Work Text:
- Well first things first, conventionally attractive? What’s that? Never heard of it.
- But no, Hawks would definitely tease you out in public. Saying that you had the most beautiful voice ever.
- And that’s not even your quirk, you’re simply pure talent.
- But yeah, he acts silly and sings for you, trying to get you to join.
- And you do but only for like a little bit before you catch people staring and stop.
- He’ll stop after that but not before narrowing his eyes at the group who made you stop.
- Because now he catches you picking at your clothes, fixing your hair and checking your reflection more often.
- Yeah, maybe you’re not “beautiful by society’s standards”, but he didn’t care about that.
- He loves you for you.
- Now at home, however,
- That’s a completely different scenario.
- At home you were more open to singing.
- Usually when you are doing mundane things like cleaning or cooking.
- Now, Keigo doesn’t really like cleaning and he can’t really cook.
- But he’ll do it if that means he’ll be able to hear your melodious voice.
- It kinda backfires though,
- Once he starts singing, you back off.
- Which kinda bums him out?
- He wants you to sing with him. He loves singing with you, so
- Do you hate singing with him?
- Do you hate him?
“Dove… why won’t you sing with me?”
The question caught you off guard. “Huh?”
“Why won’t you sing with me? Your voice is so beautiful and yet I barely get to hear it…” He paused, rolling his next words around in his mouth. “Is it because— is it me?”
“No, no of course not!” You rushed for him, cupping his face in your hands. “I love you— I love singing with you.”
“Then why won’t you?”
Your heart broke. He sounded so sad and hurt.
You bit your lip. “Well… I guess I don’t—” You sighed, “This sounds so stupid. I don't feel pretty enough to sing.”
He pulled you close, making sure your ear was flush against his chest.
“Sing with me, Dove.”
Then he began to sing. The sound of his voice and the vibrations in his chest, melted you.
You fell into his sway, opening your mouth as your part came in.
“Am I making believe I see in you,
A man too perfect to be really true?
Do I want because your wonderful
Or are you wonderful because I want you?”
“Are you the sweet invention of a lover's dream
Or are you really as wonderful as you seem?”
