Rugged beast

A woman’s soul
An empty place
All black and dark and bare
A single touch
Connection prime
A glance across a room
Tiny pups
All love and light
No time for lurking gloom
A feeling then
True bubbling hope
Something more to share
Battle yes
But puppies, too
