Mind stared at the young CJ, sitting at the end of his driveway, waiting for a bus that Apollo knew in hindsight, would not come. Mind always liked looking back on old memories, they were happier, even if it didn't feel like it at the time. He watched CJ tap his foot on the gravel road anxiously, wondering where his bus was, it had been 10 minutes already. Mind sighed.
Heart appeared next to him, curiously peering at the bright blob ahead of him, who they assumed was Mind.
"(What'cha doing?)" Heart asked, tilting his head.
"[Looking back on the past.]" Mind responded, their gaze focusing on Heart.
"(Ah. Where are we?)"
"[Bus stop, Winter of 2014.]" Heart nodded, staring ahead, trying to see anything past the darkness of his blindfold. Emphasis on trying.
"(...Why this memory?)" The Moon asked, tilting her head.
"[It's normal. I miss moments like these, back when nothing was happening, when we were one.]" Mind replied, his breath tainting the frosty air white. CJ's face contorted in frustration and he stood up, deciding to just go home and face his parents' wrath.
"(Y'know... We weren't Whole. We just thought we were.)" Heart commented, hearing their footfalls on the road.
"[I know. It's nice to think, though.]" Mind commented, watching the younger Soul walk back home.
