"Naruto!! Get back here when I get my hands on you!!" Izumo or Kotesu yelled at my charge. Honestly I could never tell which one was which.
"You crossed the line this time Naruto!!" The other of their duo yelled. "Naruto!!" All the while he was laughing his ass off. Scoffing softly I teleported to right outside the classroom, and walked inside. "Hi (Y/N)!" My friend spoke loudly, well friend is putting it nicely. I only really spoke to her to keep up appearances.
Sitting down I saw Iruka-San walk in with Naruto tied up behind him.
"I'm at the end of my rope Naruto. You failed the graduation test last time and the time before that. Tomorrow you got another chance and you're messing up again." Naruto simply looked away, sighing I crashed my head into my desk.
'Lord Hokage why did you assign me to this mission...?' Looking up slowly when I heard everything go silent.
"(Y/N) did you just...?" My friend, Maizey asked.
"Yep. And ow..." Did it really hurt? No. But did I have a part to play? Yes.
Iruka-San looked at me with concern in his eyes. "(Y/N), are you alright?"
Giving a thumbs up I nodded laying my head back down.
"Good. Then, because Naruto missed it everyone will review the transformation justu." Most of the class groaned saying things like 'awe man' and 'this is your fault Naruto!'
As we started the test I zoned out listening for my name. I was right beside Shikamaru, and honestly? If I had the time for it? I would admire his looks or his brain but I don't so that sucks. Jolting for a Kunai when I heard yelling I zoned back in. "Cut the stupid tricks!! This is your last warning!!" Finally hearing my name I didn't even walk up I simply transformed. Without hand signs yes but I transformed. Into my Anbu self but they didn't have to know that, my Anbu self was relatively tall, and an adult, because I didn't want people to know that their captain was a child. The transformation had short black hair, with a rabbit mask on. "Uh good, yes good." Transforming back with a sigh I went to my seat.
At the end of the day I stood on top of the Hokage heads watching Naruto and Iruka-San. In my Anbu form of course. Watching but not listening. Suddenly I saw Naruto look up, go to speak, and then stop. Pointing to me he blinked confusedly. "Hey! Iruka-Sensei! Who's that?!" But by the time Iruka-San had looked I was gone. Well not really, I had just moved to sit beside him. But this time with my mask off and I was wearing the regular Jonin outfit.
"So, this is the Naruto I've heard out?" I spoke softly, so only Iruka could hear me. To which I got a nod before he continued speaking to Naruto. Once Naruto was sufficiently distracted, Iruka turned to me.
"So what's your name? I haven't seen you around."
"(A/N) ((An: Alias name))"
"I'm-"
"Iruka Umino. I've heard about you, you're doing good with the kid. Wanted to let you know. I have to go now." Once I stood I bowed slightly, and disappeared. Landing in my apartment I transformed once more. Face planting onto my couch I groaned exhausted. "Now to go see Hokage-Sama. Apparently I have another mission tonight."
Timeskip. Next morning.
I groaned walking right into the door as Iruka was speaking.
"-begin-" Looking over he raised an eyebrow. "(Y/N). Good of you to join us."
I gave a thumbs up, "sorry I'm late sensei. A black cat crossed the road and I had to take the long way." I snickered softly, deciding to copy my old teammates saying. Which caused Iruka to deadpan.
"Just go sit down." Doing as I was told I went and sat in the only open seat, besides Kiba. And his cute dog. Grinning softly I waved at Akamaru. 'I could totally become friends with this boy, just for this adorable pooch.'
"Now as I was saying. We will now start the final exam. When you're name is called proceed to the testing room. The final test will be on The Clone Jutsu."
Grinning wider, I wondered how I should do this to stay perfectly average. Unlikely lord Hokage would all me to be put on a team without Naruto though. I sat up slightly stretching waiting to be called.
When Naruto went in I knew I would probably be next.
I was usually called last anyways, my clan some big shot or something I guess.
"Delone (Y/N)!" Iruka called into the room.
Walking in I smirked. "Sup'?"
"Begin when you are ready."
I once again did no hand signs, four clones showing up. Not the clones they were looking for but, I was never particularly good at the weak clone jutsu. So I worked with Shadow Clones.
"You pass." Iruka smiled, "good job."
I grabbed a hand band. Walking out I froze when I was grabbed on my shoulder, breathing heavily I turned. "Yes?"
"May I have a word with you?" Irukas gaze softened seeing how his sudden grab made me freak slightly.
"Sure, I'll follow you."
He lead me back to the classroom nodding. "(Y/N), why did you always hold back in class? I know you're a lot stronger then you let on."
"Ahhh, well, being more then average is the worst but so is being less I stuck to the middle of the pack." Not to mention orders from lord Hokage to not stand out.
"Well I hope you'll apply yourself fully on your missions to come."
With that I waved leaving, a small blush on my face. 'Goddamn it- I know better then to get attached. Fuck, why'd I have to get the cliche crush on my teacher?!' I huffed softly. Before following Naruto's chakra signature, transforming and staying to the shadows I watched him silently. Hearing the two women angered me slightly yes, but I could not show myself to him in my Anbu form. So I watched, silently. Following him when we went with Mizuki I hid in the shadows watching for any danger. Hearing what Mizuki told him though? Naruto would surely get killed for that, potentially by Mizuki himself. I decided to stick with him, since my orders are not to leave his side unless necessary. Like to pack for a mission or when asked to talk to my teacher.
