Work Text:
Nancy presses her lips to Robin's cheek, brushing a hand through her hair. "You did so good, baby. You're amazing."
Robin hums happily in response, still dazed and flustered from cumming, her head fuzzy and her body tingling. "You did too," Robin tells her beautiful girlfriend, eager to please even in her bleary state. She moves to sit up, to try to kiss her beautiful face, but her hands tug against the cuffs pinning her hands to the headboard. "No, get these off." She pouts up at her girlfriend, nose wrinkling. Nancy's an angel. The way her fluffy hair bounces with every little movement could kill Robin, hands down.
It would be a whole lot nicer if the movements were anything but looking for the keys, but she can't have everything. She feels like she's been smacked awake, her floaty feeling vanishing in an instant. "Nancy. Nance, what are you—"
"Relax, Rob, I know they're around here—" she hops off the bed, kneeling down out of Robin's didn't. "Around here somewhere…"
A minute passes, then ten more, and Robin is beginning to panic.
"I'm gonna be stuck here forever."
"No, you're not, I'll find the key—"
"I'm gonna freeze to death. Or die of hunger."
"No, you're not. Even if you were stuck, which you're not, I could feed you and get you blankets and stuff."
"Nancy, what if I have to pee—"
"I'm going to find the key! Calm down!" She opens a drawer and slams it closed, pacing awkwardly. Nancy gets to maintain a shred of post-coital dignity, she's wrapped herself up in a fluffy robe, but Robin is still bare.
Nancy curses, freezing in her spot. "Shit."
"What did you do."
"We're late for movie night."
Robin barks out a hysterical laugh, hands tugging against the metal as she does. "How are we gonna explain this? Eddie is literally never going to let us live this down."
"If I get you out now, we can just say we got stuck in traffic." Nancy strides back over, inspecting the cuffs and giving them a gentle tug. "... They're not that solid. I bet I can cut through the chain, and you can just— you can wear long sleeves. Sound good?"
"No!"
"Well, it's the solution we have, unless you want to be stuck here forever."
Robin groans in annoyance as Nancy grabs her pliers from the top drawer, squishes and crushes the chain of the cuffs so it snaps in half when she tugs it. Robin uses her newfound freedom to shake her arms out, wincing at the cuffs slip around her wrists and the way the chain flops around. She casts a glare at Nancy, and stands up silently to go get ready, resigned to a life in (broken) handcuffs.

And despite their efforts, Steve just has to notice immediately. First, he makes note of the so called "weird energy" between Nancy and Robin. They get that way sometimes, when they're not quite fighting but not a happy couple either, and sweet Stevie Beevie always notices. He's super protective of Robin, so when she takes her usual seat next to him, he wraps an arm around her and shoots a pointed glare at Nancy. Naturally, when he moves to take her hand, he notices the bump under her sweater sleeve. "... What the hell?" He gently pulls up her sleeve, concern on his brow. "We agreed no kink at movie night."
"It's not that," she's quick to clarify, rubbing her forehead with her palm. "It's not a kink thing. I mean, it is, it was, but then Nancy lost the keys—"
"Woooow, blaming me, real mature—"
"I'm sorry, how exactly was it my job to keep track of a key when I was chained up and blindfolded—"
"You just didn't need to blame me in front of our friends!"
"You guys know these things have a quick release, right?"
The arguing pair fall silent, processing Eddie's interjection. Robin raises an eyebrow. "A what?"
Eddie snickers as he leans over, pressing down some clicky little levers. "Ta-da!" He exclaims, as the cuffs fall off and drop on the couch. "Yeah, they have failsafes. C'mon, you think you're the first person ever to lose a key?"
Robin looks at Nancy, then at her now free wrist, and burst in to laughter. A smile plays on her girlfriend's lips.
"So we were arguing about nothing."
"Not a damn thing!" Robin laughs until her face is red and she has to chug a glass of water, and then settles, leaning against Steve and throwing her legs over Nancy's. Nancy rubs her thigh with a hum. It occurs to her after about a minute of actually watching the movie to ask, "How'd you know that?"
"Oh, we lost our key months ago. Steve was stuck for like, three hours until we figured it out."
Disasters, the lot of them.
