Shen Qingqiu liked to consider himself a well-rounded person. Academically, he was at the top of his class, never getting a grade below 95%. Although he wasn’t the most athletic, he could put up a good fight during a game of dodgeball. Looks-wise, Shen Qingqiu thought he was about average. Not horribly disfigured, but not attractive enough to attract any romantic attention from girls. It wasn’t that it particularly bothered Shen Qingqiu that he didn’t have anyone chasing after him, but rather that he didn’t have enough time to put any effort into romance.
However, his friend and underclassmen, Luo Binghe, seemed to think differently. Despite Luo Binghe and Shen Qingqiu being on two completely different sides of the Cang Qiong social spectrum, they became close friends fast after Shen Qingqiu defended Luo Binghe when he had been accused of trying to steal another first year’s girlfriend. Following the incident, Luo Binghe had started to treat Shen Qingqiu as if he was an angel sent to earth just for him. He also seemed to think that Shen Qingqiu was his owner, and he was a big fluffy dog. He often complained about how Shen Qingqiu needed to “open his heart to romance,” and how he needed to “blah blah blah love is the best blah”. Shen Qingqiu found it absolutely ridiculous that Luo Binghe was telling him these things. If Shen Qingqiu was as pretty as Luo Binghe insisted he was, Luo Binghe must be divine!!
Before Luo Binghe started his second year at Cang Qiong High school he suddenly had a growth spurt and went from Shen Qingqiu’s little white lotus to a woman magnet. Despite the fact that every single woman at Cang Qiong high school and the entire country of China had tried to ask him out, he rejected them every time without fail. It was completely mind boggling how he could spew out words of romance to Shen Qingqiu when he himself had managed to shut down any interest in him!
“Shen Qingqiu!!!”
Shen Qingqiu glanced up from the trashy-cliche-appalling-insult-to-all-respectable-literature web novel he was reading on his phone.
“Are you reading another horrible romance?” Luo Binghe asked, sitting in the seat directly next to where Shen Qingqiu was sitting.
Luo Binghe seemed to think for a moment before breaking out into a mischievous grin. He set his head down right on Shen Qingqiu’s shoulder without a word, prompting a sigh from Shen Qingqiu.
“Binghe…..”
Luo Binghe looked up as if he hadn’t done anything wrong.
“What would your fangirls think!!!!!!!!!! If you keep up this behavior everyone’s gonna think you’re gay!!!!” Shen Qingqiu internally screamed.
Before he could finish his sentence, his phone buzzed in his pocket. He reached in and took his phone out.

Shang Qinghua usually @-ed him in the most unusual and disturbing posts he could find so Shen Qingqiu thought nothing of it. He didn’t even wanna begin to know how Shang Qinghua ended up on the freaky side of twitter. He clicked on the notification and was brought to a twitter account he had never seen before.
“Cang Qiong Confessions,” he mumbled aloud to himself.
As soon as he mumbled those words, Luo Binghe made a sound. A muffled and shocked “MMPH!?!?”
Immediately Shen Qingqiu’s eyes shot up to Luo Binghe at the sudden noise.
Luo Binghe’s face was bright red. Not the kind of blush you do when your older brother starts threatening all your friends when they come over, but the kind of blush you do when you trip and fall on your ass in front of your crush. Luo Binghe was bright red from the tips of his ears all the way down his neck. Wordlessly, he got up and ran out the room.
Shen Qingqiu made a face of confusion, but Luo Binghe was a strange child. Maybe he forgot to turn the shower off after he used it or something. After chalking Luo Binghe’s sudden exit as just Luo Binghe being Luo Binghe, Shen Qingqiu directed his attention back to his phone.
He started scrolling down. None of the confessions were too notable. Of course, the majority were about Luo Binghe, and the occasional Liu Qingge.

Shen Qingqiu, I love you
Shen Qingqiu stopped dead in his tracks.
“What the hell.”
No way this was real. This had to be a joke confession. He couldn’t think of anybody who would harbor any sort of feelings towards him besides platonic. Immediately he felt a warmth from the tips of his ears. But he couldn’t help but think, what if it wasn’t fake, what if he somehow managed to get someone to fall for him without even knowing what he was doing. Somehow, he didn’t feel too perturbed by the idea. Maybe Binghe was right, maybe at some point he should find someone special. Maybe this anonymous person could be his special someone. If they truly did love him, then how hard could it be to love them back?
Shen Qingqiu had made up his mind. Who knew when the next time he’d find someone that would actually love him would be? He was determined to find out who this secret admirer was. And the first step to figuring out who this secret admirer is, was to see who commented under the post. Maybe they’re hiding in plain sight.

Definitely not the comments he wanted... nor expected…. He didn’t know who these people were either!!!! Not to mention he didn’t even know Liu Qingge had a twitter account in the first place!
Shen Qingqiu felt confident enough to consider the comments a dead end. Now it was time to turn to the biggest gossip rat he knows. There is absolutely no way that leech didn’t know anything about this account. Thus, Shen Qingqiu stood up and pushed his chair away, determined to find Shang Qinghua. Surely, he’d find his answer from Shang Qinghua!
