Chapter Text
Naberius Kalego just wanted to have a normal day at Babyls. He wanted to just sit peacefully in his office and grade his student’s recent homework assignments, but his plans of having a peaceful day were ruined when he was summoned. Kalego couldn’t believe he was being summoned into the human realm, not because he didn’t think it exist. He has actually been in the Human Realm multiple times and had even interacted with a few humans.
It’s because his secret lover hasn’t summoned him in almost half a year. But now she had summoned him out of the blue in a run-down shack that was located deep in a forest. Before Kalego could start an argument about why his lover hadn’t summoned him in over half a year. His anger and annoyance had turned to worry and horror when he notice the awful condition his lover was in.
His lover was bleeding in a pool of her own blood while kneeling down.
“Kalego-Kun, we finally meet again,” A woman with blue hair spoke out weakly.
“What’s going on my love, who has done this to you,” Kalego demanded before rushing toward his lover’s side.
“N-No one, I wanted to do this for him.”The woman then held out the baby she was cradling just a second ago.
Kalego then grabs the bloody and barely responsive infant from the woman’s hands.
“I didn’t want to bother you with my pregnancy since you’re always busy teaching unruly young demons about how to survive in the Netherworld. So that’s why I hid the fact you had impregnated me at the last time you visit the Human Realm, but now since our son is finally born. I think it’s the perfect time to introduce you to little Iruma.”The woman said before coughing up an alarming amount of blood.
Kalego was angry at his lover but not the way she is thinking right now. The first woman who he truly fell in love with had become pregnant with his child without informing him sooner. Even if the idea of him having a little pup of his own had never crossed his mind. Especially when Kalego believes it was impossible for humans and demons to have offspring together. But now the human who is right in front of him is holding their little miracle.
Since Kalego is greedy by nature due to him being a demon, he wanted a lot more than just the honor of meeting his son. He wanted to be there to hold back his lover’s hair when she had morning sickness.
He wanted to watch her stomach grow with his child inside, he wanted to feel the tiny kicks that came from his child's feet. He wanted to be there for the birth of his child, but sadly his lover was too late to at least gave him that opportunity.
“You and I are the parents to this tiny creature,” Kalego said rocking the infant in his arms gently.
“Yes, he’s a handsome little boy, just like his father-” The woman then collapse while breathing heavily.
Kalego then calls out his lover’s name in distress, not realizing tears were threatening to escape from his eyelids. “Kalego-Kun, I’m not going to be a part of our son’s life. If you don’t want to raise him on your own, my older brother and his wife can take Iruma instead.”The woman offers with a warm forced smile.
“Like hell I’m going to let that happen, Iruma is going to have a mother in his life.”Kalego declares before performing healing magic on the dying woman.
“Kalego, my body was never meant to carry a demon’s child. Tell Iruma that I’m sorry I wasn’t strong enough to watch him grow up as a proud Naberius,” The woman then slowly sit up and leaned toward Kalego’s lips.
“I love you, Kalego, ” The woman panted out softly before kissing Kalego on the lips.
Kalego then pulls back from the kiss when he realizes he was now kissing a corpse.
Looking at the lifeless body of the once beautiful and lively woman he had loved with all his heart, Kalego could only cry in sorrow and agony from losing someone so dear to him.
While Kalego was hugging his lover’s dead body, he then feels slight movement coming from the top of his legs. He then broke out from his sorrowful state when he remembers there was an infant that was on his lap.
Kalego then got away from his lover’s grasp before he instantly started giving his non-responsive son a mixture of CPR and healing magic.
“No, I already lost the woman I love, I’m not losing my son either.”Kalego declares before performing mini chest compressions onto the baby’s chest.
When he heard his son crying for the first time after being born just a few minutes ago, Kalego cry for the second time today. But these were tears of joy and relief, at the fact he didn’t have to bury his son next to his dead lover.
He then took off the top part of his teacher’s uniform and gently wrapped the screaming and bloody baby into a tight and warm bundle.
“Don’t worry Iruma, Daddy is right here. Your my treasure, my precious little treasure who I’m going to raise to become a strong and powerful demon,” Kalego whispers gently as he pulled Iruma closer to his chest.
Using a spell to make the baby fall asleep soundly, Kalego then makes a makeshift baby sarong and attaches the sleeping baby to his back.
Kalego then walked over and picks up his lover’s dead body into his arms before exiting the little run-down shed she had to give birth in. All alone with only a bucket of water and a few pillows to support her back.
Kalego then made a freshly dug hole appear with his magic before gently laying the dead corpse into the hole.
Kalego then gather a bouquet of blue roses that grew around the building.
Then something that only happens in movies, the once white and puffy clouds that were floating above him had turned gray before it started pouring down heavy raindrops.
After Kalego said a few words of goodbyes to the only woman he had ever loved in his long lifetime, he then refilled the hole with dirt.
When a specially loud sound of thunder went off, Iruma then woke up from his little nap before he started crying loudly. That only made Kalego hold his son tighter against his chest and push his head into the crook of his neck. Even if the woman’s body is already concealed with dirt, Kalego didn’t want his son to see anything.
“Who the hell are you, and where’s my little sister ?” A deep unfamiliar voice demanded over the rain.
Chapter 2: Iruma's selfish and greedy Uncle
Chapter Text
“You must be the older brother that Suzuki was talking about,” Kalego responded to a man with a darker shade of blue hair than his lover’s.
“I am and where is she” The man then stopped talking when he noticed a large amount of blood that covered Kalego’s robes.
The man looked at the area with freshly covered dirt on top.
“You monster, you killed my beloved little sister!”The blue-haired man screams at the demon with pure hatred in his voice.
Being the proud demon that Kalego has been and always will be, he didn’t want to show any type of weakness in front of anyone, especially to a human.
“Your right, I did kill your baby sister,” Kalego admitted without showing a single ounce of emotion in his voice.
“Like shit I don’t know that,” The man snapped at him while crying.
But remembering the stories about how the man standing in front of him treated his younger sister in the past, Kalego looked at the man in only disgust rather than pity.
“You also play a small part in your sister’s death,” Kalego spoke out for the first time in a while, making the human glare at him.
“Oh and how the hell is that, You Monster!”The man only snarls at the demon.
“Ever since you guys were kids you always treated your younger sister like a slave because of her kind and caring nature.
You always manipulated your younger sister to either do your chores or give you all of her allowance money. And then when the both of you became adults, you lie to her about needing money for an expensive life-saving operation.
Since she already reduce to living in a rundown shed in the middle of nowhere because she had already given you and your wife what little money she had left. So in order, for her to get enough money within the short deadline you gave her, your sister let a cult use her as a human sacrifice.
And judging by your condition, I’m assuming your so call life-saving surgery was a success because you didn’t ask for any more money or contacted your sister in over 3 years.”Kalego reveals before taking another step toward the much shorter man.
“How do you know that?”The man asked in fear, feeling a deadly aura radiating from the taller man
“Because I’m the demon that she offered her life to, in exchange for enough money to help her sick brother from dying. So tell me, Mr.Suzuki why are you here out of nowhere at your sister’s shed after being gone for so long,” Kalego demanded with the same stoic expression he had at the beginning of their conversation.
“Well um, my wife and I ran out of all the money my sister gave us a couple of years ago. So I came back to my sister’s so I could get more, but just enough to get my wife and me out of debt. It’s not like I’ll like asking my little sister for money, but my wife’s comfort always comes first in my eyes,” The human tries to justify his actions.
“My older brother was right, humans really are the most despicable creatures to ever exist.” Soon after those words left Kalego’s mouth, baby Iruma began crying and screaming,
“Of course, you're not despicable, you and your mother are far from being despicable,” Kalego said as he tried to comfort and rocks the crying baby back to sleep.
“Why does that baby look exactly like my sister!”Mr. Suzuki demanded while pointing an accusing finger at the blue-hair infant.
“Oh yeah I forgot to mention this to you, Mr.Suzuki. Your baby sister got knocked up by a demon; congratulations you are now an uncle to baby Iruma.” Kalego said with fake happiness lace in his voice while letting the man get a better look at his nephew.
Kalego then noticed the small hint of greed in Mr.Suzuki’s eyes.
“Hey Mr.Demon,” Mr. Suzuki said while smirking.
“It’s Kalego, Naberius Kalego,” The demon corrected the human with narrow eyes.
“Naberius Kalego, how about we make a deal,” Mr. Suzuki announce, not even trying to conceal the greed in his eyes anymore.
The demon only raise an eyebrow, not knowing what this pitiful human could offer him that would remotely pique his interest.
“If you just give me enough money or gold that anyone could ever want, I’ll let you have my freak of a nephew,” Kalego nearly went slack jaw at the man’s offer.
This man, no this worthless piece of scum was willing to sell his newly born nephew to a species that is known for devouring humans.
Kalego then stomped and crack the ground that was underneath his feet, making the human flinch by the display of brute strength the demon possesses.
“I came from the Netherworld, a place full of demons that are greedy and selfish by nature. But after only spending a few minutes with you, I came to the conclusion that humans are the true greedy and selfish creatures out of the 2 worlds. Even if our lifestyle is a lot more harsher and dangerous in the Netherworld than in the Human World. We demons can all agree on one thing. Children, especially children that are your own flesh and blood are considered and should be considered as nothing more but treasure,” Kalego explained to the human with clenched fists.
Not wanting to be compared to a demon, the male human only rolls his eyes.
“Shut up ‘Demon’, if you’re not giving me any gold then I want my nephew back,” Mr. Suzuki demanded angrily before lunging for the child that was in Kalego’s arms.
The dog that possesses Kalego’s magic, made his protective k9 instincts kick in.
Kalego’s nails and fangs became sharper when he clawed at the man who was trying to take his treasure away from him.
“Ahhhhh, my fucking eye!”The male human scream in pain while holding his bleeding face.
Kalego then licked the fresh red liquid from his hand while staring death in the eyes of the person’s blood he was now consuming. Kalego then began licking every single drop of blood from his hand like a thirsty hound dog, the rumors were right about human blood. It really was the most delicious thing that any demon had the privilege of tasting.
“I’m only going to say this once, Human. Since you are the older brother of my late lover, I’m going to spare your life for this one time. Leave right this instant because the scent of your tasty blood is making it harder to restrain me from eating you. I rather not traumatize my infant son by eating their uncle right before their innocent little eyes, ”Kalego declares with drool running from his mouth slightly.
“Son?”Was the only word that came out of the human’s mouth.
Kalego only looked down at the human while smirking at his confused facial expression.
“I, Naberius Kalego is the proud father of Naberius Iruma. Meaning I have more of a birthright to Iruma than his deadbeat of an uncle,” Kalego proclaims smugly before walking back to the summoning circle with his son in his hands.
The baby only stared at Kalego with curiosity before reaching a tiny hand out.
“Don’t worry Iruma, I will always protect you, especially from your waste of space of an uncle that you’re sadly related to,” Kalego promised before letting his son grab and play with his long index finger.
Kalego then turn his attention to the human that was standing only a few feet away from the summoning circle.
“Iruma, wave goodbye to your worthless uncle,” Kalego had an evil smile on his face while waving at the wounded human.
“THIS ISN’T OVER NABERIUS KALEGO, I’M GOING TO GET MY NEPHEW BACK ONE OF THESE DAYS!”The human screamed in fury at the purple-haired demon as the magic circle began to glow.
The human then tries to reach out for his baby nephew one last time when Kalego slapped his hand away, looking down at him coldly. “The day I let you have Iruma is the day I’ll die.”
In a blink of an eye, both the demon and baby in his arms had disappeared as if they were never there in the first place.
“I will get you back, Iruma. You must suffer the consequences for killing my sister and for ruining my chance of having an easy and carefree life,” The human declares with all the sanity drained from him.
Explanation:
Iruma’s shitty parents from the manga are actually his uncle and aunt in this fanfic. Iruma’s father from the canon storyline is actually the older brother of Iruma’s real mother. Even if Iruma is the biological son of Naberius Kalego, he is still going to face a lot of limitations for being half-human.
Chapter 3: Iruma's Godfather
Chapter Text
Once Kalego was finally back in the Netherworld, he then scans his surroundings carefully. He wanted to make sure no one had witnessed him reappearing from a summoning circle with a newborn baby in his arms.
“Okay, first things first, I need to find someone to give my son a quick check-up so I know his health isn’t in danger. But I’m not sure I can take Iruma to a regular hospital because he smells too much like a human,” Kalego mumbled to himself, already stressing out at the fact he might not be able to give the medical care that his son needs.
A demon’s name then pops up into Kalego’s head before he reaches down in his pocket and pulled his phone out.
The phone only rang for a few seconds when someone picked up his call.
“Balam, are you currently in your room!”Kalego demanded.
“Yeah, why are you asking Kalego-Kun?”Balam questioned, noticing the hint of worry in his coworker’s voice.
“I’ll explain later, just prepare your office where you can examine a newborn baby. I’m coming over there in just a little bit,” Before Balam could ask any more questions, Kalego had already hung up on him.
Not wanting his coworkers and students to spread rumors about why he has a newborn baby with him. Kalego quietly sneaks out of his window and flies in the direction where Balam’s office was located.
“What the!” Balam said in a surprised tone when he saw Kalego banging from the other side of the room’s glass panels. Once Balam opened his office’s front window, Kalego then flew inside the spacious room while holding a little bundle close to his chest.
Kalego started talking before Balam had a chance to speak.
“This is Iruma, my son.”Kalego said before revealing the sleeping baby to the much larger demon.
“Your son?”Was the only words that stutter out of Balam’s mask.
Kalego only nodded his head slightly. “Because Iruma is half-human, I can’t take him to any hospitals in the Netherworld. That’s why I came to you since you’re an expert on humans and their biology.”
If Balam was drinking anything right now, he would spit it all out by the new piece of information Kalego had just revealed to him.
“Wait, humans are real! And you even manage to conceive a child with one,” Balam stated with a hint of jealousy in his voice. Balam has spent his entire life on obsessing over humans and imaginary creatures, while Kalego gets to interact with them without even trying. And the fact that Kalego gets to be the father to such an adorable creature only pours fuel into Balam’s jealousy.
“So where is Iruma’s mother?”Balam asked, hoping that he at least has the chance to interact with such a rare species.
“She used all of her strength to give our son life,” Kalego stated with a grim expression on his face while holding Iruma closer to him.
Not wanting to prive further, Balam then asked Kalego to hand over his son to him.
Once Iruma was in Balam’s arms, the scent of the most delicious thing he had ever smelled had become stronger. Balam was thankful he always wears a mask that covers his mouth because he could feel drool running down his chin. The white-haired demon had honestly contemplated at least licking off the blood that covered the newborn. But before Balam had the chance to unclip his mask, the baby reach his tiny hand out. Iruma then grabbed a small strand of Balam’s white long locks before he started to giggle slightly.
“I will protect this child with my very life,” Balam mentally declare to himself while holding the baby closer to his chest. Seeing that his son has the Gargoyle of Babyls wrapped around his little fingers, Kalego only smirks in satisfaction.
After looking over the baby for only a few seconds, it was easy to tell that Iruma’s physical appearance didn’t share the same traits an average demon would have.
The baby did not have any horns or a tail, which isn’t surprising since his father didn’t have those common demon traits. But his ears and scent were definitely a different story.
Iruma’s ears were round and short, rather them being long and pointy. Balam then slowly turned Iruma onto his back, hoping that Iruma at least inherited an important appendage that all demons are born with. Both Balam and Kalego then let out a sigh of relief when they saw tiny wings flapping from the baby’s back.
Balam then uses the medical equipment that he borrowed from the school’s nurse's office and began checking the newborn’s vitals. Once Balam concluded that Iruma was born as a healthy baby boy, he then washed the blood that covered the baby. He then sprayed a perfume strong enough that could block off the delicious scent of Iruma’s human half.
Once Balam could no longer smell the mouth-watering scent from the baby, he then finally wrapped the baby into a soft blanket he had lying around in his closet.
Seeing that Iruma was in trusted hands, Kalego began walking away without his son.
“Congratulations Balam, you have just been promoted to Iruma’s godfather. So as his Godfather, you can watch over him while I buy the necessary equipment for raising a demon child,” Kalego stated before exiting the room.
Balam didn’t care about the fact Kalego just left him alone with babysitting duty, he was too happy at the fact he gets to spend time with such a rare and adorable little creature.
After an hour had passed when Kalego left for the stores, another demon entered Balam’s room
“Hey, Professor Balam did you finish those reports I asked you to do last week?”Dali sensei asked after he pops his head out from the office’s entrance.
“They are right there, Professor Dali,” Balam then pointed at a tall stack of paper without taking his eyes away from his godchild.
Noticing a small bundle of blankets that the large demon was cradling, made Dali lose interest in the paperwork he originally came for.
“What do you get there Professor Balam, a demon kitten you found on your way to work again-,” Dali-sensei then stopped talking when he came face to face with the cutest demon baby he has ever seen in his life.
“Oh Devi, is that the kid's bloodline magic because the kid's appearance is unnaturally too cute?”Deli thought to himself with his eyes completely dilated from witnessing too much cuteness at once.
“Professor Balam, what kind of goddess did you have to knock up to produce such a cute little offspring?” Dali asked while wiggling his finger at the newborn.
