"Ena! Hurry up already! You've been getting ready forever!"
"Mizuki, I told you. I'm almost done."
"Well you said that 10 minutes ago..."
"Makeup takes time. You of all people should know."
"Yeah but...I wanna go already."
Ena let out a loud sigh due to Mizuki being very eager to go where they wanted. This always happened between the two whenever they went out together.
"Alright fine. Just shut up and we can leave."
"Yay!"
"...How are you so enthusiastic in the morning..."
"Because unlike you, I actually get sleep!"
Ena grunted at Mizuki's smug face while grabbing their hand to go out. Mizuki was taken off guard and was practically dragged the entire way out the door.
"W-Woah, Ena. Slow down!"
"You were the one who said we should go. So, let's go!"
"E-Ena..!?"
While still holding Mizuki's hand, Ena started to run and laugh. Mizuki's eyes lit up and they too, did the same. They stopped to breathe after they ran for who knows how long.
"So, what's with me being enthusiastic?"
"I only did that to wake me up."
"Then why was I dragged along? And why were you laughing?
"To not leave you, of course."
"Hm? You didn't answer my question completely!"
"....Just to make you feel better, I don't know."
"Oh my~ Ena being nice to me? Is the world about to end~?"
"I hate you..."
"Nah, You love me!"
Mizuki wrapped their arms around Ena's right arm while giving her a peck on her cheek. Ena accepted the kiss, but didn't say anything. The two continued their path with Mizuki still attached to Ena. Deep silence grew over them. Until...
"Mizuki..."
"Hm?"
"Can we not do this in public...? I feel like I'm being watched."
Mizuki stopped a bit before giving Ena a short answer.
"Aww, I thought maybe people could see how beautiful my girlfriend is, but if you insist."
"Thanks, Mizuki."
"Of course."
Mizuki let go and stayed by Ena's side. Ena didn't mind being physical, but it wasn't always her first choice when it came to affection. Which was pretty ironic considering she gave Mizuki a whole lot of it. She just wasn't comfortable being with Mizuki in public in case people from school, or just anywhere, would say something.
"Where was it you wanted to go to again?"
"Oh it's my sister's shop! She's grown her business so much that she was able to get a shop her in Japan. Especially since the school she went to didn't like her designs. They called them "radical" and how she wouldn't ever find work. Thankfully, she found a French school that loved her designs!"
"Woah. You're sister pretty successful."
"Yeah! I'm so proud of her. She's improved a lot..."
Mizuki almost stopped in their tracks before tilting their head down a bit. They weren't used to all the progress that their sister was making. They thought as if they were in the same situation and spot.
Ena noticed this.
"Hey...I think you've accomplished big things. You've gotten this far. That's enough, for me anyway."
"...I'm really glad I have someone like you, Ena."
"And I'm glad I was able to claim that title."
The two walked some more until they finally reached Mizuki's sister's shop. Mizuki's face lit up and so did Ena's. The outside was very pretty. The two looked at eachother and ran in.
"Ahh! The stuff in here is so cute! Your sister really made these designs?"
"Yeah, they're definitely hers! Ooh I remember this one! She made this one thinking of me."
"She's got a lot in here."
"Totally! I remember she used to be all around the house finding inspiration and leaving her stuff everywhere she went."
"Heh, guess she wasn't too much of a tracker..."
"....Not at all."
They both shared a laugh while sailing through the shop. They looked up and down throughout the entire place with glowing eyes. After some looking around, they went to the register and paid for what they found. Going over the budget while in the process.
"Dear god, Mizuki!"
"What?"
"You have so many bags!"
"Well duh! Gotta spend as much as I can for big sis!"
Mizuki walked out with their hundreds of bags with Ena holding half and following along.
"Hey, Mizuki."
"Hm?"
"This is really random, but..."
"..but?"
"I just wanted to tell you...that I'm thankful."
"...?"
"You've done a lot for me. I still can't believe I'd actually get to be with the person of my dreams. It also surprises me that you'd deal with someone like me. I'm very happy to have you!"
Ena gave Mizuki a warm smile. These types of moments didn't happen often. Heck, it was pure luck if Ena smiled at Mizuki like that. Mizuki stared for a while, gazing lovingly at their girlfriend. Mizuki loved these situations. Mizuki didn't want to ruin the moment but they were, sadly, very quick to answer.
"My my~ There you go again! Drowning me in such praise~!"
"Y'know what? Forget I said anything."
"Wait, Ena come on!"
"Nope!"
