Chapter Text
Stanley woke up. The sunlight shone through the window curtains.
'Today was gonna be a normal day. Right..?Maybe it can be.' Stanley thought to himself. He got out of bed, still in his.. not pajamas? This wasn't normal, but eh. He stretched and looked around at his bedroom, alone like he was missing something. Stanley sighed. Maybe he could get a pet or a roommate, just to liven up the place...
Stanley did his usual morning routine. Go to the bathroom, bathe, get changed, go to the kitchen, eat cereal, go to the bathroom, brush teeth, and go to work.
Stanley started his car and drove off to his office building. Today had a lot of traffic, but he made it! He parked his car and walked over to the entrance. The inside looked.. very busy to say the least. Stanley took a deep breath and slowly entered and clocked in. All of the employees were either carrying documents, signing documents, taking calls, calling, and/or typing. Stanley looked around him, walking to his office. He opened the door. Oh, how he loved the familiar sight of that big "427". Stanley smiled and went to work, sitting in his chair. He cracked his knuckles and put his hands on the keyboard. The keyboard clacks soon filled the room, one letter after another.
And then he was done, a smile playing on Stanley's lips. He sighed a sigh of relief and stopped typing. He stood up from his desk and walked over to his printer to print the documents. He turned on the printer and began to print some out.
After printing the documents, Stanley grabbed them and headed out of the room. Walking to the boss's office, he bumped into someone, spilling all the papers in his arms.
Stanley kneeled, as well as the mystery person.
"Let me grab those for you..." The person said. Stanley picked up the papers and looked at the person, making eye contact.
It was a man, about middle-aged, with greyed hair slicked back, and rectangular glasses with green eyes staring back at Stanley.
"Are you alright?" The man asked.
But Stanley's mind was someplace else, someplace he (kind of) remembered...

"—Stanley, just imagine it!" The Narrator said, his voice surrounding Stanley, who was sitting on the floor of the Zen room.
"You and me, not hating each other." The Narrator resumed, materializing himself as a shadow body that circled Stanley.
"Only if we met in a different situation..." The Narrator said, kneeling to face Stanley—

"Stanley?"
Stanley snapped back to reality. The man holding up the documents that Stanley had dropped.
"Stanley, your documents." The man said, handing the papers to Stanley.
[Ah, yes, thanks.] Stanley signed and thanked the man as he took the documents.
They both stood up. The man patted down his suit and Stanley arranged the papers in his arms.
"Well then, we have to go back to work." The man said as he chuckled, turning on his heel to walk away.
"Have a good day." The man said, taking a last glance at Stanley. He smiled.
[You too, sir.] Stanley waved goodbye and started walking away from the man also. A thought came to his mind...
'Did I ever tell him my name before..?'
Stanley did in fact, not tell the man his name, so he was a little taken aback by that... But despite the weird interactions with the mystery man, he went on with his day, although that chat lingered in his mind for a while...
The thought of those green eyes, looking back at him... It just- never mind... Maybe the two would meet another time, just maybe. In another situation, or at a different place, or they will never meet again... That is up for fate to decide.