“No one because little Iruma isn’t mine, I’m only babysitting him while his real father is out running a few errands,” Balam explained while Dali-sensei kept on playing with the baby.
A few moments later, Balam didn’t know how he let this happen. Almost half of Babyls teaching staff was currently in his office, wanting to see baby Iruma.
First, it was Dali sensei, then Suzy sensei when she heard her coworker cooing at something in Balam’s office.
When Suzy-sensei saw the cute little bundle of blue hair, she immediately got out her phone and snap a few pictures of the baby with Balam in the shot. Suzy then had already pressed send before Balam had the chance to stop her from sharing those pictures.
Now all the teachers who had nothing better else to do today were currently bunched together in Balam’s quarters while trying to get the newborn baby’s attention.
“So cute,” Raim, the teacher of Babyls seduction class squealed at the baby.
“Very adorable, yes yes,” Suzy said with her usual mellow tone
“He is going to be quite a ladies' man once he is all grown up,” Oswell commented while grinning at the baby.
“He might be my nephew’s senpai one of these days,” Marbas mention since he remembers one of his relatives just announced they were pregnant.
“Look at those cute and innocent eyes, he’s someone who hasn’t been corrupted by this cruel world,” Blushenko declares with teary eyes, even if he acts stoic and strict in front of his students, he still has a soft spot for babies.
“I hope my future children would be just as cute as Iruma,” Momonoki stated as she imagine what her future children would look like.
Momonoki’s face then turned a deep shade of red when all of her future kids all look like Kalego. It’s a good thing that the female demon didn’t know who Iruma’s birth father was.
The saying is true,’ Ignorance is bliss.’
Chapter 4: Opera-Senpai!
Chapter Text
It’s been almost a month since Kalego became a father and now he is spending his last day of temporary leave of absence with his son. The first few days of taking care of his newborn son were no walk in the park, especially for a demon like Kalego. Since he had never been around with babies or even small children, Kalego was completely clueless and he honestly didn’t know the first thing about how to take care of a baby.
Sure Iruma was cute, nice, cuddly, and didn’t even cry a lot, but Iruma was still a baby who needs constant care and attention.
Kalego had resorted to drinking more coffee past the normal limits for additional energy to keep him from not falling asleep.
But Kalego had finally realized the only 3 reasons why Iruma would cry, number 1; is he’s hungry because, for some strange reason, he can finish 8 bottles of baby formula per feeding time. Number 2; he needs a diaper change but with the help of magic that task wasn’t so bad for Kalego. Number 3; he wants his father’s attention, which was the reason that use to keep Kalego up all night.
But one particular night, Kalego decided to play a record from one of his favorite piano artists. Thinking it would help his mental sanity when he rocks the baby back to sleep for the 5th time that same week.
But to Kalego's amazement, baby Iruma shares the same taste in music as his father, because soon as the music started playing. The once crying and fussing Iruma would become a quiet and well-behaved baby, much to Kalego’s liking. Overall Kalego thinks he had adjusted to fatherhood pretty well since his son didn’t make too much of a mess and for a baby, he is very obedient.
He’s not trying to be biased but Kalego honestly believes that Iruma is the perfect baby anyone would be grateful to have.
Now, Kalego was currently in town on an afternoon stroller ride with his son. Iruma was dressed in a violet dog onesie with the words ‘Guard Dog’ embroidered on the soft fabric.
And as usual, the bystanders who were near the father-son duo focused all their attention on the baby stroller. Iruma’s appearance wasn’t the only thing that radiate rainbows and sunshine but his aura as well. Kalego was also pretty sure it wasn’t just in his head, whenever he went with his son. All sounds seem to disappear because everyone would stop at ‘aw’ when baby Iruma would pass by them.
But the stoic demon only ignores the attention that his baby was getting before entering a baby shop. Kalego put the finest brand of baby formula, new baby toys, and more diapers in a shopping basket.
The employees who work in the baby store just love it when baby Iruma came to visit. Pretty much all demon children are disrupted evil little ankle-biters, who usually scream and cry every given second. But the blue-haired baby was a different story, Iruma was quiet, obedient, and overall a delight to be around with.
“Hey everyone, Kalego is back with little Iruma,’ One of the shop attendants announce, making their coworkers stop what they were doing.
“Iruma, look over here,” a female worker said while making silly faces at the baby.
“No Iruma, lookover here. I’m much cooler to look at,” a male worker said as he also tried to get the baby’s attention.
When Kalego clears his throat, all the store’s employees back away from the baby stroller before returning to their previous task.
After the store’s cashier was done ringing up his items, Kalego felt a chill down his spine, as if something or someone was looking at him like pray.
“I didn’t expect you to shop at a store like this, Kalego-Kun,” Kalego knew that voice, it belongs to the same person who made his Babyls years a living hell.
“Opera-senpai!”Kalego shivers in terror when he came face to face with the cat demon.
“Hello Kalego-Kun, it’s been a while since we last met. I notice you shopping from the store’s window so I decide it’s the perfect chance to reconnect with my old classmate,” Opera responded while brushing their tail slightly against Kalego, which made the purple-haired demon flinch in terror.
When Kalego tries to push the baby stroller away from the crazy cat demon, Opera easily stopped from the stroller from moving by stepping on one of its wheels.
“And who’s this little guy?”Opera asked when he bend down to the baby’s eye level.
Iruma began giggling while reaching his tiny hands out to Kalego’s worst enemy.
Opera’s eyes sparkles in fascination before they picked up the baby boy that somehow radiate rainbows and smiles from his tiny body.
Opera then got out their phone and pulled up a picture that Professor Suzy had sent to all of the teachers at Babyls a month ago.
Opera stared at their phone and then back at the baby before putting the baby side by side with the picture that was on their phone.
“Well, the mystery about who Iruma’s father has just been solved,” Opera stated with glee at their detective work.
“How do you know his name?”Kalego demanded while he try to get his baby back from his senpai’s grasp.
“Professor Suzy send this picture to pretty much all the teaching staff of Babyls. Meaning Lord Sullivan also receive the picture and then he sends it to me with a long message attached to it,” Opera stated before showing Kalego their phone screen.
The text read; “Oh my Devi Opera, someone had brought the cutest baby to Babyls. I asked Professor Balam to give me the information about Iruma’s mother or father. But sadly Balam didn’t give me the identity of the adorable baby’s parents, despite me begging and pleading him to. I even offer him a 20% pay bump, but he still didn’t give in to my whims. The only thing I know about this baby is that he is a baby boy and his name is Iruma. I’m so lonely Opera-san, me, Beliard and Levi are the same age, and yet they are already grandparents.
I want a grandchild too, do you think I could adopt Iruma as my grandson if his parents are crappy,” Kalego growled when he read the last part of the long text message. Of course, he is not giving up his beloved son to that crazy Chair Demon, Iruma is his and no one else's.
“Like hell, I’m going to let Sullivan adopt my son,” Kalego declare with fury and determination in his voice.
Opera then handed back Kalego’s baby to him with a devilish smirk on their face.
Opera quickly angles their phone toward the father-son duo and manage to snap a perfect picture of both Kalego and Iruma facing the camera lens.
“Don’t you dare,” Kalego threaten in a deadly tone after he heard a camera click.
“And send,” Opera said after pressing the ‘Send’ button on their phone, completely ignoring the enraged demon that was standing right in front of them.
Knowing that he was still no match against the cat demon and their master, Kalego decided to book it fast as he can to his house, while carrying his baby son in his arms. Not even caring about leaving behind the baby supplies he had just bought for Iruma.
In the next chapter, baby Iruma is finally going to say his first word. The first person who guesses in the comment section what Iruma’s first word is going to be. Gets to pitch a story idea for the future arcs for this fanfic, along with a username shout-out as well.
-Chapter 5 will be posted on Jul 7
Chapter 5: Iruma's First Word
Chapter Text
Once Kalego finally made it back to his house, he immediately started boarding up all of his windows and doors. But sadly his efforts were all for nothing when he heard someone keep ringing his doorbell.
“Kalego it’s me, Shichiro. I finally made more of those scent suppressors for Iruma,” Kalego heard the voice of his only coworker that he actually likes from the other side of his door.
Kalego slowly cracks open his door in which he heavily regretted his decision by trusting only the gargoyle’s voice. The 2 other demons that Kalego was trying to hide away from were now in his house.
“You left these from the store,” Opera stated before handing over the bags that were full of baby supplies to the irritated demon.
“Shichiro, why is the Chair Demon and Opera with you?” Kalego demanded with gritted teeth, not wanting to yell in front of his son.
“What do you mean Kalego-Kun, Lord Sullivan informed me you had invited him to meet little Iruma,” Balam responded in confusion.
“Where’s Iruma, I want to see my new grandson,” A blood vein then popped on Kalego’s forehead when Sullivan had just declare himself as Iruma’s grandfather.
“Like hell you are,” Kalego yelled with clenched fist, making his son cry from the sudden burst of loud noise.
With a simple snap from Kalego’s fingers, a record player magically started playing a piano melody.
The baby instantly stopped crying before clapping in joy, which made all the demons, except Kalego ‘Aw’ by the cuteness that the baby was displaying.
“Now I understand why you took a month of absence from work, I wouldn’t want to be away from this cute little jelly bean,” Sullivan stated before picking up and hugging the little jelly bean.
“Give me back my son, You Flea!”Kalego demanded, honestly contemplating rather he should bite the Chair Demon’s head off.
“Now Kalego-Kun, I think me becoming the grandfather to a half-demon child would benefit all of us,” Both Kalego and Balam stiffen at the Chair Demon’s statement, how the hell did he know about Iruma’s true inheritance?
“How do you know?”Kalego utters before taking up a fighting stance, fully prepared to take on the Chair Demon for the sake of his son.
“So Iruma is really half-human,” Sullivan stated in glee before explaining himself.
“When I came over to Balam’s office on the same day he was babysitting little Iruma. I could smell a faint scent of human blood coming from his sink. So I assumed it was the blood of Iruma’s mother since the baby looked like he was only born a couple of hours ago. But that theory was kind of a stretch since there has been no record of a demon ever being able to conceive offspring with a human. ”
Noticing the devilish smirk on the Chair Demon’s face, Kalego groans in annoyance knowing full-well blackmailing isn’t below Sullivan’s morals.
“Fine, you can be Iruma’s grandfather. Just don’t tell Demon Border Control about Iruma’s existence,” Kalego nearly spat out blood when he utters the word ‘Grandfather.’
“Yeppy, yeah, yeah, I finally get a grandchild,” Lord Sullivan cheered in joy while jumping up and down in his tiny egg form.
If the man who was currently acting like a small child wasn’t the one who was in charge of his salary, Kalego would punch Lord Sullivan in the face.
Once he was done playing with his new grandson, Sullivan then discussed serious business with one of his best employees of Babyls.
“So who’s going to take care of Iruma once your month-long leave is over?”Sullivan asked with both his hands and legs crossed together.
“I had already hired a nanny to watch over my son while I’m at work,” Kalego answered without blinking. The Chair Demon only raises an eyebrow.
“How about you let Opera take care of Iruma, instead of wasting all of that money on child care,” Sullivan offered, making the cat servant’s eyes sparkle at the opportunity of spending more time with the adorable baby.
“Like hell I’ll let that psychopath be alone with my child. I still remember all of the ‘Fun’ Opera put me through during our school years!”Kalego said the word ‘Fun’ in quotations.
“I assure you Kalego-Kun, I can give the finest care that any baby or child could ask for,” Opera stated while bowing down slightly.
“The hiring process for Iruma’s nanny has already been finalized. You guys are allowed to come over to my house once a week to visit Iruma, but your visit can’t be longer than a hour,” Kalego stated.
“4 times a week and 5 hours of spending time with my only grandchild,” Sullivan counters.
“2 times a week and 2 hours of spending time with Iruma,” Kalego counters back.
“3 times a week and 3 hours of Iruma time,” Sullivan counters back again.
“Deal,” Kalego agreed while signing in annoyance, knowing this was most likely the best deal he could get from the pesky Chair Demon.
-x-
“Opera, are you recording this?”Sullivan asked his servant excitedly.
“I already got my phone out soon as I notice Iruma was trying,” Opera responded while recording the stumbling baby.
Baby Iruma was currently supporting himself on a wall while trying to stand up for the first time.
The baby then let go of his only line of support and to the baby’s joy, Iruma’s legs were finally strong enough to carry his weight.
Iruma’s father then quickly kneel a good distance away to where his son was standing.
“Come on my little pup, you are part of the Naberius clan. Meaning that you are destined to achieve greatness one of these days, so walk on your own 2 feet, my son.” Kalego said before Iruma instantly walk into his father’s awaiting arms.
All of the demons who witness the scene; Kalego, Balam, Sullivan, and Opera were gushing over the baby when Iruma was making noises with his mouth.
“He’s about to say his first word,” Balam stated with his phone still pointing at the 1-year-old.
“S-,” Iruma stutters out while trying even harder to speak.
“He’s going to say, Sullivan, I’m going to be his first word,” Sullivan declares with confidence in his voice.
“S-shit,”
All the adults, especially Kalego looked at the baby in horror.
“S-lice, Silence, Silence, Silence,” Baby Iruma keep repeating the word while clapping his hands in glee. Ignoring the first attempt that his son tried to say ‘Silence.’ Kalego might start crying when he heard his son’s first word, the saying is true ‘Like father like son.’
“Curse you Kalego, you corrupted the poor baby’s mind,” Lord Sullivan said while shaking his fist at the kneeling and teary eye demon?
“Kalego-Kun are those tears coming from your eyes?”Opera asked playfully while zooming their phone’s camera at Kalego’s face.
“No, demons from the great Naberius Clan would rather die than show any type of weakness!”Kalego retorted before immediately wiping his sleeve against his eyes and lunging for Opera’s phone.
Balam then put Iruma onto his lap and started reading a picture book to the baby, wanting to distract the baby from witnessing his father trying to kill the demon cat. And also because since Iruma is now learning how to speak, Balam believes it’s a great time to expose the baby to picture books.
Chapter 6: Iruma's best Birthday Gift
Chapter Text
It has been exactly 4 years since Kalego lost the love of his life, but today wasn’t a day for mourning. Today was his son’s 4th birthday and now Iruma was about to blow out his candles on the large cake that Opera had baked for him. “Happy Birthday Iruma-Kun!” All the demons in the room; Balam, Sullivan, Opera, and Kalego said while taking multiple pictures of the child.
Iruma closes his eyes before he blows out the 4 candles on his cake. After the massive cake was devoured mostly by the tiny birthday boy, much to nobody’s surprise.
Iruma started opening his large pool of presents that were mostly from his grandfather, despite much of Kalego’s protests. Kalego had already told Sullivan multiple times from Iruma’s past birthdays about not going overboard on the gifts because he didn’t want his son to grow up spoiled rotten. But once again, the Chair Demon only ignores the father’s wishes and showers Iruma with so many presents that one 4-year-old couldn’t possibly need.
Balam only gave Iruma more of his homemade picture books, much to the 4-year-old liking.
Iruma always looks forward to the gargoyle's much less extravagant gift, compared to all of the expensive and fancy items he receives from his grandfather. But either way, Iruma is always happy and grateful for any gift he gets for his birthday. But so far his favorite gift that Iruma had ever received from all of his birthdays. Was a toy piano his father got for him last year, and Iruma was planning on playing the instrument in front of his guests who attend the party.
After Iruma was done opening all of his presents, the small child then ran into his bedroom and drag out his piano. He then places the small piano in the middle of his house’s living room and began playing the instrument just like how his father show him. At first, Iruma's heart was pounding at a fast rate because this was the first time he was performing in front of other people that wasn’t his father. But Iruma still manages to easily trump through the song with grace, not noticing his guest's shock and amazed expressions.
(River Flows in You: by Yiruma)
“Did I do well Father?”Iruma asked with hopeful eyes, wanting his father's approval.
“You did above average, my little pup,” Kalego responded while holding back the grin, that wants to spread across his face when he heard his son’s performance. Of course, Kalego wants to give more praise to his son, but Kalego also wants his son to reach his fullest potential on the instrument. Meaning he doesn’t want to inflate his son’s ego too much.
“Kalego-Kun are you joking, the kid is probably a prodigy. Did Iruma start playing the piano while in the womb or something like that?! ”Balam stated in disbelief that a 4-year-old could play an instrument so well.
Kalego only smirked before walking toward an area where curtains were blocking the view of Iruma’s last gift.
“In order to help Iruma developed his skills as a pianist more, I got him this,” Kalego stated before pulling onto a rope that made the curtains open.
The piano Kalego had chosen for his son was a top-of-the-line upright piano that was half a foot taller than the young pianist. Iruma jumped up and down in joy before hugging his father while thanking him profusely.
Once Iruma sat on the stool that came with his gift, the piano instantly change into a cuter and fluffier version of the once pristine instrument.
“This piano were reflect your personality when you lose focus, but don’t worry it will fix itself once you play and get a hang of it,” Kalego explained before Iruma started playing his new piano which was much different and harder to use than his old one.
Kalego then took a seat next to his son. “If you keep on preserving, then you will be awarded in the end, like this,” Kalego stated while leading his son’s fingers to the right piano keys.
After a few failed attempts, Iruma finally made some progress much sooner than his father had expected him to.