Watching him struggle to learn the shadow clone jutsu sucked. I knew if I could help him directly he would be so much more talented.
"It's all over" Iruka laughed, he was clearly disappointed.
"Caught me already? Not to bad. You're quick sensei. I only had time to learn one jutsu." Naruto laughed as he spoke as well.
Jumping closer as I felt a chakra signature closing in.
"Listen Iruka-Sensei! I'm gonna show you this amazing jutsu and you're gonna let me graduate then everything will be okay!" He spread out his arms smiling widely. "That's the way it works right? Anyone who learns a jutsu from this scroll passes!" And he flapped his arms slightly.
Irukas eyes widened, "huh? Wh-where'd you get that idea?"
"Mizuki-Sensei told me about it! Believe it! He told me where to find the scroll and this place..." Naruto trailed off seeing Irukas angered face.
"Look out!!"
I jumped down blocking the kunai, taking a single scratch to my face, chuckling coldly I smirked. Running my thumb over the bleeding scratch lightly it healed with a light green glow. Some blood on my thumb I wiped it on my mask, adding another red line. Their were only nine lines on my mask after all.
Looking back slightly, not fearing Mizuki I checked on Naruto and Iruka quickly.
"You found our little hide away." Mizuki spoke, creepily.
"So that's the way it is. Huh?! I should have known!"
"Naruto! Give me the scroll! Now!"
"Wait a minute!" Naruto seemed freaked, I stood in front of Iruka, seeing as he did in fact end up taking a kunai to his arm.
"What's going on here?"
"Naruto! Don't let Mizuki get the scroll!" Iruka threw the kunai in his arm away. "It contains forbidden Jutsu that can put this village in grave danger. He used you to get the scroll for himself. For his own power."
Naruto growled slightly, backing away.
"Do not worry. I will get it back to its rightful spot." I went to grab the scroll, Naruto glaring and jerking back.
"Naruto, Irukas just trying to scare you cause he doesn't want you to have the scroll."
"Stop lying Mizuki! Don't let him trick you Naruto!"
I sighed. Going to Iruka, guess while they talked I had time to heal him at least.
"Thank you." He spoke softly which only caused me to blush! Goddamn you Iruka!
I nodded, looking back at the two talking.
"Oh I'll tell you who's really lying."
"No! Mizuki!"
"They've been lying to you your whole life Naruto. Since the decree 12 years ago."
"What... decree?"
"Everyone knows except you. Irukas trying to hide it from you even now. He'd do anything to shut me up." Except he can't because he's being healed and it's taking forever.
"What is this decree? Why does everyone else know about it?"
"Don't tell him!! It's forbidden!!"
"The decree is no one can tell you that the nine tailed fox is inside you! The fox spirit that killed Irukas parents and destroyed our village and has taken over your body. You are the nine tailed fox."
"Stop it!!" Iruka strained forward.
"Stop moving I can't heal you properly." I sighed, I seemed calm, was I though? No absolutely not!
"They've all been screwing around hiding it from you your whole life. Didn't you think it was strange how they treated you? Like dirt! They hated you! Rejected you! For being alive!"
Naruto tested up yelling, "No!! No no no no!!"
"That's why you will never be accepted in this village! Even your beloved sensei hates your guts!"
I turned towards Mizuki after speaking, "I'll finish healing you when I'm done."
"Die Naruto!!" Mizuki threw one of his big shrukiens at him.
"Naruto!! Get down!" Iruka yelled as a shot forward covering Naruto with my body, my teeth chattering slightly as the shrukien pierced my back, blood flowing down. Slowly opening my eyes to look at Naruto and Iruka in their eyes, I saw a glow of gold. 'Fuck my Kekkai Genkai activated.' I slowly pulled out the large bitch stuck in my back.
Iruka and Mizuki gasped Iruka had jumped in front of Naruto. Guess I jumped in front of him.
Naruto seemed showed "huh..! Wh-why?"
"Gosh ki-kid," I coughed up blood slightly, throwing the shrukien on the ground. "Orders I guess." I breathed heavily.
"Or-orders? What do you-"
"Can't talk about it sorry ki-kid." I groaned turning around to face Mizuki. Iruka gasped in shock. Guess it was pretty bad.
Naruto suddenly ran off, good. Less work for me.
"Naruto!! Narutoooo!!" Iruka screams.
Mizuki jumped down facing me laughing, "you know once he makes up his mind nothing can change it. He's going to use the scroll to take revenge on the village. You saw that look in his eye didn't you? Those are the eyes of a beast."
"No! Naruto isn't like that!" I looked back, Iruka having picked up the shrukien and throwing it at Mizuki who simple dodged.
"You're both a joke. As soon I eliminate Naruto and get the scroll I'll be back for you." With that he jumped away.
"Iruka. Go get Naruto. I need to heal up." I sat down breathing heavily. Putting back hands on my back.
Getting a nod in return he ran off as well.
"Lord Hokage if you're watching, what am I kidding you are watching, just please don't remove me from the guard post the little guy needs it."
Once I caught up I saw Mizuki on the ground looking beat up, and Naruto had a headband on! Chuckling softly I bent down to Iruka, finally finishing up his healing. "All better."
"He-hey uhm, masked guy? What's your name?"
"You can call me Rabbit." I gave a peace sign. Iruka gasped softly, clearly he knew who I was.
Passing Iruka my extra one I waved, disappearing.
