[Fic+Podfic] Delicious

Summary:

Jean’s preferred method of seducing boys is being very, very annoying. Surprisingly, it works on Tibet.

Or:

Cruising for a gay hookup in the bathroom of your tiny hellhole of a school while navigating your potential hookup's possible internalized (or not) homophobia and also some very specific mood preferences you happen to have: a guide by Jean, an expert.

Now with podfic!

Notes:

Podfic added as promised! There's a version with all the notes if you want to skip to that. It didn't quite work out the way I hoped with the voices, but I'm still glad I made it.

This is set the night before the start of term/the duck assignment. It's not really clear if there's an extra night between running away and the ducks, but I say there is, and this is what happens.

The title is based on this moment from episode one which has been driving me crazy since I noticed it, because who does that???? Actually I'd say half of my characterization of Jean is based on that. The kinkiness is based on other events in the series that could definitely be interpreted differently, but I'm standing behind slightly sleazy in-your-face confident gay!Jean.

Also, please note that the use of 'baby' here is not an equivalent or translation, it's 'baby' in English in the middle of the Thai, which I got the impression is kind of too much and obnoxious.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Jean is still lingering at the bathroom counter, looking through the various bottles of product lined up there, when he hears the last shower stop. He smiles to himself and turns on the hair dryer, going back to drying his already half-dried hair.

Tibet emerges from the shower room wrapped in a towel, and Jean doesn’t look too much, just small glances through the mirror. He even looks away when it seems like Tibet is about to start changing, even though he can tell that he’s going to do that changing under the towel thing like a baby. It’s okay, Jean can wait.

And sure, he was hoping, but it’s still a nice surprise when he finally sneaks another glance and catches Tibet looking at him.

Jean turns off the hair dryer and turns around, throwing the towel off his shoulders and casually leaning back on the counter. "See something you like?" he taunts. He probably sounds way too smug, but whatever, smug is a good look on him, and hopefully smug means his delighted smile doesn't look mean. It wouldn't do to start off looking mean, because you can never be sure with a boy like that. So many of them get offended by even the slightest suggestion they might be attracted to a boy.

Tibet just gazes at him blankly for a long moment, and then turns away without replying.

Annoying, but honestly Jean commends his self-control. "Hey, don't be like that,” he coaxes. “There's nothing wrong with looking at a boy! It's the modern era, isn't it?" That’s always the trump card when you want them to feel bad about getting offended, because homophobia is for old people, don't you know.

"Who's looking at you?" Tibet grumbles.

Definitely him, but Jean isn’t going to say that. A possibly-self-identified-as-straight boy is a delicate creature and should not be directly contradicted. Instead, he smirks and explains a truth he is well acquainted with. "When you're trying that hard not to look, it's not that different from looking, is it? It means you caught a glimpse and are dying for another."

Tibet continues dressing.

The clock is ticking and Jean really wants to move this along. "Come on, Tibet, we have twenty more minutes and nobody's here. If you admit you were looking, we can have some fun together."

Tibet is still not reacting, buttoning his pajama shirt and looking at the wall above the row of hooks. That happens to also be where the clock hangs, but that is surely a coincidence, Jean thinks with a silent chuckle.

Finally, Tibet sighs loudly, only half turning. "I don't look at people while they dress, and neither should you,” he says. “It's creepy."

Jean raises his head and stares at the ceiling demonstratively. "There, I'm not looking at you. But I'm not dressing, so you're free to look as much as you want." Which is true. He put on his pajama pants earlier, but his shirt is still folded on the bench and he is in absolutely no hurry to put it on. He smirks and flexes subtly, tilts his head attractively. He's got this, he can feel it.

Tibet strides towards him suddenly and loudly, and Jean lowers his gaze just in time to be crowded into the counter. Tibet seems hesitant to touch him, but he places both hands on the counter, caging him in, so that's a win.

"If you’re that horny,” Tibet growls at him, “I can do you a favor just this once,” and oh, that is nice. “But if I catch you creeping on anyone here, I'm never touching you again."

Jean wants to tease him for that, because what’s the point of the threat if it’s just this once, but if he does that, Tibet won’t try it on him again, and he doesn’t really want that. And anyway, there’s something even more delicious there that he can’t ignore.

"Oh, Tibet," he says softly, sweetly. "Who would I creep on if not you? Aren't you the tallest and most handsome guy here?” He lets the moment hang for just a bit, and then jerks his head and frowns as if he just had a surprising thought. He leans forward, maintaining intense eye contact and for once holding in his smile. “Oh, wait, you're not, are you?"

Tibet pushes him back by the shoulders, hard, even though he barely has anywhere to go. "Stay away from Nai!" he snarls. Actually, literally snarls. Amazing.

Jean lets himself grin as wide as he really wants to. He knows he’s won, and he is going to enjoy this.

"Your buddy can take care of himself, baby.” The endearment just slips out, but it’s fine, he can get away with it at this point. He’s already in. “And if he has a problem with me, well, he can come at me. I'll let him get a couple of punches in," he finishes with a smug little eyebrow lift just to drive the point in. He really would let him. Nai can step on him. And Tibet can—

Tibet kisses him.

It's a short but forceful kiss that makes Jean gasp. But he recovers quickly, a pleased grin spreading across his face as he leans back and widens his stance until Tibet towers over him.

"You better not pester me about this later," Tibet warns.

Oh, yes. "You say the sweetest things, baby," Jean tells him, this time on purpose. And then he grabs Tibet by the neck and pulls him down for another kiss.

Yep, just as he thought. Delicious.

Notes:

And then the very next day Jean bullies Pennueng and pushes Maki and he and Tibet have a little stare off which ends very fast. Is it because standing so close reminds them of last night? Very likely. :D

Clearly this is going to go very wrong for them very soon, between Jean bullying Tibet's friend and both of them not knowing what they're doing, so hopefully I can write something about that and post it as a sequel in the series. If I don't get any major personality traits jossed by the coming episodes, that is. I'm doing it as a series and not as chapters in a single work because they might have different ratings and as a result also an added archive warning, and I think this one stands on its own for those who need or want to avoid that.

The Thai Drama Works series is a monofandom alternative to an author subscription, treating Thai dramas as one big fandom. I would be glad to hear about it if you subscribe through that, if you feel comfortable telling me, because there are no stats for that, so if you don't tell me I'll never know!
