Summary
Detective Dick Gumshoe has arrested more than a few people in his short career so far: suspects, criminals, particularly unruly witnesses; all of them— no matter how big they talk or how much they seem like they might fight back— shut up pretty quickly once Detective Gumshoe brings out his handcuffs. Useful as the trick is, sometimes he wonders about it. He's not sure what exactly it is about the handcuffs that has this effect on people, but he's also pretty sure he'd prefer not to get arrested to find out.
So it's lucky for him that one late Friday afternoon he finds himself handcuffed to the leg of Prosecutor Edgeworth's desk, and he doesn't have to get arrested at all.