"Ennnaaa!"
Mizuki started to run after Ena since she was now picking up speed. Ena was not having it today with Mizuki's sly remarks. Not only did she have to get up early, but Akito was pounding and pounding at her door. She worked really late last night as well. Which, spoiler alert, didn't make this day any better. She was practically half awake at 12 in the afternoon.
"Ena please!! I was just joking around."
"Still doesn't change the fact that you made me upset."
"Well that's cause you're always upset in the mornings..."
"Excuse me?!"
"Nothing!"
Ena slowed down and Mizuki was able to finally catch up.
Mizuki actually started to feel a bit mad with themselves now that they made Ena upset. Sure, they get into silly arguments that are really just jokes, but Mizuki was actually starting to get worried that it would get to Ena and they wouldn't have this relationship anymore.
What if they wouldn't be able to have it for as long as Mizuki wanted?
It was happening again. Mizuki was scared. They've already told Ena their secret, so what's there to be scared of now?
They were getting deja vu. A strong sense of it.
"Mizuki?"
"H-Huh."
"You're going to get lost if you keep dragging your feet like this..."
"Oh right. My bad."
Ena took note of Mizuki's, now lowered, tone. They were usually perked up and happy, but not now.
Ena did not like it one bit.
"Hey Mizuki, mind if we go home?"
"A-Already...?"
Mizuki thought that their date ended here and that Ena was infact, hurt.
"Come on, let's go."
Ena grabbed Mizuki's wrist and she led the way toward her house. Mizuki was very confused. That wasn't the end? Apparently not. It was now about 1-2pm. Still extremely early.
(At Ena's house)
"You can go up to my room and make yourself comfortable, I'm going to go get some water."
"Okay. Thank you."
Ena walked into the kitchen and Mizuki into Ena's room. It was Saturday so Akito was home. Honestly, Mizuki didn't feel like seeing anyone, not even Ena. Sadly, Akito came out from his room when Mizuki was about to walk into Ena's.
"Oh. Hello, Akiyama."
"Yeah, hi."
Mizuki quickly ran into Ena's room and shut the door. Akito stopped in his tracks, very confused. He wasn't used to seeing Mizuki not like themselves. Suddenly, Ena showed up.
"Yo, Ena."
"What?"
"Go check up on Akiyama. They don't seem all too well."
"....You noticed it too?"
"Yeah, why?"
"They kept dragging themselves while we were out. I'll say something to them."
"Okay, good luck."
"I don't need it."
Akito grunted a bit and went into the living room. Ena didn't care and stepped into her room. Seeing Mizuki's back facing them while they were starting out into the afternoon sun, sitting criss-crossed on Ena's bed.
"Mizuki, do you want some water? I brought a bottle for you."
"Nah, I'm good."
"Are you hungry?"
"No."
"...Okay."
Mizuki didn't have their usual cheerful persona on whenever stuff like this happened. They didn't feel like it was necessary. Besides, they weren't facing Ena. They didn't plan on it either.
"Mizuki, are you okay?"
"Hm? Yeah I'm fine, why?"
"You seem really different."
"Oh. I'm probably just tired. I mean, I did stay up late last night."
"Well I did too but...I think we both know that I'd be the one that's tired."
"Hehe, I guess you're right."
Mizuki kept staring out the window. They kept looking at the trees, the sun, the street. Everything but their girlfriend.
They were feeling guilty, but what could they do?
Still, Ena was furious. All she wanted to do was comfort Mizuki and they wouldn't cooperate. Ena knew it was wrong to be mad, but that's all they felt.
"Mizuki!"
"Huh? Why are you yelling now?"
"Because of you! Come on we've been through this before. There's obviously something wrong and you won't tell me!"
"...Ena."
"Can you at least face me?!"
"...."
"Ugh...I can't believe you're making me do this."
Ena quickly kneeled onto her bed with her legs spread out a bit. She wrapped her arms around Mizuki's stomach from behind and dug her face into their shoulder.
Mizuki jumped, but still didn't break the position. Mizuki didn't mind it, but was just not used to intimacy. They found it weird at first, but comforting.
Though, Mizuki was not having it today. Ena wasn't giving up either way.
"Mizuki..."
"..."
"You can tell me anything, right? I mean...you even told me your secret and that was really hard for you. Still, I love you. So please, tell me what's been making you upset..."
"E-Ena..."
Mizuki's voice started to crack. Then, the tears started flowing. They couldn't actually believe that Ena would still love someone like them.
