The OC is named after a real person, because it was the first name that came to mind. For those who don't know, Ada Lovelace is widely considered to be the first person to write a computer program, though the "computer" in question (the Babbage Analytical Engine) was only theoretical. I sincerely doubt she'll ever show up again.The song Roy is humming is, of course, real; the lyrics I've posted at the beginning of the story are from my preferred version of it.
I strongly suggest you read through chapter 6 (uh, or 7 as it's automatically counted) of The Path of Flame before reading this story, as this is set the day after the events of that chapter.
