were gripping his heart, the look Soap sends him now is more than enough to completely make it melt.

Tongue still peeking through his lips, Soap almost has literal hearts in his eyes.

The arms around Simon's waist tighten, and Johnny surges up on his tippy-toes to give him a proper kiss.

They both melt into it, enjoying these domestic little moments they can steal away from base.