Once Iruma thanked and send off all the people who attended his party, he immediately started playing with his new gift until his little body couldn’t stay up much longer.
Kalego got up from the chair he was sitting in and picked up Iruma after he fell asleep on top of his gift.
Kalego then gently tucked his son into his bed before kissing him ‘good night’ on the forehead.
“Good night Iruma, your mother would be proud to give birth to such a sweet and talented child,” Kalego whispered softly into his son’s ear before pulling the covers over the boy’s sleeping frame.
“Night Dad,” Iruma manages to mutter out sleepily.
“Night my little pup,” The father responded before closing the bedroom’s door.
Chapter 7: Iruma’s visit to Babyls
Chapter Text
“So what are we doing today Father?”Iruma asked when Kalego was laying out his clothes.
“I’m going to bring you to Babyls today so I can show you the ropes on what a school setting will be like. Since you will be starting kindergarten very soon, I want my son to be prepare for anything that comes at him,” Kalego answered which made the boy jump in excitement.
“Yeah, I get to go to Babyls just like daddy and grandpa!”Iruma cheered childishly before immediately composing himself.
“I mean, spending time at such a prestigious school is wonderful to help my future development as a proud Naberius,” Iruma stated gracefully while slightly bowing his head to his father.
Kalego then pat himself on the back for raising such a well-manner little pup.
After Iruma was done tieing on his blue sneakers, he saw his dad waiting for him on the doorstep with his large black wings already out since Iruma’s own pair of wings were still too small for him to fly with.
After the short flight trip from his house to the school was over, Iruma then got off his father’s back and admired the large building that was right in front of him.
“Wow, it’s so big!”Iruma exclaimed in amazement.
Some of the students who noticed the small child who was standing at the school’s entrance suddenly stopped walking.
“Hi little guy, are you lost?”A female student with bright pink skin asked the child.
The young blue-haired child only shook his head.
“No, I’m here with my father,” He then pointed at the scariest and most strictish teacher in Babyls who is known for taking great pleasure on his student’s suffering.
All the students and teachers looked at the adorable child who was blindly too cute for his own good, then back at the stoic and cold-hearted teacher who was currently giving them a death glare. All of the demons then looked back down at the blue-haired child, then back up at Professor Kalego, that adorable little jelly bean claims the terrifying demon as his father.
“I think he might be being held hostage, no way in hell that cute little mochi came from Kalego’s DNA, plus, Professor Kalego never mentioned he had a child before,” Professor Oswell whispered in his coworker’s ear.
“I’ll distract Professor Kalego while you take the kid to safety,” Professor Blushenko stated before walking toward to the glaring teacher.
“Hello my Name is Professor Orias Oswell, what’s your name, little boy?”The Professor asked while bending down to the child’s height.
“Uh-Iruma,”
Orias Oswell’s eyes shot open in surprise at the boy’s answer.
“Are you related to the Chair Demon by any chance, Iruma?”Oswell asked to which the boy nodded.
Before Iruma had a chance to answer more of the teacher’s questions, someone had sneakily grabs him from behind.
“Iruma-Kun, you are finally here. Hey everyone, my beloved sweet and adorable grandson is finally here at Babyls! Mean-old- Kalego-Kun had forbidden me from sharing all pictures of Iruma to anyone at work, but now you all can admire how cute my wonderful grandson is,” Lord Sullivan announced to everyone while holding up the small child.
Kalego then moves Professor Blushenko out of his way, before Roundhouse kicking the Chair Demon into a stone wall. When the boy was no longer in the Chair Demon’s grasp, Kalego swiftly caught his son before Iruma’s body could make contact with the ground.
“Don’t parade my son around like a trophy,” Kalego demanded coldly, which made Momonoki and the other female students blush from the stoic teacher’s actions. Thinking it’s hot and charming for such a scary and cold-hearted teacher like Kalego, can also be an overprotective father.
“Iruma, I think it’s time to properly introduce yourself,” Kalego exclaimed before laying Iruma down back on his feet.
Iruma stands up straight and tall with both hands attached to his sides just like his father taught him to when he introducing himself to new demons.
“Hello, my name is Naberius Iruma and I’m very grateful to meet all of you today.” Iruma greeted with a bowed head before running and hiding behind his father’s legs.
The demons who witness the brief introduction only aww at the boy’s cuteness.
“What a polite boy you are, yes yes, I’m Stolas Suzy, it’s nice to see you again Iruma-Kun,” Suzy said which made the boy come out from his hiding spot since the short teacher didn’t look intimidating in the slightest to him.
“Again?”Was the only word that came from the boy’s mouth, not remembering the blond demon’s face.
“Around 5 years ago, I remember Professor Balam cradling a baby with blue hair just like yours,” Suzy then pointed at Iruma’s head.
A demon with light brown hair and white horns walked where the child was standing.
“Hi I’m Professor Dali, and you may not remember me but I remember you were quite a cute baby back then. I still can recall our first meeting, it was when Professor Balam had you in his office while school was still in session. At first, I couldn’t believe a demon scary as Professor Balam could produce such an adorable little jelly bean.
But now it’s even harder for me to believe that grumpy pants over there,” Dali-Sensei then pointed at the scowling teacher, who look like he was seconds away from ripping the playful demon’s head off.
“Could be your real father, did he kidnap you or maybe you were switched at birth,” Dali-sensei suggested playfully but also semi-seriously to the small child.
Iruma only puff up his cheeks before taking a few steps back from the brown-haired demon.
“I am the son of Naberius Kalego and I can prove it!” All the demons, including Kalego, waited in dissipation of the small child’s next plan of action.
Iruma, being the hybrid demon child he was, had greatly impacted his magical abilities by blocking off his access to both Verbal and non-Verbal magic, much to the boy’s disappointment. But luckily the only type of magic that Iruma possesses is the same type of magic that can prove he is Kalego’s son.
“Cerberion!” Iruma chanted out before a tiny 3 headed puppy made out of electricity was summoned next to him.
Everyone ‘awwed’ at the 3 headed puppy that was almost as adorable as the child who had summoned it.
“I can make a doggy appear just like my papa,” Iruma stated with a proud grin.
The spectators’ pupils had become completely dilated from the combination of the precious 5-year-old and the puppy next to him. Overall the sight was too much cuteness that anyone could handle.
Dali-sensei then started petting the 3 headed puppy , not noticing the puppy had released its fangs. The dog growled at the demon who was patting their heads before sinking their tiny but sharp fangs deep into Dali-Sensei’s hand.
“Ow, my hand!”Dali winched in pain while waving his hand up and down with all of the dog’s head still attached to it.
“Cerberus, let him go! Please!”Iruma pleaded to the 3 headed puppy but the beast didn’t listen to it’s master as it kept on biting the panicking teacher’s hand.
Sure, Kalego could be a responsible father by helping his son control his magic. And Kalego could also be a helpful coworker by using his magic to scare off the demon pup, but Kalego decides to be none of those things. That’s why Kalego only watches from the sidelines and enjoys the entertainment of the annoying teacher’s misery.
“Should we do something, I kind of feel bad for not helping Professor Dali or Iruma,” Professor Blushenko exclaimed in a slight concern tone to his purple-suited colleague.
“Nah, since Kalego isn’t stepping in, then why should we? Plus, this is a funny form of entertainment, I’m definitely posting this on Demon Tube,” Oswell stated while pointing his phone at the scene that was taking place in the school’s main entrance.
“I said let him go!”Iruma demanded loudly before tackling and yanking the dog off Dali’s slightly bleeding hand.
Once Iruma’s feet landed back on the ground with the dog in his arms, the boy sigh in relief of finally regaining control of Cerberus.
The boy then lost his balance and face-planted with a loud thump onto a hard surface when the 3 headed dog poofs away into yellow smoke.
“Iruma!” All the demons who witness the boy faceplanted cried his name in worry.
The boy instantly picks himself up, ignoring the pain and small pool of blood that was running down from his nose, before rushing to where Dali-Sensei was currently standing.
“Mr. Dali-Sensei, I am so sorry for causing you so much trouble,” Everyone was shocked by the kid’s actions, this demon child cared about the well-being of someone who he just met, rather than his own.
“I also take full responsibility for what Cerberus had done to your hand, please find it in your heart to forgive the both of us.”Iruma apologize so sincerely which made the teacher to who he was apologizing, backtrack in pure disbelief.
Demon children are usually selfish, uncaring creatures who would never apologize unless if their parents either force them to or they had something to gain by doing so. But the young boy who was currently kneeling down at Dali-Sensei was different than the average demon child. Iruma was not only apologizing but admitting to his mistakes as well, while not being asked by his father to do so.
“Your fine Iruma-Kun, I accept your apology. Now, how about we let Professor Blushenko take a look at your nose very quickly,” Dali propose, not noticing the small drop of blood from Iruma’s nose had fallen into his wound.
While the Healing Professor was treating Iruma, Dali-sensei observed his hand in curiosity and amazement as his hand began to smoke while producing a wonderful mouth-watering scent. Before Dali-sensei’s very eyes, his wound healed at an impossible rate that most healing spells wouldn’t be able to do.
“Okay, now it’s your turn, Professor Dali,” Blushenko stated once he was done healing Iruma’s nose.
“No need, look!”Dali then held out his healed hand which made Blushenko widen his eyes in fascination.
“But how is that even possible, you don’t have a healing ability,” Blushenko stated in confusion while examining his colleague’s hand.
Dali-Sensei only tilted his head in confusion.
“I just assume you had advanced your bloodline magic or something like that,” Dali commented before both he and Blushenko turned their attention to the smiling child who was currently watching the video that Oswell recorded on what just transpired from his phone.
“Only being 5 years old and yet already being this good at healing others, is simply astonishing,” Blushenko stated while looking at Kalego’s son in fascination.
Before Professor Blushenko had the chance to talk to the 5-year-old, Iruma had already entered the school while holding his father’s hand.
—-000
All of the students in Kalego’s classroom stopped talking and instantly turned their attention to the teacher who had just entered the room, with a small child.
“What the,” all the students wonder on why their scary homeroom teacher has such an adorable child following his every step.
“Before you, hopeless idiots bombarded me with useless questions, I’ll cut to the chase. Class, this is my son, Iruma, he will be staying with us so he can witness what I have to deal with every single day. So we won’t be homeless and have plenty of food on the table. If you have any protests of having my son around during today’s lesson, speak now,” Kalego demanded coldly in which none of his students made a single peep.
“Hi, It’s nice to meet you all today, I’m Naberius Iruma.”The young child greeted shyly.
The entire class wonder, How the hell are you guys even related? Kalego walked to an empty desk in front of the class and put his son in the tall seat.
The boy put a small green backpack on top of the desk. The students only watch in mild curiosity when their small guest then pulled out a notebook and a mechanical pencil. “I’m ready for today’s lesson Papa!” He giggled before clicking his pencil a couple of times.
“He probably takes 99.9 percent from his mother’s genes while only taking 00.1 percent from his father’s genes,” A male student with black hair and red eyes commented to a female demon who was sitting next to him.
“Either that or he was switched at birth,” The female student responded before getting up from her seat.
“Hey Iruma, can you tell us what your mama is like? She must be a really nice lady to give birth to such a cute child,” The female student stated while clapping her hands together sweetly.
“I don’t have a mom,” The boy answered honestly which made the room fill with awkward silence.
Before the female student had the chance to apologize for asking about a sensitive topic, Iruma started to speak again
“Sure, I wonder what would my life be like if I did have a mom.
But I love my papa very much, even if he can be grumpy and be a little too strict sometimes, he still takes great care of me and I appreciate him for all he has done for me. And plus my papa isn’t the only demon who loves and cares about me; Balam, Grandpa, and Opera are all demons who love me very much.
So as long I got the 4 of them in my life, I’m perfectly fine being motherless,” Iruma declare without a care in the world. Iruma was now confused when all the students who were around him, especially the girl who had asked him about his mom, had small tears running down all of their faces.
“That was so beautiful, I wish you were my son or at least my little brother,” The girl said while hugging the small boy.
The boy’s father then clears his throat loudly to get the female student's attention.
“Ms.Kokari, I would appreciate it if you went back to your seat so I could begin today’s lesson.”Professor Kalego exclaimed with narrow eyes.
“Sorry Kalego-Sensei,” The girl bowed before returning to her seat.
To everyone's surprise and amazement, the 5-year-old in front of them was taking notes and seemed to be following along with today’s lesson. After the school bell rang, Iruma jumped down from his chair and presented his notes to his father.
The students passing by the father-son duo, briefly peak at the young child’s well-written notes for a 5-year-old.
The notebook had a few bolded words along with mostly comprehensible sentences and a few drawings that went along with today’s lesson.
“Okay, now I believe this little guy is your son, just how advanced is this kid?”The same male student from earlier asked Kalego while flipping through Iruma’s notebook in fascination.
“Say Iruma, since I didn’t properly introduce myself. you should know the owner of this handsome mug.” The male student say while winking.
“ I’m Andro M. Rock and how old are you, Iruma?” Rock asked before handing the notebook back to the child.
“5 years old,” Iruma responded while holding up 5 fingers.
“Perfect, I actually have a little brother who is around the same age as you. His name is Jazz and I love teasing the kid to death, here’s a picture of him.”Rock stated before pulling up a recent picture of his little brother from his phone.
“Wow, he looks just like you,” Iruma said with stars in his eyes.
Rock only chuckles lightly at the young boy’s statement.
“He wishes, by the time when he’s all grows up I’m still going to be the better-looking one out of the 2 of us-ouch” Rock declare smugly before a hand karate chopped the top of his head.
“You should cut your little brother some slack, Rock-Kun,” A female demon with black and blue hair stated in a disapproving tone.
She then waved in Iruma’s direction while smiling at the child.
“Your Kokari, the pretty student who wanted me as your little brother,” Iruma announced while pointing his finger at the mix-colored-hair demon.
“I’m glad you remember my name and thank you for the compliment, Iruma-Kun,” Kokari said before bending down and patting the boy’s head affectionately.
Chapter 8: Sick
Chapter Text
“Iruma, are you awake? You're going to be late for your first day of school.”Kalego stated while making his way to where his son’s room was located.
“I’m almost done changing, just give me a few more minutes,” Iruma responded as he struggle to put on his school uniform.
Before Kalego could touch the doorknob, Iruma had already opened his bedroom door.
“I’m ready Father,” Iruma said weakly.
Noticing his son’s flushed cheeks, Kalego bends down and puts his hand on top of Iruma’s forehead.
“You are staying home today,” Kalego declares before picking up his son underneath his armpits.
“No, I need to be there for orientation,” Iruma tried to protest before going into a short coughing fit.
“Iruma, you are staying home from school and that’s final. I’ll inform your teachers that you won’t be able to attend school for a while. Just get some rest my little pup,” Kalego stated before tucking his son back into his bed.
-x-
Kalego honestly didn’t know what to do for the first time in his life as he stared at his son’s flushed face. Sweat pooled from Iruma’s head as his breaths were heavy and hard.
It started with a mild fever, sore throat, runny nose, and coughing fits that didn’t concern Kalego at first. But now, it’s been almost a week and his son’s fever hadn’t gone down, it only got worse. What concerned Kalego the most about his son’s health were the strange red spots covering Iruma’s body and his fever had gotten so bad to the point that he started to hallucinate.
Sure, Iruma had been sick before but never for such a long period of time. He wasn’t eating and could barely keep anything down when he did, not even water.
“Iruma, can you drink more water,” Kalego asked while rubbing circles around the boy’s back.
“Do I have ta, my tummy hurts,” Iruma said while winching in pain.
“Yes, you need to drink lots of water when you're sick. Just take a little sip, please,” Kalego pleaded.
Not able to refuse any request when someone said the word ‘please’ Iruma then took a tiny sip of the glass of water that was in his father’s hands.
After just a few sips Iruma pulled his head away from the glass. “No more please,” he whined.
“Good enough, just get some sleep my little pup,” Kalego said while brushing the strands of blue hairs off his son’s face.
Iruma smiled as he quickly fell asleep soundly, at least his father was here to take care of him.
“I’m going to get you some fresh water for your forehead,” Kalego said after picking up a small bowl that was full of room-temperature water.
All of the demons who were currently waiting outside of Iruma’s bedroom, turn to Kalego when he exit the boy’s chambers.
“Kalego, he’s not getting better,” Opera stated gloomily.
“I know. I just don’t know what to do, I can’t bring him to a normal doctor because of his human traits,” Kalego retorted while running a hair through his messy unwashed hair.
“Kalego, I think it’s time to take Iruma to a hospital,” Sullivan stated with nothing but seriousness in his voice.
“Don’t you think I want to,” Kalego snapped at the Chair Demon before letting his back slide down on the wall.
Kalego then buried his face in both of his arms, not caring he was acting vulnerable in front of the most powerful demons he knew.
“If only I had mated with a demon, then Iruma would never face the struggles of being pretty much a human being. Iruma deserves a better father than having such a worthless demon as one,” Kalego mutters in pure despair and regret.
“If you had never fallen in love with that human, then Iruma would have never existed. You're a wonderful father Kalego-kun, you pretty much single handily raised such a smart, kind, and well-respected child,” Opera said sincerely while bending to the curl-up demon.
While Kalego was still in his depressed state, his phone started ringing.