"I-I..."
"But if you can't tell me now, then I'll wait. For as long as a I need to."
Mizuki's eyes widened.
It's been a long time since they've heard those words. These words made Mizuki cry even more. Now, they were crying hysterically into their own hands.
"Don't worry, I won't yell at you this time. I think you understand how badly you need to tell me how you feel..."
Mizuki started to bawl even harder.
"I-I'm so sorry Ena..! I just didn't k-know what to do!"
Ena started to hug tighter. Even now, Ena was crying as well. She couldn't stand hearing their partner crying like that.
"I just...I feel like I've been acting h-horrible! I've been so mean to you because I'm not watching what I'm s-saying..."
Ena was in shock. She hugged Mizuki even tighter than before. How that was even possible, I don't know.
"Mizuki..."
"I'm truly sorry...!"
Ena held a long pause. Then, she gave Mizuki a response.
"....it's not your fault. It's all me. To be honest, I like to hear your cheeky comments, but I also, just say before I think. Besides, it's your personality after all."
"...I just thought that if I avoided you m-maybe you'd just forget about me acting this way. I thought you've already grown tired of me. And that maybe..."
Ena quickly shot her head up and shushed Mizuki instantly.
"No."
"E-Eh"
"Did you seriously think my love for you would run out that quickly?"
"I-I mean..."
"Mizuki! Don't think that!'
"B-But Ena I-"
"Shush!!!"
Ena let her head fall into Mizuki's shoulder and hugged and swung them around a bit. It was almost as if Ena was just playing around.
"E-Ena, come on!"
"What? I'm trying to show you how much I love you!!"
Mizuki also let out a few laughs. Almost actually laughing out loud because Ena's hugging was kind of making Mizuki go crazy with all the swinging.
Ena was overjoyed. Mizuki was actually having a good time.
Finally.
"Haahh...I'm so glad you feel better now."
"Hehe, and I'm glad you helped me."
Mizuki broke from the position they were in and turned around. They gave Ena a big kiss and then a hug.
"Ena, I love you so much!! I finally get to see my beautiful girlfriend after all this time. Here, you have some tears left over."
Mizuki rubbed under Ena's eyes, drying up Ena's tears.
" Oh thank you. But, Mizuki...I think I love you more!"
The two went back and forth until Ena gave up and made Mizuki win. They laughed some more until someone decided to ruin the moment.
"Hey En...Oh."
"Hey Lil' bro!"
"....Hi."
Akito decided to come in.
"I'll just go..."
"Wait Akito!"
"What?"
"You better not say a word."
"I don't care. I wouldn't go around spreading nonsense about my sister, don't have the time."
Akito slammed the door shut and stomped to another room. Though, Akito was very happy that Mizuki was back to normal. Ena sighed
"Gosh, I can't believe he's actually my brother..."
"Hey, be nice! He's cool!"
"You think everyone is cool."
"Not you though, you're extra cool. Lovely infact!"
Mizuki let themselves fall onto Ena's bed and pull Ena down with them.
"Mizuki, we could at least shut the curtains..."
"Oh, right!"
Mizuki got up a little and shut them just like Ena suggested.
"There."
"Thank you."
Mizuki now had their arms wrapped around Ena's back and Ena having her face on Mizuki's chest. The two having the lower parts of their body intertwined.
"Mizuki."
"Yes?"
"Is it alright if I go to sleep? I'm worn out..."
"Yeah of course! I think I will as well."
"Okay. Goodnight, technically."
"Mhm. Goodnight."
The couple got comfortable while cuddling eachother close. Before they dozed off, they shared a short, but tender kiss. It was now about 5pm, but they didn't care. They didn't care about anything else but themselves. Heck, they slept through the whole day.
(Next morning)
"Alright Ena, I have to go."
"Okay, see you."
"Yup. See you!"
Mizuki gave Ena a grand hug and a kiss on the cheek before leaving. Ena waved and went inside. She quickly ran to her room, shut the door, collapsed into bed, and screamed into her pillow.
"Eeeeee!! I can't believe that actually happened!!!'
Ena kicked their feet and squealed some more until she wore herself out.
Mizuki on the other hand, clenched their bags and covered their hot face with their free hand.
"Ena...is such an amazing person!!"
They thought about eachother all day till it was finally 1am to be able to talk to each other again.
Unfortunately for Kanade and Mafuyu,
Mizuki's horrible flirting filled the chat...
Ena blocked Mizuki later into the night.
The block didn't last long.
