Work Text:
“Achoo!” A sneeze comes from the little golden dragon.
“Judith, when you sneeze you have to in the tissue.” Penelope says, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“Sorry mama..” The little one said apologetically with eyes that seemed to cast a spell on Penelope. This child is able to get whatever she wants by a simple look in her eye.
Suddenly, the door of Judith’s chambers bursts open.
“Your Majesty we still have a lot of wor-“ Cedric’s voice is no longer heard when Callisto closes the door in his face.
“Callisto?” Penelope says surprised.
“Daddy!” The still tired Judith sounds almost energetic when she sees her father.
A smile appears on the tired emperor’s face as he nears his family. He places a soft kiss on Penelope’s forehead as he sits down next to her.
“Seems little Judith is clearly very sick. She never calls me dad no matter how much I ask.” Callisto points out, leaning forward to flick the small child’s forehead.
Penelope lightly smacks his hand, “It seems she has a severe fever and bad congestion. She’s been drowsy ever since she’s woken up. She’s also very hot.” Penelope leans her hand on Judith’s small forehead.
“Where’s a wet rag? And a glass of water?” Callisto says, questioning the absence of items that would aide in Judith’s recovery.
“She’s downed 5 glasses already, the maids are busy getting more water. The wet rag is being replaced at the moment.” Penelope says softly leaning her head on Callisto.
“Did you take her temperature?” Callisto says as he starts stroking Penelope’s hair.
“You doubt me so much.” Penelope looks up at him with a smile.
Callisto sighs and watches as Judith falls back to sleep quickly. Judith had been very healthy growing up but every once in a while she would fall very ill.
As they stayed there watching their little dragon sleep peacefully, a maid came in with more water and a cold rag.
They left shortly after, leaving the emperor and empress to take care of their precious daughter.
Penelope and Callisto made small conversation as they took care of Judith in her slumber.
Unfortunately, the lack of sleep over the week caught up to both of them and they feel asleep in Judith’s room that night.

“Now that you’re getting better, you should eat some fruit Judith.” Penelope said, picking off a grape.
“Mmmm I want cake mama…” Judith whimpered as she clung to her mothers arm.
Penelope sighed. “How’s this, as soon as you’re better and healthy, you can eat cake, hm?”
Judith’s face brightened, and she immediately picked a bunch of grapes and shoved them in her mouth.
“She looks like a chipmunk.” Callisto commented as he peered up from a book. He was reading something about natural remedies.
“Stop insulting our daughter Callisto.” Penelope said, glaring playfully at Callisto. He smirked hiding a small laugh.
Eventually, Judith managed to eat what Penelope believes to be at least a pound of grapes. Determined the little chipmunk is just to get a slice of cake. Penelope smiled playfully at the thought.
Nearing the end for the day, Penelope kissed Judith’s forehead and started to tuck her in for bed.
“Mama..?” Judith whispered as her droopy eyes focused onto Penelope.
“Yes honey?” Penelope said smiling at the cute little thing.
“Instead of cake, I want something else.” Judith said as her eye opened more widely and a smile started to appear on her face.
Callisto’s attention seemed to be caught at Judith’s words and he turned to look at her.
“What is it baby?” Penelope questioned, patting the blanket over Judith’s small body.
“I want a sibling.” Judith said, then closing her eyes to soon drift off to sleep.
Penelope froze, she could hear Callisto start to snicker behind her. Along with that his footsteps started to near her.
Before she knew it, Callisto picked her up and lifted her into his embrace.
“Well, we have to listen to the ills wish.” Penelope’s mind went blank as she slowly processed what Callisto said.
Too late, already being carried to their bedroom is when she finally got the hint.
“Wh- Callisto- put me down-!” With Penelope’s face very flustered she started to hit Callisto’s shoulders to get out of his hold.
“Ow- Relax Princess- I’m not actually going to-!! Ow-!” Callisto gently put Penelope down as his shoulder started to bruise.
“Hah- I swear.” Penelope said, sighing as she was put down.
Callisto smirked and started to laugh as he entered their room.

“I think Judith’s finally better.” Penelope said with a breathe of relief.
“Does that mean I can have cake?” Judith said expectantly, completely forgetting what she asked for instead a couple nights ago.
“Yes, you can have cake.” Callisto said, ruffling her hair.
Judith smiled, and after finally learning their little one is healthy again, the two were left to tackle what was known as the work that built up in the past few days.