Kalego immediately pick up the call when he saw Balam’s name pop up on the screen.
“Kalego, I finally figure out what illness Iruma has,” Balam announced through the phone, while he was currently in his research room.
“What is it,” Kalego demanded before switching to speaker phone.
“Chickenpox,” Balam diagnosed which made all of the demons turn their head in confusion.
“Do you mean Demonpox,” Opera questioned, remembering they caught Demonpox during their childhood.
“No, Chickenpox is pretty much the human version of Demonpox. But instead of having black spots that usually cover one’s body that has the Demonpox. Chickenpox is a very common disease that humans can catch, especially during childhood.
So if my theory is correct, we should use the same treatments as if Iruma has Demonpox,” Balam explained.
“And how do we do that, I never had Demonpox before,” Kalego stated before Opera's ears perked up in excitement, happy to relay their experience of the disease.
“Calamine lotion, a cool bath with baking soda in it, and uncooked oatmeal help to relieve the itch, as for the fever. Iruma’s fever would most likely go down in about a week or 2, and if it doesn’t then we should take Iruma to the hospital,” Opera informed the father before heading in the direction where Kalego’s food pantry was.
“I’ll draw an oatmeal bath for Iruma,” Was all Opera said.
After Balam finally gave his son a diagnosis, Kalego finally felt comfortable enough to go back to Babyls after missing work for a whole week.
Much to Kalego and everyone’s relief, Iruma’s fever had finally gone down in the second week of him having chickenpox. For the first time ever, Kalego allowed Opera to be alone with his son since Opera has the most experience dealing with Demonpox than Iruma’s nanny.
Opera took their duties as Iruma’s temporary caregiver very seriously. Opera changed Iruma’s head cloths and check his temperature every 2 hours. Once Iruma’s stomach was finally able to consume food, Opera cooked an easy digest soup and spoon-fed the boy.
Once Iruma’s appetite started to return, Opera then started adding chicken and noodles to Iruma’s soup, rather than just giving the boy nothing but broth. And lastly, the red whelps that use to litter the boy’s body, were almost completely faded away.
Another week had passed and now Kalego, Sullivan, and Opera were currently in Iruma’s bedroom while looking over the sleeping boy.
“98.6,” Kalego read out what the thermometer showed.
“Opera,” Kalego said, which made the cat demon's tail wag side to side in dissipation.
“Yes Kalego-Kun,” Opera responded.
Opera’s eyes widen in surprise when Kalego held his hand out.
“Thank you Opera-Senpai, you took very great care of my son,” Kalego admitted begrudgingly, not ever thinking he would ever thank the person who use to make his life a living hell.
“Your welcome, Kalego-Kun,” was all Opera said while accepting Kalego’s gratitude with glee.
Chapter 9: First Day of School
Chapter Text
“Class, we have a new student today,” a female teacher wearing a green dress stated before Iruma entered the room.
“Hello, my name is Naberius Iruma and it is nice to meet all of you,” Iruma greeted his classmates before bowing. Nobody really cares about getting a new kid, so the first graders didn’t pay a lot of attention to the blue-hair-child.
Since Iruma had already missed the first 3 weeks of Elementary school, pretty much all of the kids he was around had already established their social groups.
So that’s why Iruma sat by himself during lunch, not wanting to mingle with the other students.
This was the first time he was around kids his age and he didn’t know the first thing about who to socialize with. He also did the same thing at recess, which was Iruma didn’t make any type of effort to interact with any of the kids.
Then a blink of an eye, Iruma’s first day of Elementary was over and now his father was currently waiting outside of the building to pick him up.
Only one thing ran through Iruma’s mind about his new school life, school is very lonely and he doesn’t like being alone.
“Do you like your new school Iruma?” Kalego asked.
Not wanting his father to worry about him, Iruma decides to lie for the sake of his father.
“It was a fun and new experience, Father,” Iruma said with a fake plastered smile on his face.
Iruma’s second and third day of school was pretty much the same as his first day but with one difference.
Almost all of his classmates started to order and demanded stuff from him because they realize the blue-haired boy was a total pushover.
They force Iruma to give them his lunch money, do their assignments, and left out the naive child on pretty much any game they were playing.
And being the quiet new kid, Iruma was also an easy target for bullies.
A particular red skin demon child with yellow eyes made fun of Iruma because of the fact he looked nothing like his father.
“Haha, your mother slept with another demon and your father is stupid to take care of a child that isn’t even his,” The demon child stated while pointing his finger at Iruma.
“I am the blood son of my father,” Iruma retorted with clenched fists.
“Then prove it by using the same bloodline magic from the Naberius Clan,” another demon child pipes up smugly.
“My bloodline magic is too dangerous without my father’s supervision,” Iruma exclaims, remembering what Cerberus had done to Dali-sensei’s hand.
“You're just making excuses because you were created through cheating,” The same red-skinned demon declares before picking up a decent size rock.
“Liers like you deserve to be punished,” The demon child then threw the rock in Iruma’s direction.
Before the rock could make contact with Iruma’s body, an older boy with turquoise hair and round glasses caught the rock with only one of his hands.
“Leave,” The older boy utters while glaring at the younger kids.
The younger kids follow the older child’s orders by running as fast as their legs could carry them.
“Hi I’m Amy Kirio, what’s your name?” Kirio asked with a warm smile.
“Iruma,” Iruma responded shyly.
“Nice to meet you Iruma, I've been observing you a lot during recess time and I notice all of the other children don’t treat demons like us that well,” Kirio stated while frowning slightly.
“Yeah, but it’s fine,” Iruma responded with shrug shoulders.
“Say, Iruma how about you hang out with me during recess from now on,” Kirio says before holding a hand out.
Iruma then accepted Kirio’s outstretched hand.
“Okay,” Iruma agree instantly, happy to finally have someone to play with.

“Class, due to the school being a little short-handed because of a recent outbreak of Demonpox, we’re going to have today’s dance lesson with your upperclassmen,” the teacher informed her students.
Then students from the grade above them started filling the spacious room before the teacher ordered everyone to find a partner for today’s lesson.
Then all of the boys who were currently in the gymnasium started surrounding a tall girl with bright orange hair.
“Ameri, please choose me as your partner,” A boy with green skin said with hearts in his eyes.
“No Ameri, I’m a much better dancer than this ogre, choose me instead” Another boy with cow horns exclaims before glaring at the green skin child. The 2 boys then fought over who they were going to dance with the most popular girl in their grade.
“Lady Ameri,” A smooth gentle voice caught the attention of the 3 demons.
All of the girls from both grades then gushed over the pink-haired child who was walking in the direction where Ameri was standing.
The pink-hair boy then had one knee on the ground.
“Lady Azazel Ameri, the heiress of the Azazel Family. I, Asmodeus Alice, think it would only be fitting that you dance to someone with the same status as you.” Alice declares confidently while bowing.
Wanting to choose her own dance partner, Ameri made eye contact with the only boy who wasn’t trying to win over her.
At the same time when the teacher started playing a fast pace song, Ameri grabbed Iruma by his hands.
“I’m Ameri,” Ameri introduces herself to the shorter child.
“I’m Iruma,” Iruma responded while blushing slightly since this was the first time ever that a girl was talking to him.
Iruma then spins the taller girl around a few times as they do in real ballroom dances.
“Nice to meet you Iruma-Kun, I see you're quite a good dancer for someone your age,” Ameri commented, surprised at the younger child’s dance skills.
“Thank you Ameri-senpai, Opera had prepared me for today’s lesson when I told them that our school will be having ballroom dance classes today,” Iruma exclaims proudly, before gracefully spinning his partner from above her head with her hand.
Iruma then had one hand on Ameri’s back before leaning her body into a dip at the same time when the music stopped playing. All of the students and teachers then started to huddle around the 2 demons, which cause both Ameri and Iruma to blush from all of the attention they were receiving.
But even if he was embarrassed, Iruma still enjoy the praise he was finally receiving from his peers. While being distracted, Iruma didn’t notice when a certain pink-haired demon was glaring at him.
When the school bell rang, all of the kids left the building since it was time for recess.
While Iruma was enjoying playing in the sandbox with Kirio, the same pink-haired boy from dance class tapped Iruma on his shoulder.
“I’m Asmodeus Alice and I was the one who was supposed to dance with Lady Ameri,” Alice stated before conjuring up a small ball of fire in his palms.
“I challenge you to a dual Naberius Iruma so we can see which one of us is the best,” Alice declares before launching a fire attack toward Iruma’s direction.
Not wanting a fight to break out against the boy now known as Alice, Iruma dodges each fire attack that was aimed at him.
After 5 minutes of watching Iruma dodging every flame attack that was launched at him, Kirio decided to help the younger child by using his bloodline magic.
Kirio then puts an invisible barrier in front of Alice so that his flame attack would recoil on himself.
But sadly for Kirio, his magic wasn’t strong enough since Alice’s flame magic easily broke through his barrier. When Kirio coughs up blood from using too much of his small mana reserves, made something snap in Iruma.
“Kirio!” Iruma cried out the older boy's name in worry.
Seeing someone get hurt for helping him, Iruma finally decided to put the arrogant flame user in his place.
“This whole dispute started all because of a disagreement with dance partners, how about I fix that.” Iruma then scans at the kids who surround him.
“Does anyone know the song; Lead your Partner?” Iruma asked before a girl with bright green hair and curly white horns raised her hand.
“I do, I do, Me and my mommy loves dancing to that song all the time. Do you want me to play it for you,” The green-haired girl asked while bouncing up and down.
“Yes please,” Iruma responded while turning his attention back to his opponent.
The green-haired girl then magically summoned speakers out of her pockets before attaching them to her phone.
Soon as the music started playing, Iruma leaps in Alice’s direction and grabs the pink-haired boy by the collar of his shirt. Ballroom dancing wasn’t the only type of dance style that Opera had taught Iruma. The cat demon also taught the young boy another dance style that was actually disguised as a martial art lesson.
“How about I’ll be your dance partner instead,” Iruma said a little too sweetly without breaking eye contact with Alice.
Remembering what Opera had demonstrated to him, Iruma had one hand on Alice’s back while making both his and Alice’s other hands completely stretched out together from one side of their torsos.
Not able to keep up with Iruma’s movements, Alice easily falls onto his butt after his opponent easily sweeps him by the leg.
(Lead Your Partner; By Sing a Bit of Harmony)
“Now, STEP, STEP, & TURN!” Iruma began singing along to the song while skipping backward with only one foot.
When Alice lunged at Iruma again, Iruma somehow got the pink-haired child’s chest to press against his. And once again, Alice fell on his ass after Iruma sweep him by the feet.
After Iruma manages to embrace Alice’s body into a tight bear hug, Iruma then kicks out one of his legs before shifting his weight to Alice’s side. Which made both Iruma and Alice fall onto the ground, but Iruma positioned his body where Alice would absorb most of the impact.
Alice honestly didn’t know what pissed him off the most, the fact that a kid smaller than him is beating him in a dual without any magic. Or the fact that the same kid is also singing in perfect harmony while kicking his ass.
Not wanting to be humiliated in front of his peers any longer, Alice decides to channel all of his mana into a sword that was made out of fire. Iruma only smoothly side-stepped to the right when he saw Alice sprinting with the sword made completely out of fire.
What Iruma didn’t know, a blond girl with black horns was standing behind him and was about to get hit by the fire weapon.
“Lookout!” Iruma shouted before subconsciously wrapping his arms around Alice’s waist.
Iruma’s body then bends at a perfect 90 degrees with Alice still in his arms. Even if it wasn’t part of the dance choreography Opera had shown him, Iruma had executed a perfect German suplex on Asmodeus Alice.
The kids who surrounded the 2 demons erupted into loud cheering at the sight in front of them. The timid and quiet boy had just defeated one of the strongest kids in their grade.
Ignoring the praises his classmate was giving him, Iruma took it upon himself to take the unconscious boy to the nurse’s office.
While Iruma was sitting in the nurse’s office, the kid who he just knock out had just woken up from being unconscious for around 5 minutes.
Before Iruma had the chance to apologize to his classmate, Alice got out his bed before kneeling down in Iruma’s direction.
“I am now at your service Iruma, you had easily outmatched me from our dual and you even had the heart to carry me to the nurse’s office. I, Asmodeus Alice am truly grateful for your kind deed, demon law declares that the losing party must serve the winner,”
Alice then looked up at Iruma.
“I plead my loyalty to you, ask anything you want from me, your wish is my command. Master Iruma,” Alice announce which made Iruma completely speechless, not knowing how to react to the pink-haired boy’s declaration.

Chapter 10: Iruma's Uncle
Chapter Text
“Iruma looks at this,” Alice said while pointing at a blue flyer that was pinned up the school’s news board.
The bright attention-grabbing flyer read “For anyone who wants to show off their talents, please enter in this year's school’s talent show, all grade levels are welcome to enter,”
“Iruma-chi should totally enter the talent show,” A familiar green-haired girl announce which made the 2 demons turn their heads at the new voice.
“Hi I’m Clara, I was the girl who played music while you were kicking Pinky’s butt over there,” Clara then pointed a finger at Alice.
“For your information Clara, I lost the fight with grace,” Alice tries to defend himself.
Clara just ignored the enrage pink-haired demon while she focused all of her attention on Iruma.
“Anyway Iruma-chi, I think you have a good shot of winning the talent show, you have a nice singing voice or maybe we can do a duet together,” Clara then sang a random song while botching most of the lyrics.
“That sounds a lot of fun, but I prefer to perform on the piano by myself,” Iruma admitted while scratching the back of his head shyly.
“Oh, that makes you tough competition then, but let's see who is the most talented in this school,” Clara said with her chest puffed up.
“You’re on Clara,” Iruma responded while giving her a thumbs up.
She then started playing with her fingers while blushing. “But can we still play during recess since you look like a lot of fun to be around with?”
Clara knew that it was a stupid question to ask, she was asking her rival to play with her during recess. Even if Clara wasn’t Iruma’s rival, nobody would want to hang out with such an annoying girl like her anyway.
The only reason why she is asking Iruma to be her playmate now is because it would hurt a lot less than if she asked him later.
“Of course, you can, and if there’s anything I can help you with your act, you don’t have to be afraid to ask me,” Iruma’s words made Clara burst into tears, happy at the fact she doesn’t need to give Iruma stuff so that he would spend time with her.
“Why are you crying Clara, did I say something wrong?” Iruma asked as he tries to figure out what caused Clara’s sudden outburst.
“It’s nothing,” She then grabs Iruma by his wrist at the same time when the bell rang.
“Let’s play Iruma-Chi,” Clara said while grinning brightly, happy to make her true first buddy. -x-
“Oh Opera-Sama, I just can’t wait until little Iruma blows away the competition with his greatness. Do you have all of the cameras recording?” Lord Sullivan asked while shaking the cat servant in excitement.
“Yes Sir, I got cameras pointing at 26 different angles, just like you requested,” Opera responded while bouncing their own leg in excitement.
“I hope Iruma-Kun does well, he told me he has been practicing 3 hours a day on his act for the past month,” Balam commented, remembering all of the times he watch Iruma practice in the comfort of either his house or at Babyls’s music room.
“Either way, my son is definitely more talented than most of the kids who had already performed. I honestly don’t know which act was worst, the kid who covered a song with armpit farts, or the kid who cracked walnuts with his ass. I guess I have chosen the wrong school for my son,” Kalego said while shaking his head in shame.
“But remember Mr.Azazel’s daughter's demonstration of her martial art skills? I thought that was pretty impressive, especially for a kid at her age. And don’t forget about the Orobas family’s son, I think young Coco had a wonderful singing voice,” Balam stated before the stage crew brought out a piano.
As the stage crew was setting up the large instrument, Kalego then felt someone sit beside him.
“Did I miss my own nephew’s performance?” The demon sitting next to him asks.
Kalego stiffen when he heard the familiar voice of someone he hadn’t seen or contacted in a long time.
“Narnia, what the hell are you doing here of all places?” Kalego demanded in a hushed voice.
“What do you mean, Iruma, the nephew that I never knew even existed was the one who invited me to watch him play the piano for his school’s talent show,” Narnia responded nonchalantly.
“I understand that much Brother, but how did you come in contact with Iruma?” Kalego asked since there’s a reason why he never mention his half-human son to his human-hating brother.
“It’s a rather interesting story, I was passing by this school at the same time when Iruma was having recess. That was when he spotted me and mistook me for my beloved and less handsome little brother. Once I confirm that Iruma was part of the Naberius clan by asking him who his father was. I then reveal to Iruma that I was his uncle and that’s how I got a invite for today’s event,” Narnia turns his head and began glaring at his younger brother.
“But I’m still deeply disappointed in you, Kalego-Kun,” Kalego flinches at his brother’s voice, worrying about what he going to say next. Does Narnia know that Iruma isn’t a pure-blooded demon, was he going to inform Demon Border Control about Iruma's existence?
“How could you hide my adorable nephew away from me, don’t you realize how many makeup birthday gifts I need to give to that child,” Narnia stated which made Kalego sign in relief, his brother didn’t know Iruma’s true inheritance.
“For our next act, Naberius Iruma will be playing the piano,” The announcer said before a blue haired-child walked onto the stage.
“What would you be playing today, Little one,” The announcer asked before leaning the microphone near Iruma’s mouth.
