   Summary

   "You don't have to live like this, Maddie." Buck pleads.

   "Evan, you don't know what you're talking about." She continues to fold her clothes neatly into the dresser drawer but Buck can see her eyes filling with tears.

   He pushes off of the door frame, finally entering her and Doug's room for the first time. He catches sight of a picture frame on the dresser. His sister's smiling face on her wedding day, her husband holding her hand in his. He's suddenly filled with a hatred he can't describe.
