“It’s Christmas, don’t be mad at me,” Tony says, holding out a box. “I’m not good at gifts. They’re always too much money, or too little thought, or I’m disrespecting something sentimental, and I think this one might be all of the above.”
It’s an incredibly expensive watch, clearly custom made. Stephen can see why Tony thought it might be ‘all of the above.’ But it’s beautiful. If it wasn’t a gift, Stephen would never be able to enjoy it. But it is, so he can, and that feels like a gift in itself.
Stephen smiles warmly. “I love it.”