“Uh-I’m going to play one of my favorite Akudol songs,” Iruma then looked up at the tall ceiling.
“This one is for you, Mayu-Sama!”Iruma announced while pointing his finger up in the air as if his favorite Evidol was watching over him.
Iruma took a deep breath before putting his small fingers on top of the piano keys.
(New Genesis By Ado).
Once Iruma was done playing the instrument, the audience got up from their seat and started clapping loudly.
“Yeah, we love you Iruma-Kun!” Lord Sullivan shouted through the crowd, which made his grandson blush a deep shade of red.
“You must be proud, little brother, your son is quite a talented pianist” Narnia commented with a slight smirk.
“I wouldn’t expect any less, Iruma is part of the Naberius clan after all,” Kalego counter back while side-eyeing his older brother.
After a few more acts later, it was finally time to announce the winners of the talent show.
“For the third-place winner, Congratulations to Ms. Ameri for her amazing martial arts demonstration,” The announcer then handed the red haired-demon a trophy.
“I’ll like to thank my father for helping me to get this achievement, if it wasn’t for him then I wouldn’t have anything for the talent show,” Ameri said through the microphone, which made a man who looks just like her hold his thumbs up.
“For our second-place winner, Congratulations to Mr. Coco for his amazing singing voice,” The announcer then handed the horse-like demon a second-place trophy.
“Thank you for the reward,” Coco thanked in a monotone voice, not really looking happy of getting second place.
“Before we reveal our grand prize winner, I like to give out the honorable mention certificates first. Please come onto the stage Asmodeus Alice and Valac Clara.”
After Alice and Clara came onto the stage, the 2 of them were then handed a piece of paper with a golden stamp in the middle of it.
“Asmodeus Alice, your demonstration of fire magic was simply breathtaking. And Valac Clara, your cover of the song Lead Your Partner really left quite an impression on the judges.” The announcer commented.
“Look Mommy, I did it, I did it, I won the talent show,” Clara said happily while waving at her mother.
“No you didn’t you idiot, honorable mention means you get praise without getting an official prize,” Alice corrected which made the bouncing girl stick her thumb down at him.
“Boo, Boo, Boo, your no fun Alicee-Kun,” Clara retorted with her cheeks puffed out.
Before a fight between the honorable mention demons could take place, the announcer opened the envelope that had the first-place winner’s name.
“And finally for our first-place winner, give a hand,” The announcer then opened the golden envelope, which made the room go into complete silence.
“Naberius Iruma!”
The blue-haired child then run onto the stage and collected the tall golden trophy, which was much larger than the third and second-place trophies.
The 3 winners and the honorable mention demons, all then took a group picture together before reuniting with their respective families.
“I did it, everyone,” Iruma said while displaying his large trophy to all of the demons who came to watch him.
“Oh my precious grandson, I already knew you could do it,” Sullivan said while hugging the small child.
“Congratulations Iruma,” Balam congratulated Iruma while patting his head.
“Congratulations Iruma-Kun, we should have a celebratory feast tonight for your wonderful accomplishment,” Opera declares, happy they have already prepared the food for the feast.
Iruma then looks up at his father with hopeful eyes.
“Did I do well Father?” Iruma asked since he cares about his father’s approval the most out of everyone in the Netherworld.
“Not bad my little pup, but your timing still needs a little work,” Kalego responded which only made his brother scoff.
“Kalego just tell your son he did great, the kid had to go against over 20 kids and half of them were either 1 to 3 years older than him,” Narnia retorted.
“He’s only a big fish in a small pond, he will receive my praise once he truly earns it,” Kalego counter back with his arms crossed.
Someone then lightly tapped Iruma on his shoulder which made the blue-haired boy turn his body around. Iruma then came face to face with the third-place winner of the talent show, who was currently holding a bouquet of flowers.
“Hi Ameri, congratulation on getting third place,” Iruma congratulated the blushing orange-haired demon.
“Uh-Hi Iruma-Kun, I just really thought your performance was kind of cool, and that's why I wanted to give these to you,” Ameri then handed the flowers her father gave her to Iruma before running away as fast as her legs could carry her.
Ameri’s father, who had watched the entire scene of his daughter giving flowers to a boy had made his glasses magically shatter.
“We might become more than just coworkers, wouldn’t say Henri-san,” Narnia commented to the orange hair demon which only got him a glare from the overprotective father.
“Iruma!” A boy wearing glasses calls out for the blue-haired child before walking near him.
“Kirio,” Iruma then started hugging the older demon child.
“Dad, this is the kid I have been talking about, he was the first kid who made me feel welcome at this school,” Iruma stated with a grin.
“Nice to meet you, Mr.Naberius, I’m Amy Kirio,” Kirio greeted politely that for some reason, didn’t settle well with Kalego.
Kalego didn’t know how to explain it, but for some reason, the weak-looking kid who had an outstretched hand didn’t seem right in Kalego’s eyes.
The boy’s demeanor and aura had made the dog that possess Kalego’s magic made the father feel like he must protect his son from this demon.
“Nice to meet you Amy Kirio,” Kalego said while returning the handshake with slight hesitation but had a neutral expression on his face.
Chapter 11: Why are you doing this to me Kirio?
Chapter Text
“Bye Dad,” Iruma said while waving at his father.
“Wait Iruma, there is something I need to tell you,” Kalego said before Iruma enter his school.
“Yes, Dad?” Iruma then turns around.
Kalego then bends to his son’s height so that he could be at eye level with the small child.
“Once the school day is over, I organized a carriage that will take you straight to Babyls,” Kalego said.
“I already know that, since today is a Monday after all,” Iruma responded not knowing why his father was mentioning this to him.
Not wanting to beat around the bush any longer, Kalego told Iruma what he had been wanting to tell him for the past couple of days. “Could you also stay away from Amy Kirio, that kid is nothing but trouble,” Kalego declares which made his son turn his head even more in confusion.
“But why, Kirio is a very nice senpai and hasn’t done anything wrong to me so why don’t you like him?” Iruma asked, not knowing if he heard his father correctly.
“I mean it Iruma, stay away from Amy Kirio. There's something up with that kid that doesn’t seem right, please just do this for my sake,” Kalego then uses the word that will make Iruma follow any order.
Even if someone’s feelings is going to get hurt, Iruma can’t refuse a request when anyone uses the word ‘please’.
“Yes, Father.” Iruma agrees before leaving his father’s side.
-x
While Iruma was playing with Alice and Clara during recess, the demon who his father had forbidden from interacting with, was now walking towards his direction.
“Hey Iruma, can you please come with me real quick?” Kirio asked with a soft smile.
Not wanting to hurt Kirio’s feelings, Iruma only follows the older demon, despite his father’s wishes of keeping his distance from the child.
“Bye Alice and Clara, Kirio needs me real quick. Just continue with our game of catch while I’m gone, I’ll be back soon as possible,” Iruma said while waving them bye.
Kirio then lead Iruma to the largest tree that was located where the playground cuts off.
“A kid accidentally kicked my ball up there and I can’t get it down,” The older child then pointed his finger at the very top of the tree.
“Can you just fly up and get the ball down yourself?” Iruma questions since he saw Kirio flying perfectly fine in the past.
“I can’t since I recently injured one of my wings and I’m too weak to climb such a large tree myself,” In perfect timing, Kirio began to cough up blood.
“Oh Iruma-kun, could you please help me get my ball back, I beg of you,” Kirio pleaded with both of his hands together.
And once again, being the hopeless pushover Iruma was, he didn’t ask any more questions when he agree to help get the ball back.
While Iruma’s back was turned against the older child, Kirio begins smirking evilly when the younger child started climbing.
*Man, this is going to be a funny prank,* Kiriwo thought to himself in glee before disappearing from the boy’s range of view.
Iruma's breaths were hard and heavy as he grab one tree branch after another. Once Iruma finally reach the top of the tree, he noted that he was mostly 10 meters high up from the ground. Iruma then began looking for the ball that could be stuck, only to realize that there was no missing ball in the first place.
Before Iruma had a chance to safely climb back down the tree, someone pushed him from behind, which caused Iruma to lose his footing.
While Iruma’s body was only feet away from hitting the ground, the demon who had pushed him wondered why the blue-haired child hadn’t used his wings already. Kirio then flies out of his hiding spot and tries to catch the falling boy, only to stop himself halfway so he could admire Iruma’s face. When Iruma hit the ground with a sicking crunch, his face was wet with tears and his eyes were puffed up red.
“Kirio help me please,” Iruma pleaded with his hand out after the older demon landed right in front of him.
Something had awakened in Kirio, something dark and wicked that cause him great pleasure of seeing the younger child in such a pitiful state.
With an expression that can describe as only pure joy, Kirio only grins while slamming his foot onto Iruma’s already broken arm.
“Ahhhh, Kirio what are you doing!” Iruma cried out in agony while trying to get Kirio’s foot off of him.
Kirio didn’t say anything as he kept on stomping on top of Iruma’s injuries while still smiling creepily “This is your fault Iruma-Kun,” Kirio spoke up for the first time in a while with his foot still on top of the smaller child’s body.
“What have I ever done to you Kirio-Senpai!” Iruma demanded with even more tears running down his face.
Kirio then suddenly stopped grinning and started glaring at his under-classmate with nothing but hatred in his turquoise eyes.
“I thought you and I were the same Iruma-Kun...Since we both are physically weak while having less magic power than the average demon. But it turns out we're worlds apart!” Kirio then stomped on top of Iruma’s pinky which made the younger child scream out in pain.
“You have family that actually loves and cares about you, despite you being a totally worthless little weakling who can’t even fly. While I have a family that wishes I was never even born just because I wasn’t born strong or great like them. Now let’s see you play the piano with these fingers,” Kirio then stepped on top of Iruma’s fingers again.
“And now you think your Mr. Popular just because you won that stupid talent show. While I still can’t get any kid besides your stupid ass to play with me during recess!” Kirio screams in anger but mostly in jealousy at Iruma while still crushing the boy’s fingers.
“Kirio I still don’t understand your problem with me, I always, and still value the time I spent with you. And I am truly sorry I made you feel bad about yourself lately. But if you want, we can start all over and forget none of this ever happened,” Iruma panted out before lifting his other hand as a peace offering.
With a smile plaster on Kirio’s face, he didn’t break eye contact with the younger child when he then crushes Iruma’s other set of fingers.
“At first I thought pushing you off that tree was a harmless prank since pretty much all demon children around your age, can already fly or at least use their wings to cushion the fall.
But watching you fall with such a look of despair on your face, had made me forget that my bloodline magic could literally save you from falling to your death. Oh, Iruma-Kun, you should of saw the pure despair on your face, hell, I’m still blushing at the beautiful image,” Kirio then bend his knees down so that he could be face to face with Iruma.
“You can try snitching to your family what I have done to you but I highly suggest you shouldn’t. My parents already don’t love me, so I wouldn’t care less if they disown me for killing a classmate. And besides what would your father think if he finds out that his son got injured so badly just because you can’t fly-.” Kirio suddenly stopped talking when he smell a mouth-watering scent that was being produced by the injured boy.
When Kirio lifts up Iruma’s shirt, he could see blood running down the child’s torso.
Without giving it a second thought, Kirio then scoops up a small amount of the boy’s blood with his index finger before licking off the red liquid.
To Kirio's shock, Iruma’s blood was the most delicious thing he had ever tasted in his entire life.
Iruma then gulps in fear when he notices the now-hungry look that was in the older demon’s eyes.
Kirio then unsheathes his fangs before biting hard into Iruma’s side, which made the younger child cry out in pure agony.
“Ahhhh, stop it! Stop it! Please Kirio! Stop it!” Iruma begs as he tries to push Kirio away from him.
“So good,” Kirio moans in pleasure while blushing.
Kirio then sinks his fangs deeper into Iruma’s skin before biting off and eating a small chunk of the younger boy’s flesh.
Without Iruma needing to chant any words, a 3 headed dog made out of lightning appears out of nowhere before attacking the demon who was causing harm to their master.
Kirio then cries out in pain while holding his bleeding eye since that was where Cerberus had clawed him.
Soon after Kirio had finally left their master alone, Cerberus then disappear into yellow smoke.
While still in a large amount of pain, Iruma managed to pick himself up and started limping to where he was previously playing with Alice and Clara.
When Iruma finally sees his 2 most favorite demons, both of them stop playing and rush to the injured boy’s side.
“Oh my Devi Iruma-chi, what happen to you?” Clara asked in worry before quickly summoning bandages from her pockets.
“I fell out of a tree,” Iruma half lied, wanting his buddies to think he fall off due to clumsiness rather than getting pushed off from their senpai.
“You look awful, I’ll get the nurse for you Master Iruma,”
Iruma then grabbed Alice by his arm so he could stop the pink hair boy from leaving.
“I’m fine Azz-Kun, can we just keep this between the 3 of us,” Iruma begged while holding back more tears from escaping from his already puff-up eyes.
“But you’re hurt Master Iruma, you need to get your wounds checked out by an adult,” Alice reasoned.
Iruma then hugged both Alice and Clara into a tight bear hug.
“It’s not as bad as it looks, plus my wings mostly cushion the fall,” Iruma lied again, trying to downplay his injuries the best he could.
“Are you sure Master Iruma?” Alice asked which made the blue hair child only nod his head.
“Yeah and besides I’m a lot tougher than I look,” Iruma then took the bandages that Clara had summoned with her bloodline magic.
“If any teachers ask where I am, tell them I’ll be in the bathroom for a while,” Before Alice and Clara could ask the blue hair boy any more questions, Iruma had already started running in the direction where the school’s bathroom was.

Chapter 12: Mommy-noki
Chapter Text
Once Iruma took off his shirt inside the privacy of a bathroom stall, he began wrapping bandages around both his arms that were bent in different directions. While Iruma was treating his injuries, a huge wave of nausea hit him which made his vision blurry for a couple of seconds. Iruma was grateful he came into the bathroom when he did because now he had a place to flush away any traces that he threw up.
When Iruma flushed the toilet that use to have his vomit floating inside of it, he then carefully wrap each of his broken fingers with his teeth before leaving the small stall.
Iruma then walked to where the sink was located and began washing and cleaning off the traces of dirt and blood that was on his face and body.
“I’m fine, I just need to be strong like Father,” Iruma gave himself a pep talk before exiting the bathroom.
For the rest of the school day, Iruma acted perfectly normal enough that none of his teachers raise any concern about the boy’s well-being. In Iruma’s eyes, his teacher’s negligence had benefited him.
During his carriage ride to Babyls, Iruma had to throw up 2 times into his lunch box and replace the bandages that were around his torso.
“Are you alright, Naberius Iruma ?” The demon driving the carriage asked when Iruma hadn’t left the carriage after they arrived at Babyls 5 minutes ago.
Iruma then quickly finishes wrapping his bleeding torso before putting on his school jacket and a pair of gloves he had Clara made for him, despite it being summertime.
“I’m ready, sorry I took so long,” Iruma said after opening the carriage’s door with a forced smile.
The small boy then entered the large school alone with his backpack in tow.
Iruma then stopped at the room where he needs to be. Once Iruma knocks on the large door with his non-injured knee, he then could hear footsteps from the other side.
“Hello, Dali-sensei, is my father here?!” Iruma greeted the teacher.
“Good afternoon Iruma-Kun. Kalego-Kun is still currently on a field trip with the second year so you’re going to be in the teacher lounge for a while, would you like some juice in the meantime? ” Dali asked before letting the boy inside the spacious room.
“I’m good,” Iruma responded while shaking his head.
When Iruma entered the lounge, the teachers who were currently in the room raised an eyebrow at the young child’s attire.
“Isn’t it a little too hot to be wearing winter gloves this time of the year,” Marbas commented half-heartily.
Not wanting to ask the green hair girl for too much, Iruma didn’t complain when Clara gave him a pair of pink gloves that were made for the winter.
Looking around the room, an excuse popped up in Iruma’s head when he saw Oswell’s white gloves that the teacher wears every single day.
“I thought Mr.Oswell’s fashion sense is kind of cool so that's why I’m wearing any pair of gloves I could find in my home,” Iruma said with his heart racing, hoping no one will ask him any more questions.
Oswell then walked to where Iruma was standing and ruffle the boy’s hair playfully.
“I’m glad someone finally understands fashion around here,” Oswell said with pride in his voice.
But little that Oswell knows, the real reason why Iruma was smiling wasn’t because of his approval. The real reason why Iruma was smiling was because he came up with such a great lie in a matter of seconds. Iruma was also relieved that his lie-detecting godfather wasn’t currently in the room. After 10 minutes had passed, some of the teachers started to notice that their young charge was acting strange.
Usually, when Iruma is waiting for his dad, he would either work on his homework, doodle on a piece of paper, read a book, or at least listen to music from his phone.
But the usual proactive boy was literally doing nothing, Iruma was just sitting on a stool and staring at the painted wall with a blank expression on his face.
If only they knew how hard it was for Iruma to even sit properly as the pain that he was experiencing right now was completely unbearable in his opinion. Iruma felt dizzy, his head hurt and his whole body hurts like hell, and it was even a challenge to keep his eyes open
Feeling a moist liquid being produced around his torso, Iruma quickly but sneakily unbuttoned his jacket and saw where most of his white undershirt was now soaked with his blood.
