   Summary

   The nurse is at his side again. "Your foreigner's back," she says, touching his shoulder lightly.

   Ogata turns his head, although there's nothing to see. He thinks he can hear hobnailed boots on the hospital floor, but some of the wounded soldiers could be up and walking around.

   "Who are you?" he asks. "Why didn't you let me die?"