“Oh crap,” Iruma mutters under his breath, which got the teacher nearest to him attention.
“Is there something wrong Iruma,” Oswell asked before laying down his pen.
Iruma immediately buttoned up a few buttons from his jacket before jumping off from the tall stool.
“Oh crap, I just remember I was supposed to be in Balam’s room today. He has been wanting to show me his newest picture book he just created,” Iruma lies as he grabs his backpack while not making any eye contact with any of the adults who were currently occupying the room.
“But Professor Balam is currently on a combat field trip with the first years,” Raim commented from her seat, now becoming suspicious of the young child.
“Well-uh,” Iruma's face then turns a dark shade of red.
With no other option, Iruma decided to make up an embarrassing lie so that he could get the teachers off his back.
“I actually drank a little too much water today which cause me to have a little accident in my pants,” Iruma mutters with his head lowered down in shame.
“Do you need someone to help you in the bathroom?” Blushenko asked.
Iruma shook his head while holding both of his arms out in protest.
“No, I can manage it on my own,” Iruma declares before booking out of the teacher's lounge, not giving any of the adults a chance to ask him any more questions.
Soon after Iruma left the room, all of the teachers went back to their work.
While Oswell was grading his student's tests, his nose picked up a wonderful scent from where Iruma was sitting a few minutes ago.
“I wonder what type of perfume Iruma used because his stool is drenched with such a wonderful scent, maybe I should ask him once he comes back,” Oswell thought out loud before continuing to fill out his paperwork.
Dali-sensei was confused by his coworker’s comment because he didn’t smell any type of fragrance from Iruma when the young child first enter the room.
Dali-sensei then got up from his chair and exam the stool that was near Oswell’s desk.
With only one simple sniff, Dali knew he had smelled the sweet and delicious scent before, he just couldn’t remember where it had come from.
Memories of Dali’s second encounter with Iruma had started flowing through his mind when he saw a small drop of red liquid running down one of the stool’s legs.
“We need to find Iruma,” Dali declares out of nowhere which got all of his coworker's attention.
“Professor Dali with all due respect, I’m sure he doesn’t want us to help him with his bathroom troubles,” Marbas voiced out.
Dali then held up the wooden stool that had the red liquid on it.
“I think he might be hurt, I found his blood on this stool. And I know 100 percent it’s his blood because of the unique, yet mouth-watering scent that Iruma’s blood produces,” Dali stated which made Oswell scratch his chin in thought.
“Now that you mention it, Iruma’s undershirt usually had short sleeves but I notice his shirt today was a lot longer than usual. And the sleeves of his undershirt look a lot alike bandages-” Oswell then facepalmed himself at the fact that Iruma’s arms were most likely covered in bandages.
Meaning the young boy’s condition is a lot more serious than a little scrap on the knee.
“Fuck, why are we standing around here and doing nothing. There is a young child in our care who probably needs medical attention!” Oswell stated before rushing out of his seat, not caring about the multiple papers he cause to fly off his desk.
All the teachers did what the blond demon did, by quickly rushing out of their desks which cause multiple papers and documents to fly up in the air.
-x-
Iruma clenches his head in pain as he uses a wall to support himself as he struggles to breathe.
Coming to the conclusion that his body couldn’t make it to the bathroom, Iruma decided to hide in an unlocked storage closet instead. Not able to reach the closet’s light switch, Iruma instead uses his small phone screen as a light source when he treats his wounds.
Iruma gently took off his jacket and shirt before trying to treat his injuries in pretty much pitch-black darkness.
No matter how many times Iruma pressed a washcloth against his skin, the bleeding from his side wouldn’t stop. Feeling another rush of dizziness through his head, Iruma lost his balance which causes a couple of brooms and cleaning supplies to fall on top of him.
“I wonder what I should cook for dinner today?” Momonoki thought to herself while she currently walked through Babyls long hallway.
Momonoki then stopped walking when she hear ruffling noises from a nearby storage closet. She then jump into action when she heard a loud thud that sounded like multiple things like brooms and bottles falling onto the ground. “Who’s in here!” Momonoki demanded after slamming open the door, only to realize the room was completely pitch black.
When Momonoki flipped on the light switch, her eyes widen in horror when she saw Iruma curled up in a fetus position while laying on top of what looked to be blood.
“Iruma!” Momonoki cried out the boy’s name in worry before kneeling down at the child who was deathly pale.
At the same time when the white-haired woman cradled the small child in her arms, she then could hear multiple footsteps running in her direction.
“There he is,” Dali said as he and the rest of the teachers ran to where Momonoki was currently standing.
All of the teachers; Dali, Blushenko, Marbas, Oswell, and Raim’s eyes widen in horror on just how severe the boy’s condition truly was.
Since Iruma was completely shirtless, they could see the multiple bones that were poking out of the boy’s skin. Iruma’s skin tone was a lot of shades lighter, while his face was completely flush red.
Due to Iruma not wearing his gloves, they could see where each of Iruma’s fingers was poorly wrapped with nothing else but blood-soaked bandages.
But what really worried the teachers was the large bite mark on Iruma’s side, which looks like someone had eaten part of the boy’s flesh.
Even if Iruma wasn’t a student of Babyls, the teachers still consider the sweet child as their treasure. And since Iruma was part of their treasure, they were angry at the demon who dares hurt their precious treasure.
“Give Iruma to me, we need to take him to the nurse’s office,” Blushenko stated while holding his hands out.
Before Momonoki was about to hand over the child to her coworker, Iruma then grabbed onto her clothes.
“No please, I don’t want to be separate from Mommy-noki,” Iruma utter quietly before passing out.
Something awakens in Momonoki when the young child accidentally called her Mommy since her name does sound similar to that word.
But even if the kid only mispronounced her name, Momonoki still had the sudden urge to protect Iruma as if he was her son by flesh and blood. And the fact Iruma only wants to be in her arms and no one else, only fuels Momonoki’s maternal instincts even more.
“I’ll carry Iruma in the meantime,” Momonoki said before running in the direction where the infirmary was located with the kid still in her arms.
While the teachers were making their way to the nurse’s office, someone's ringtone then went off which happens to be Professor Dali’s phone that had Kalego’s name on the screen.
“Where the hell are you guys, the teacher lounge is completely empty!” That was the first thing Kalego said on the phone.
“I’ll explain later, but you need to go to the infirmary room right now! Your son’s health doesn’t look so good,” Dali said before rudely hanging up on the scariest and strongest teacher of Babyls.
Chapter 13: Replay
Chapter Text
A handful of demons were huddled around Iruma, who was currently unconscious while being connected to an I.V drip.
All the teachers turn their heads when the nurse's office’s door burst open, which reveals a grumpy Kalego.
“You guys better not be overreacting, I’m sure my son is perfectly fine-” Before Kalego could go into a long rant, he immediately stopped talking when he saw the horrible condition his son was in.
“Iruma!” Kalego cried out his son's name before rushing to his bedside.
The distressed father then turns his head a perfect 180 degrees completely expressionless.
“Who did this?”Kalego asks in a rather calm tone, which only freaks out his coworkers.
A vicious-looking 3 headed dog made out of lighting then appears next to the expressionless father.
“I’m sure you didn’t hear me the first time.” A darker more sinister aura surrounded Kalego as he repeated his question again but a lot louder.
“Who did this!” Kalego screamed so loud to the point where all of the demons currently in the entire building wondered who pissed off Kalego to this extent.
Professor Dali decided to speak up, despite being scared shitless of the teacher he use to mentor.
“W-we don’t know,” Dali said before flinching at the death glare from Kalego’s narrow, violet eyes.
Kalego then stomped towards Professor Dali and lift up the teacher by his uniform with only one hand.
“You don’t know,” Kalego began to chuckle darkly with his eyes completely shadowed by his hair.
“HOW CAN… Teachers and instructors from one of the best schools in the Netherworld couldn’t tell that a 5-year-old has multiple broken bones poking out of his tiny body. While having a large wound where it looks like someone had eaten part of my fucking son’s flesh,” Kalego bark out before lifting Professor Dali higher up from the ground.
Needing some way to release all of his pin-up rage, Kalego then socks his coworker in the face before body-slamming the teacher onto the ground.
Once Dali’s body was laying flat on the infirmary’s hard floor, Kalego then got on top of his coworker before continually punching Dali in the face.
Not wanting themselves to be caught in the crossfire of Kalego’s wrath.
All of the other teachers only stood back and watched the usual happy-go demon getting the living shit beat out of him.
Not wanting more unnecessary bloodshed, Momonoki decided she will be the one to put an end to Kalego’s tirade. “Stop it Kalego-Kun, what would Iruma think if he saw his father senselessly beating up his coworker like that!” Momonoki stated after wrapping her arms around Kalelgo’s waist.
Hearing Momonoki’s words made Kalego snap back into his senses as he let her pull his body away from Dali.
“Professor Blushenko,” Kalego utters the healer's name.
“Yes Professor Kalego,” Blushenko responded hesitantly.
“Did you find anything else not normal about my son’s anatomy,” Kalego asked while worrying if he and the other demons figure out how Iruma isn’t a full-blooded demon.
“Other than the unusual scent that his blood produces, Iruma seems a perfectly normal demon child,” Blushenko answered.
“Oh yeah, I've been needing to ask you, do healing abilities run in Iruma’s mother's family because Iruma had healed my hand before without even realizing,” Dali pipe up, which sparks all of the demons in the room's curiosity.
“I mean his blood smelled so good, I thought someone made freshly baked cookies in the teacher lounge or something delicious tasting,” Oswell commented half-heartedly, hoping he could lighten up the mood slightly.
Kalego curses when the nosey professors brought up the topic of his son’s strange-smelling blood that somehow has healing abilities as well.
“Yes and no, Iruma’s mother’s family produced blood that has healing properties even if it wasn’t their bloodline magic. And due to Iruma mostly inheriting his mother's traits, his blood is also quite unique to the average blood that demons pump,” Kalego said after taking a seat next to his son.
“Now I’ll suggest you guys leave me alone while I wait for my son to regain consciousness,” Kalego declares coldly before Momonoki took the seat next to him.
“I’ll wait too, I want to be there for Iruma-kun,” Momonoki said while blushing at the fact she gain up the courage to sit next to Kalego and at the fact Iruma’s nickname for her is still replaying in her mind.
5 hours had passed when Iruma was admitted into the nurse’s office while Lord Sullivan, Opera, and Balam were currently sitting on one side of the room. While Kalego and Momonoki sit on the side that was closest to Iruma’s bed.
“No, please, stop it,” All of the demons then turned their heads to where the voice came from.
The machines connected to Iruma began to beep at a faster pace as the boy’s body was twitching aggressively.
As if he was injected with 10 shots of espresso, Iruma suddenly jerk himself out of his bed before screaming.
“STOP IT! STOP IT! PLEASE DON’T EAT ME!”
Memories from the past events of almost being eaten alive by his own classmate rush through Iruma’s head like a tsunami as he continues to thrash around in his bed.
Not being in the right state of mind, Iruma’s fight or flight instinct cause him to bite the demon who was nearest to him.
Not caring about the pain, Kalego just let his son bite on his hand as he tries to calm the mentally unstable boy.
“Iruma it’s me your Father, your safe now. ” Kalego whispered softly into his son's ear as he rocked him gently.
“Dad,” Iruma stuttered before unclenching his jaw from his father’s hand.
Kalego let out a sigh of relief, happy that his son was finally coming back to his senses.
“Now since you are back in a comprehensible state, I just need to know,” Kalego then clasp both of his long fingers onto his son’s small shoulders.
“Why the hell did you try to hide the fact that you were severely injured from us? What if Momonoki never found you in that closet? And what if by the time when someone discovers you in Babyls’s many storage closets? You had already bled to death, do you think that’s how I want my son to die? All alone in an old and dusky closet because of your own stupidity from not informing an adult about your condition,” Kalego stated with clenched fists.
Iruma flinches at his father’s harsh tone as silent tears run down from his blue eyes.
“Professor Kalego with all due respect, I think you are being a little too harsh with your son,” Momonoki said before focusing her attention on the small child.
“How are you doing Iruma-Kun?” Momonoki asked with a warm smile on her face.
“Okay,” Iruma responded.
“That’s good to hear… Iruma can you please now tell us how you got hurt?” Momonoki asked in a stern, yet gentle tone.
“I fell out of a tree,” Iruma’s answer made Balam’s buzzer go off.
“Iruma, we're not going to think less of you if you just tell the truth,” Balam stated from where he was sitting.
Remembering that his godfather’s bloodline magic can detect lies, Iruma closes his eyes before sealing his mouth shut with his hands. Since Balam’s magic can’t work if Iruma doesn’t say anything that could trigger his Buzzer.
“Iruma, we're here for you, just tell us what happen,” Sullivan said while putting a comforting hand on Iruma’s shoulder.
Iruma shook his head as more tears started to run down his cheek.
10 minutes had already passed and Iruma didn’t make a single peak, much to everyone’s disappointment.
Kalego only sighs while pinching his forehead, not wanting to take extreme measures.
“Kokari can you please enter the room,” Kalego said before a familiar female demon walked into the room.
“Kokari?” Iruma utters the female student’s name in confusion.
Before Iruma could ask why one of Kalego’s students was currently in the nurse’s office.
Kokari had already cast a spell that causes Iruma to fall asleep with water floating on the top of his head.
“I’m sorry Iruma-Kun, but this is for your own good,” Kokari said with tears running down her face, not wanting to use her bloodline magic on the small child, due to the fact her ability involves invading Iruma’s mind.
“I have activated my bloodline magic: Water replay will allow me to replay and display Iruma’s past memories at any given time of his life,” Kokari explains before water forms a 3d layout of Iruma’s point of view.
“Wow, I see you advance your bloodline magic lately, the water figures look a lot more detail and life-like,” Balam commented in slight amazement.
“Thank you for noticing Professor Balam, I hope by the time I graduate from Babyls I can advance my bloodline magic to the point where I can display colors,” Kokari said before focusing her magic onto the small child.
“Can you take us where when I drop Iruma off at school today,” Kalego ordered, wanting to start at the very beginning when he left his son on his own.
“Yes sir,” Kokari said before stopping at the watery image where Kalego was waving his son bye.
Following her teacher's orders, Kokari fast forwarded the waterly images until they reach where Iruma was leaving for recess.
“Kokari, you can play it at a normal rate now,” Kalego said before the display played at a much slower rate than earlier.
There were currently 2 demons in the water display, Kalego recognize them as Alice and Clara.
Then another demon wearing glasses appear in the display, which happens to be the kid Kalego ordered his son to stay away from.
Since Kokari’s bloodline magic can also replay not only images but sound as well, Kalego understands why his son didn’t tell him anything.
The things that the older child had said and done to Iruma can only be described as truly despicable and disgusting.
First, the older child uses Iruma’s kindness against him by asking the young child to retreat a ball that was stuck on a tree.
And after Iruma climbs the tree with his bare hands, Kirio then pushes him and happily watches him fall to his death. Then when both demons were on the ground, Kirio then stomp on Iruma’s fingers one by one while telling him he was worthless because he couldn’t fly.
What gave the demons who were currently in the room a face of pure disgust, was when Kirio described how much joy Iruma’s face of despair brought to him.
“You can try snitching to your family what I have done to you but I highly suggest you shouldn’t. My parents already don’t love me, so I wouldn’t care less if they disown me for killing a classmate. And besides what would your father think if he finds out that his son got injured so badly just because you can’t fly-”
Those words that Kirio said to Iruma, made Kalego and the other demons understand why Iruma try his best to cover up his injuries.
Kalego then jumps out of his seat and started attacking the water double of Kirio, when the child’s watery hologram took a large chunk of Iruma’s flesh.
Kalego knew he was only splashing water around, he knew Amy Kirio wasn’t bending right in front of him and feasting on Iruma right now. But Kalego could care less, he just want to let all of his anger out for the fact his son was almost eaten alive by his own senpai.
A firm, yet strong hand caught Kalego’s fist from punching the waterly figure of the evil and sick child.
“Kalego-Kun, you need to control your emotions before you slip into an evil cycle,” Opera stated calmly while pointing their cat ears down, meaning that Opera was just as angry as Kalego.
Kalego only jerks away from Opera’s grip before returning to his seat.
The water figures started riffling before the clear liquid disperse into a large puddle of water.
“Thank you Miss Kokari, you can leave now,” Lord Sullivan said to the crying girl.
“Tell Iruma I’m truly sorry for using my bloodline magic without his permission and I hope he gets well soon,” The female student cried out before exiting the room.
Since Iruma was no longer under the effect of Kokari’s magic, he was able to open his eyes in a matter of seconds.
“What just happen?” Iruma asked in confusion, only remembering the part where Kokari had engulfed his head in water.
“Nothing much,” Kalego lied before continuing to talk.
“I’m pulling you out of school,” Kalego declares with his arms crossed.
“Until I get better, right?” Iruma questioned.
“Oh no, you're never going back to that school ever again. I’m going to home-school you until you're old enough to study at Babyls, so something like this would never happen again,” Kalego then gestured his hand to Iruma’s injuries.
“What no, I like my school, that is where I get to see Alice, Clara, and Ameri. I don’t want to say goodbye to them. Please reconsider letting me attend school again,” Iruma begged in complete devastation.
“It’s not like I’m going to deprive you of being with kids around your age. Alice, Ameri, and even Clara are welcome to come over to our house for a playdate,” Kalego promised which at least made his son stop crying.
“And since your pretty advance for your age, I’m sure some of the teachers in Babyls wouldn’t mind giving you a few lessons in their respective subject. It’s great to be a well-rounded demon in not only strength and magic but academics as well,” Momonoki’s statement made Iruma’s face brighten in excitement at the fact of receiving knowledge from some of the best teachers across the Netherworld.
“Maybe homeschooling isn’t a bad idea after all,” Iruma thought to himself in slight glee.
-x-
“Are you ready Iruma?” Kalego asked from where he standing.
“Dad, we've been practicing for almost a month, what if my wings are still not strong enough?” Iruma responded from where he was standing, which ironically was a tree branch.
“You don’t have to be afraid my little pup, I’ll save you if anything bad happens like I always do,” Kalego reassures his son from the ground. Even if he keeps telling his son that he will be able to fly like any other demon, Kalego is started to worry that his promise won’t come true.
Not knowing how much of his human traits had affected his flying abilities, Kalego honestly doesn’t know if his son can fly due to the fact that Iruma’s wings hadn’t grown that much since he was born.
“Here goes nothing,” Iruma thought to himself before jumping off the tree branch while flapping his wings.
When Iruma opens his eyes, he realizes that he was still up in the sky as his wings flapped at a much faster pace than what was considered normal.
“Dad! Look, I’m finally flying! I’m flying!” Iruma said before performing a few loops up in the air.
Kalego smile lightly before untucking his wings and joined his son up in the sky.
“Interesting, your wings flap 3 times faster than the rate for the average demon but that's kind of expected since they are very small,” Kalego stated before his son started to fly away from him.
“Let's see who can touch the clouds first,” Iruma said while giggling, already having a head start.
Normally Kalego wouldn’t participate in such meaningless games but he would make an exception, for only his son.
“You’re on my little pup,” Kalego retorted while pretending of having trouble catching up with his son, who just learn he could even fly.
Chapter 14: Going Viral
Chapter Text
It’s been almost a month since Iruma first started being homeschooled and now he is currently sitting in the teacher's Lounge while doodling in his notebook. The boy’s father wasn’t in the room because he had left for an important meeting and he wasn’t able to bring his son along.
So Kalego decided to entrust his son to the teaching staff of Babyls and luckily his coworkers didn’t mind at all doing babysitting duty since their charge was well-behaved and very obedient.
“What are you drawing Iruma-Kun?” Oswell asked while peeking over the kid’s head.
“My favorite akudol, Mayu Tomita,” Iruma responded, which made a grin spread across the teacher's face.
“You have great taste in music,” Oswell stated before pulling a seat next to the 5-year-old and began drawing with him.
“Thank you, Mr.Oswell, I love Mayu Tomita's music so much,” Iruma spoke out rather shyly to the adult sitting next to him.
“Oh, can you tell me some reasons why she is your favorite artist?”Oswell questioned with a raised eyebrow.
That question makes a switch turn in Iruma’s head from a quiet and timid to a talkative and chipper boy.
“Mayu is just amazing, she is cute, kind, talented, has an amazing voice, and overall one of the best akudol in the entire world. I remember all of her dance moves and poses, I can even play all of her songs on the Piano,” Iruma stated before doing a short dancing routine and striking the same pose as his favorite akudol.
Oswell then imitated the boy’s actions by dramatically posing like a akudol as well.
“I see you and Iruma are getting along just fine,” Momonoki commented while lightly grinning at the 2.
“Yep, it’s been a while since I could happily interact with a Mayu Tomita Fan, ever since she was stabbed to death a couple of years ago no one wanted to talk about her anymore,” Oswell offhandedly comments carelessly in front of the child.
“She’s dead,” Iruma weeps out while looking up at the panicking blond- teacher, with tears threatening to escape from his eyelids.
All the teachers’ hearts in the room, especially Oswell’s, had completely broken in half seeing the usually happy and cheerful child have a facial expression of pure devastation.
This was the first time ever for them to witness the boy crying. Even after the incident that causes Iruma to be homeschooled, the boy still didn’t cry in front of them.
“Why would anyone want to kill her?” Iruma wailed while crying his heart out.
He wasn’t throwing a tantrum, Iruma was truly mourning at the information about his favorite akudol’s demise. All of the teachers then angrily glare at the purple-suited Demon, who has an oh-shit expression plastered on his face.
“It was nice knowing you Professor Oswell, I’m hoping we can find another Astrology teacher just as good as you,” Dali-sensei said while gripping his hand on Oswell’s shoulder.
“Oh come on, I’m sure Kalego would understand my side of the story,” Oswell try to defend himself.
“You casually told his son that his favorite akudol was stabbed to death,” Professor Marbas stated while shaking his head in pity.
“You would be lucky if you could leave this school alive, the kid has a lot of strong demons backing him up,” Murmur Tsumuru stated.
Oswell then picked up the child and started comforting him.
“Iruma, I’m sorry about the way you had to find out about Mayu’s death. Please stop crying,” Oswell beg as he let the boy cry in his newly dry-clean suit.
“You don’t have to apologize, Mr. Oswell, it’s not like you’re the one who killed her. I’m just sad and mad that someone would be evil enough to actually kill Mayu-Sama,” Iruma muttered, which made Oswell sigh in relief, at least the kid’s anger wasn’t targeted at him.
But still feeling awful for making such a sweet kid cry, Oswell-Sensei decided to take Iruma to Babyls music room. Since the boy mentioned he likes playing the piano.
While the 2 demons were making their way to the music room, Iruma then let go of Oswell’s hand and run to the room next to the music room, when he noticed a familiar black and blue-haired demon currently dancing on a large stage.
“Hi, Kokari!” Iruma said while waving at the girl.
“Iruma, what brings you here?” The girl asked before jumping off the stage.
“Mr. Oswell was taking me to the music room as an apology for making me cry,” Iruma answered happily, not noticing the teacher flinching at his words.
Kokari gasps at her teacher before glaring at him.
“How could you do such a thing, Oswell-sensei, I used to think so highly of you,” Kokari said while hugging the boy.
“I swear I didn’t mean to, I accidentally revealed to Iruma that his favorite akudol was murder. And besides, he was going to learn sooner or later about the stabbing of Mayu Tomita,” Oswell once again tries to defend himself.
“Mayu Tomita, that name brings me back to when I attended one of her concerts during my first year of attending Babyls,” Kokari hummed to herself in slight glee.
“Can you tell me more about Mayu Tomita,” Iruma asked with stars in his eyes at the older demon.
Kokari only chuckled under her breath before started talking. “When I first started attending Babyls, I didn’t know many demons and the fact that I was very shy back then didn’t help my case. But Whenever I feel lonely, Mayu’s music kept me going, and if it wasn't for her music. Then I wouldn’t have had enough courage to lead my class to victory for the Babyls Music Festival. And in exchange for showing my classmates the wonders of performing arts and theater, they got me V.I.P. tickets to Mayu’s first-ever live performance at the Makubari Dome. Sadly, that was also the same day when Mayu was stabbed to death by a crazy stalker. But at least I had the chance for her to grate all my stress away so I wouldn’t go into an evil cycle.”
“What was she like?” Iruma asked while bouncing up and down.
“Everything that I thought she would be, cute, nice and her eyes could light up an entire room,” Kokari responded happily recalling what it was like when she saw the akudol up in person.
“If I had a wish, I want to be reborn as a celebrity's child. Wouldn’t that be cool, Iruma-Kun?” Kokari asked jokingly before the 5-year-old wrapped his arms around her long legs.
“If you were reborn, that means you must die, I don’t want Kokari-Sama to die,” Iruma said with tears almost threatening to escape from his eyes.
Seeing the boy crying made her cry.
“Oh Iruma-kun, I’m not going to die,” Kokari declared while hugging the boy.
Professor Oswell then clears his throat, which made the 2 demons separated from each other.
“So Iruma do you still want to play the piano?”Oswell questioned which made Iruma remember why he was with the teacher.
“I guess you really are Kalego’s son, so do you actually like playing the piano and are you good?” Kokari asked jokingly.
“I think the piano is the most beautiful instrument in the world, plus I think I'm a decent pianist,” Iruma stated rather shyly to the female student.
“I’ll be the judge of that,” Kokari exclaimed before heading in the direction of where the music room was located.
So there Iruma was, sitting on the piano stool while Oswell and Kokari were standing in front of him with neutral expressions. “Do you want me to bring you some sheet music? Like Old McDemon had a farm or Twinkle Twinkle Little Scar?” Oswell asked which made the boy shake his head.
“No thank you, Mr.Oswell, I like playing without sheet music,” Iruma responded before cracking his fingers.
Even if both of them were not expecting much from a 5-year-old pianist, both of them still had their phones out. Watching such an adorable child playing any type of instrument, is still entertaining to anyone.
Not wanting to disappoint them, Iruma played one of the hardest songs he knows.
(Rush E)
Iruma started slowly playing one simple piano key before playing at a pace to the point where his small audience was completely slack jaw.
“How the hell can such tiny fingers move so fast, just what kind of training did Kalego put that boy through!”Oswell stated flabbergasted at the scene before him.
“Holy shit, the kid is a prodigy! I was still learning my ABC at his age, not becoming a master pianist!” Kokari said with her eyes bulging out of her eyes sockets.
Iruma was too deep in his piano playing that he didn’t notice when a lot more demons suddenly entered the music room.
After Oswell was done recording the child playing the piano, he immediately send the video to all of his coworkers. And of course, the teachers who received the video made their way to the music room.
Once Iruma was finally done playing the song, he then turn to his 2 audiences which had turned into a large crowd with both teachers and students alike.
“ Brilliant.” One demon said while clapping.
“What a talent,” Another demon commented while clapping their hands as well.
Not liking the attention and praise, Iruma got up from his seat and hid behind Kokari’s legs.
If Iruma wasn’t the son of the scariest and strongest teacher of Babyls, Kokari would take Iruma to her house so she could have him all to herself.
A student then bends down to the boy’s height before pulling something out of his pocket.
“Say Iruma, I’ll give you a treat if you can take requests,” a male student with yellow horns said while holding a bag of cookies.
The boy immediately came out of his hiding spot and took a seat in front of the piano keys.
“What do you have in mind?” Iruma asked while focusing all of his attention on the student holding the bag of treats.
If Iruma had a tail, it would be wagging like an excited dog.
“Depends on what can you play?” The horned students asked which made Iruma hum for a minute.
“Mostly classical music or songs from Mayu Tomita’s album but if you let me listen to a song, I think I can play it since I've been working on my music theory lately,” Iruma stated shyly which made the student open his playlist from his phone.
“Okay, I think this song will be easy enough to be interpreted on the piano,”
The teenager then put his phone up to Iruma’s ear and let the small child listen to the first 30 seconds of the song.
Once the music stopped playing, Iruma hummed the tone for a little bit while tapping a few piano keys.
And to everyone’s shock and amazement, the 5-year-old played the song beautifully on the piano.
(Inferno by: Mrs. Green Apple)
“Did I play it well?”Iruma asked with hopeful eyes toward the person who requested the song.
“Um yeah, here's your reward,” the demon said in a daze while handing over Iruma the bag of cookies he promised the boy.
“Iruma-Kun, if you play this song then I will give you one of my mother’s homemade cupcakes,” A female demon promised after pulling a cupcake from her lunch box.
And Once again a phone was pointed in Iruma’s ear before he started to press down a few piano keys.
(Citrus, by De-ice)
After Iruma was done playing the song, the girl then handed him the cupcake.
Then everyone in the room started surrounding the boy with either money or a treat in their hands to exchange for a song request.
“I honestly don’t know what’s more impressive, the fact he’s a 5-year-old piano master, the fact he doesn’t use sheet music or the fact he can play pretty much anything while only listening to a song once,” Marbas whispered into one of his coworkers’ ear.
“I know, he’s so good to the point it’s kind of scary. I mean seriously, just how long does Kalego force his son to practice the piano, 10 to 12 hours a day soon as he could walk,” Dali-sense commented after Iruma was done playing the 10th song someone had requested him.
At the end of the school day, Kalego wonders why Iruma’s backpack was full of money and delicious snacks.
When he asks his son about how he requires all of the items, Iruma just says ‘The piano is the best instrument ever.’ Without giving his father a further explanation of what he meant, Kalego just decided not to ask his son any more questions.
-Meanwhile in the teacher lounge-
“Yo Professor Oswell, why are you still at your desk at this hour?” Dali asked when notice the professor still sitting at his desk, despite all of the students and teachers having left the building.
“I’m trying to look for this ad for a viral video contest so I can submit the video of Iruma playing the piano. Where the grand prize is 20,000 dollars,” Oswell responded at the same time he found the web page he’s been looking for.
“5-Year-Old Boy Plays Piano Better Than You,” Dali read out the video’s title that Oswell typed under it.
“And post,” Oswell said before clicking the mouse from his computer.
Within the first 5 minutes of the video being posted, it already had 10,000 views.
“Ha, that prize money is good as mine, I think lady luck will be on my side today,” Oswell said confidently while lending back in his chair with both his arms supporting his head.
Chapter 15: The Netherworld's Best Talent Scout
Chapter Text
“March, open the damn door!” A female voice shouted while banging on the teacher’s room door.
When the sluggish demon opens the door, March’s sleepy eyes shot wide open when he comes face to face with his older sister.
“What the hell Mar, who let you in the teacher’s dorms?” Marbas March demanded while backing a few steps away from the woman.
“That would be me, your lovely sister came here to visit her little brother, ” Dali piped up which got an annoyed glare from his coworker.
“‘Lovely isn’t the word I would describe this woman,” March commented out loud before focusing his attention back on his sister.
“Do you know where this kid is? I manage to trace the location from where this video was posted for a viral video contest,” Mar then shoves her phone into her little brother’s face.
Mar then pressed the play button on her phone before the video of a 5-year-old playing the piano started streaming.
“That’s Naberius Iruma, Kalego’s son,” March stated, not knowing why his sister was so desperate of finding his coworker’s child.
“Where can I speak to Iruma’s father? I want this kid to audition for this new tv series on DemonFlix,” Mar stated while having a tight grip on her brother’s shoulders.
“But doesn’t your company mostly focus on working with Akudol performers,” March retorted as his sister shook his body aggressively back and forth.
“I also help my clients get acting gigs and right now there’s a casting call for a young master pianist, so tell me where is Kalego and his son!” Mar demanded.
“I’m pretty sure Kalego took his son to Walter Park today, but you can come back to Babyls on Monday if you still want to meet them. Just you know, Iruma’s father is one scary and powerful demon, and plus I don’t think Kalego would like his child to be exposed to the entertainment industry,” Much to March's annoyance, his older sister had already left the building once he reveals the current location of Naberius Iruma.
-x-
“I never had so much fun in my entire life,” Iruma declares after getting off the mary-go-round
“Fun, like it’s fun to wait in long lines all-day just to ride a stupid ride that only lasts for a minute,” Kalego thoughts to himself, not wanting to ruin his son’s parade.
“How are you doing Mommy-noki-?” Iruma asked while she and Kalego both held one of Iruma’s hands.
“F-fine,” The female demon stutter out, not believing this was really happening.
-Flash Back-
“These are for you,” Oswell said after handing Iruma 3 slips of paper.
The young child then jumped for joy when he read what was printed on the sheets of paper.
“Tickets to Walter Park, but why are you giving these to me Mr.Oswell?” Iruma asked in slight confusion but with a grin still spread across his face.
“Remember how I brought you to the school’s music room last week,” the teacher asked which cause Iruma to nod his head.
“I recorded you when you were playing the piano at a capability that even most full-grown demons wouldn’t be able to reach. Then I submitted the video of your adorable face and skilled tiny hands to a best home video contest, which the video manages to win the grand prize. Which happens to be 3 free tickets to the funnest place in the Netherworld,” Oswell explains before ruffling the boy’s hair playfully.
But remembering the contest's real grand prize, a certain brown-haired demon decided to call out his coworker’s lie.
“But wasn’t the grand prize 20,000 dolla-” Oswell then immediately covered Professor Dali’s mouth.
“Just what in the hell would a 5-year-old do with 20,000 dollars? At least I got the kid something, and besides I was the one who edited and submitted the video,” Oswell said in a hushed voice into Dali’s ear.
“Without the demon in the video’s consent and I’m sure Kalego would just love the fact you exploited his son for money,” Dali had a grin crack on his face which made Oswell sign in annoyance.
“I’ll give you 20% of the winnings,” Oswell offers.
“We split it 50/50 and then I won’t snitch to Kalego,” Dali counter while holding out his hand.
“Fine,” Oswell grunted out before shaking his pain-in-the-ass coworker’s hand.
“What are you guys talking about?” Iruma asked the 2 adults.
“Just about what are the best rides at Walter Park,” Dali responded before picking up and spinning the child in the air.
In perfect timing, Professor Dali turns his attention to the new demon that just enter the room.
“Hey Professor Momonoki, are you doing anything this weekend?” Dali asked with a mischievous grin.
“I don’t think so, why are you asking Professor Dali?” She asked in slight confusion, not knowing why her coworker cares about her weekend plans.
“Iruma just won 3 tickets to Walter Park and maybe you should ask Iruma if you could tag along with him and his father,” Dali suggested which made Iruma’s eyes sparkle at the idea.
“I don’t think it’s appropriate if I came along when Kalego is spending time with his son. Besides Iruma might want to invite one of his buddies instead,” Momonoki responded while blushing a deep shade of red.
“Please come with me to Walter Park Mommy-noki, I still want to repay you for all of the kindness you show to me while I was still recovering from my accident,” Iruma begged while using his unstoppable puppy eyes.
-End Flashback -
Momonoki still couldn’t believe she was spending time out of work hours, with the man she had been crushing on for many years. Overall, Momonoki felt she was on top of the world and that she is finally on the path of getting her happily ever after with Kalego, along with a sweet step-son as a bonus.
While the 3 demons were walking together with Iruma in between the 2 adults. Someone had accidentally bumped their ice cream cone onto Kalego’s shirt.
“Ms. Momonoki, could you please watch over my son while I clean my attire from this sugary concoction,” Kalego grumbles before letting go of Iruma’s hand.
Iruma then smells a delicious mouth-watering scent which causes him to separate from the female demon’s grasp.
While Momonoki was focusing all of her attention on Kalego’s direction, the small child she was supposed to be watching over had instantly left her side.
“Hey Iruma, do you want to get something to drink while your father is gone-’ Momonoki stopped talking as her eyes widen in horror that the child had disappeared entirely from her range of view.
“Iruma!” She called out the boy’s name once.
“Iruma!” She called out for the boy’s name a second time but much louder.
“Iruma, where are you!” She scream at the top of her lungs which caught a few passerby's attention.
Iruma had walked for about 5 minutes when he finally came across where the mouth-watering scent was coming from. There was a large stage in front of him that had multiple tall mountains of the most delicious-looking pieces of chicken Iruma had ever seen.
While Iruma was admiring the large quantity of food, he felt a finger tapped him from behind.
Andro M. Rock and his little brother were planning to watch Walter Park's Annual Fried Chicken eating contest when they coincidently stumbled across the blue hair child.
“Yo Iruma, it’s nice seeing you here,” A familiar demon with black hair and red eyes said with a slight smirk.
“Hi Rock-Kun,” Iruma greeted one of his father’s students before noticing the little kid that looked exactly like the older demon.
“Your Jazz, Rock’s little brother. It’s nice to finally meet you, your brother shows me a lot of pictures and told me all source of stories about you,” Iruma stated which made Jazz blush a deep shade of red.
Iruma frowns slightly when Jazz then hides behind his brother’s frame.
“Don’t take it personally, he's just a little shy,” Iruma didn’t pay attention to what the older demon said, as his eyes could only focus on the tall mountain of fried chicken.
An idea then popped up in Rock’s head before he bend down to Iruma’s height.
“Say Iruma, do you want to eat that mountain of fried chicken? Rock asked which made Iruma shake his head up and down.
With the help of his bloodline magic; Pit, Rock manage to easily stole a white and orange band that the contestants were wearing around their heads. “How about you wait with those demons over there,” Rock then pointed at the contestants of the eating contest who were currently sitting under a white tent.
“While I cover the cost of the bill,” Rock finished before sneakily placing the headband around Iruma’s head that fell onto his shoulders as if he was wearing a necklace.
Without being asked twice, Iruma immediately started heading where the contestants were now heading onto the stage.
Since Iruma was wearing the special headband that the real contestants was wearing. No one stopped the child or ask any questions when Iruma took a seat next to a demon that was 10 times his height and width.
Drool ran down Iruma’s mouth when a staff worker then set a tall plate of fried chicken in front of him.
“Are you demons ready to feast on the fried goodness of Walter Park's famous fried Chic-Ken,” A scandalously dressed female staff asked through a microphone.
All of the contestants except Iruma then let out a battle roar while pumping up their fists in the air.
Mar was currently tracking down Naberius Iruma while using all of her connections with the owner of Walter Park himself, in order of her to do so. “Damn it, where the hell is that kid. I pretty much got all of the employees of this damn theme park keeping an eye out for him,” The talent agent grumbled to herself before heading to the nearest exit of Walter Park. While turning her body the other way around, Mar blink a couple of times when she saw the kid she had been searching for all day being broadcast on a large jumbo screen. Mar then ran where the jumbo screen was floating on top of a stage that had tables full of fried chicken.
Mar push and shove her way to the front of the crowd as her eyes widen in amazement since Naberius Iruma was only a couple of meters away from where she was standing.
“On your mark, get set and g-go?” The beautiful hostess and all of the demons observing the event were utterly slack jaw from what they just witnessed.
The tiny and scrawny blue-hair child had already finished his first plate of fried chicken in a matter of seconds,
“More please!” Iruma asked while holding up his hand, with his hunger not satisfied yet.
“Uh-sure, bring the kid more chicken,’ The hostess demanded which made 2 staff workers rush to fetch more food. And once again, Iruma had finished another mountain of fried chicken in a matter of seconds, much to everyone’s amazement and slight horror.
“Can I have seconds?” Iruma asked again.
“Another?” As Iruma keep on stacking empty plate after empty plate, the young child didn’t realize that all of the demons had already given up on winning the contest. So now all of the contestants are currently standing back as they watch multiple Walter Park Staff, running back and forth of plates with and without fried chicken.
“Holy shit is that the kid’s bloodline magic,” One demon from the crowd commented which made Rock hold back a snicker.
No matter how much the chef cook batch after batch of chicken, the kid just ate it all as if his stomach was literally a black hole.
Not able to keep up with Iruma’s enormous appetite, the chef collapsed due to exhaustion.
Iruma then clapped his hands together before bowing,
“Thank you for the food, it was really tasty,” Iruma thanked.
“We have a winner for this year's Walter Park's annual fried chicken eating contest! Do you have any words you would like to say to the crowd, little boy?” The Hostess asked before pointing to the microphone near Iruma’s mouth.
“Wait, this is a contest?” Iruma asked innocently which made the crowd go completely silent from the boy’s words. This child had completely wiped the floor of the competition and might even break a record for the most chicken consumption in the history of Walter Park. And the kid didn’t even know it was a contest.
Not able to hold back his emotions any longer, Rock started to burst out laughing to the point he was rolling around on the ground as if he had gone completely mad. Since Rock and all of the demons who have Kalego as a teacher knew the fact that Iruma was literally a walking black hole. Rock knew it was a good or at least a funny idea for Iruma to be part of any eating contest.
“Nice one Iruma,” Rock shouted, not caring almost everyone in the crowd was staring at him as if he was completely insane.
“Iruma! I’ve finally found you!” Both Mar and Momonoki said in perfect unison.
“Mommy-noki!” Iruma hopped down from the stage into the white hair-demon’s awaited arms.
“I have been looking everywhere for you, please don’t ever wander off like that again,” Momonoki expressed as she hugged the child in her arms even tighter.
“Hello, Naberuis Iruma do you have any acting experience,” A woman wearing a black business suit asked which made Iruma hum for a little bit.
“I once acted in a school play my class had to perform,” Iruma answered.
“What did your school do a play over?” Mar asked.
“Cinderella,” Iruma responded.
“Excuse me, Miss, just who are you exactly? Momonoki asked, not knowing why this lady is asking Iruma such random questions.
“Are you the boy’s mother?” The talent agent asked.
“I’m just watching little Iruma while his father is using the bathroom,” Momonoki responded before going into a defensive stance with the child still in her arms.
“Sorry, I forgot to properly introduce myself. Hello, my name is Marbas Mar, the older sister of Marbas March and I’m one of the best talent scouts and agents in my company. And I want Iruma to audition for a future DemonFlix series that is casting a young boy who is a master pianist,” Mar explained before focusing her attention back on Iruma.
“So what role did you play in Cinderella, I’ll bet with your charming looks you were cast as the prince,” Mar stated which made Iruma's head lower down while blushing.
“I-I was actually Cinderella since I was the only one in my class who had feet small enough that could fit the real glass slippers. While Ameri, a girl who is a grade above me got to play the part of the prince due to the fact she could easily carry me like a real princess. Other than wearing a girly and poofy dress, I enjoy acting in my school’s play, ” Iruma answered while playing with his fingers.
“That's great to hear. So Naberuis Iruma are you interested in being seen on television with Rie Takahashi where you get to play the part of her son?” To Mar's disappointment, the kid didn’t seem impressed in the slightest.
“Who is Rie Takahashi?” Iruma asked, not noticing Momonoki had a completely slack jaw facial expression.
“Rie Takahashi is a household name in the entertainment industry and pretty much all demons young or old had at least seen one of her box-breaking films or tv shows that feature the actress,” Momonoki explained.
“Maybe if I describe what the show is about, I could pique your interest. The show is called My Favorite Akudol, it’s about a talented and beautiful Evidol who got pregnant before almost reaching the peak of her Career. While K.I., the main character of the show; went on hiatus, she meets a countryside doctor who is also a retired pianist and a big fan of hers. So he did what any good doctor and fan would do, he supported K.I. for each stage of her pregnancy so happens to be pregnant with twins.
After K.I.’s doctor was killed by her crazy stalker, the doctor was then reborn as the twin son of K.I., who also get to maintain his piano skills and past knowledge from his previous life. While one of the doctor's former patients who died in the past got reborn as his twin sister, who always wanted to be Akudol in her past life,” Mar explains.
“I get to live the dream of being reborn as a celebrity’s child,” Iruma asked with stars in his eyes.
“Yep, there are over 1,000 young talented upstarts trying to audition for that role, but with my help. I can get you a great advantage over the other actors,” Mar stated confidently.
“You shouldn’t get Iruma’s hopes up since he isn’t guaranteed the role,” Momonoki stated, needing to be the voice of reason.
“That’s true, but he could at least do an audition tape of him reading a monologue book or doing a re-enactment of a scene from a well-known film. Here is the information about the audition and casting process of ‘My Favorite Evidol,’ I even slip my business card if Iruma or his father wants to keep in contact with a top-notch agent,” Mar said before handing Momonoki a stack of papers with a black business card attach from the top.
Chapter 16: Taken
Chapter Text
“Okay, here is candidate number 1,666 for the role of Marine Oshino,” One of the demons who were in charge of casting the actors said before clicking on the next clip.
“Uh, I need a break, we've already seen over a thousand audition tapes, and none of them pique my interest.” A woman who was part of the group said before someone handed her a stack of papers that had Iruma’s information in it.
“This kid’s only acting experience was a school play, where he had to play a princess.” The woman only scoffs lightly before pressing play on Iruma’s audition tape.
“Is the camera rolling Opera?” Iruma asked the cat demon.
“Yes, Mr. Iruma-Kun, the camera is rolling?” Opera responded before Iruma started waving at the camera’s direction.
“Hi my name is Naberius Iruma and I will be acting out a monologue book that my buddy ‘Kokari’’ had lent to me,” Iruma said in the camera’s direction.
“Turn the volume up, it’s that crazy good young pianist who went viral a couple of weeks ago,” The head producer stated, which made the large tv screen become much louder.
The young child on the screen then clears his throat before staring at the camera.
“I will reenactment to the opening scene of Frozen Land and I will be playing both parts of the older sister and younger sister in this audition,” Iruma announced before tying his hair into a low ponytail.
The young child then places a doll with white hair under a blanket. “Ella,pss...Ella, wake up, wake up, wake up,” Iruma said in a higher tone voice as he shook the doll as if it was actually alive.
“Annie, go back to sleep,” Iruma mumbled tiredly after laying the blanket on top of his body.
He then places the doll back under the blanket.
“I just can’t, the sky's awake so I’m awake so we have to play,” Iruma declares while laying on top of the doll.
Iruma then acted like the doll had just pushed him off of the bed before getting on top of the blanket again.
“Do you want to build a snowman?” Iruma asked in his voice impression of the little sister. While using his normal voice when he plays the part of the older sister.
Iruma then grabs the doll by her hand as the young boy pretends the toy is walking right behind him.
“Make it snow, make it snow,” Iruma said to the doll while bouncing up and down.
Even if producing snow out of thin air is possible with the help of magic, the kid didn’t use any spells as he simply threw cotton balls and pretended that snow was falling in his living room.
Irruma then uses a flashlight at the part he was pretending to use ice magic on the doll. Who was being carried by a demon with cat ears and red hair, who made the doll bounce up and higher and higher as if it was jumping from snow hill to snow hill?
“Be careful, Annie, slow down,” Iruma said in his normal voice before turning the flashlight a few shades brighter.
“ANNIE!” Iruma cried out then on cue Opera dropped the doll onto the ground.
Iruma then runs forward and knees down to the doll that was currently laying on its side.
“Mama! PAPA!” Iruma screams while holding the doll close to his chest.
“You're okay Annie, I got you,” Iruma reassures the doll as he pretends to cry and mourn for the toy.
“And scene,” After Iruma said those words, the demon in charge of the remote then paused the video.
“What do you think, boss? He seems pretty promising,” One of the lower rank crew members stated.
“His acting isn’t half bad but he’s still a lot less experienced than the other actors auditioning for the role. But due to the fact, he is a famous and viral pianist, I’ll let the kid have an in-person audition and if he improves on his acting, we might even do a screen test with him as well,” The boss noted before putting a green checkmark on top of Iruma’s application forms.
000
Iruma had never been so nervous in his entire life as he paced around his living room back and forth.
It’s been exactly 2 months since he sent his first audition tape and during those months, he has been studying the art of acting no-stop. Iruma read book after book on different techniques of how to draw in a crowd and making sure he times his facial expression just right.
while Iruma was watching Tv, he took detailed notes on each actor and actress on the screen in front of him. And the late nights he spent practicing and rehearsing his lines with Kokari. Since being an aspiring actress herself, Kokari took the liberty of becoming Iruma's private acting coach and mentor.
And even after going through multiple auditions and screening tests with the main star of the show herself. Iruma started to believe all of his hard work was for nothing. Since today was the day when the casting crew will make their final decision.
Then his father had just entered the room with the same stoic expression that he always has on his face.
“Iruma, I just got off the phone with the producers and I’m saddened to inform you,” Kalego started off, which made Iruma's head lower down in sadness.
“I didn’t get the part, didn’t I? That’s fine, the only reason why I made it to the final 6 contenders was because of my piano skills rather than my acting skills. There were a lot more talented and experienced actors than me anyway so not getting the role is kind of expected,” Iruma said while smiling awkwardly.
“I’m sad to inform you that you might get a little behind in your studies due to your busy filming schedule,” Kalego stated before Iruma started running around the house as if he went completely crazy.
“Oh my devi, I did it, I did it, I got my first acting gig. I can’t wait to tell Balam, Opera, Azz-Kun, Clara, Ameri, and Grandpa,” When Iruma mentioned his grandfather, Kalego cringed at the image of Sullivan finding out his beloved grandson would be on tv.
“How we don’t tell Opera and Grandpa about your acting career,” Kalego said.
-x-
It’s been almost 3 months in a half since production of the show first started and Iruma can’t believe they are almost done filming the entire season. Since today’s scene is being shot in a forest, rather than the filming studio that is a short trip from his house. Iruma had to stay in a portable but fancy trailer for the past week, along with the nanny that has been taking care of him since he was a baby.
Iruma woke up from where he was sleeping when he heard banging on his trailer’s door.
“Ameri, what are you doing here in the middle of nowhere?” Iruma asked when the door revealed a familiar orange-haired girl, who was apparently carrying a large basket of fresh-looking fruit.
“It turns out the director of the show is an old classmate of my father, so with a lot of begging and pleading on my part. My father had convinced the director to let us stop by for a quick visit since you couldn’t celebrate your birthday due to the show’s tight filming schedule.
So happy late birthday Iruma-Kun,” Ameri explained after handing over the gift basket to the smaller child, which made Iruma lose his balance due to how heavy the basket was.
“Thank you, Ameri, this really means a lot to me,” Iruma said before tearing open the clear plastic and grabbing himself an apple.
“Wait, I also had something else for you,” Ameri said with a tint of pink across her cheeks.
The girl then handed Iruma a small square box wrapped in blue paper.
After Iruma tears off the blue wrapping paper, it reveals another box with a tiny whine-up handle attached from its side.
“You mention that Mayu Tomita is your favorite artist so I found a shop where they can convert any song into a custom music box,” Ameri explained as Iruma whined up the box which played his favorite song of all time.
“I love it, thank you so much Ameri, I will treasure this gift for the rest of my life,” Iruma declares before embracing the blushing girl into a tight hug.
“Y-your welcome,” Ameri manages to stutter out.
“Hey Ameri, since filming doesn’t start for another 2 hours, how about we play around in the forest and play together in the meantime, " Iruma suggested.
“I don’t see why not, that sounds like a fun idea?” Ameri responded.
“Hey Maria, Ameri and I are going to be playing in the forest for a couple of hours,” Iruma informs his nanny, not knowing that his caregiver was still sound asleep in her soft and plush bed.
Meanwhile, in a place where no one could see him, there was a man wearing all black who was currently hiding behind a tree.
“Boss, Both Naberius Iruma, son of the second born son of the head Naberius clan, and Azazel Ameri, the heiress of the Azazel family. Are currently heading east of my position,” The hidden demon reported through a walky-talky.
“Excellent, those 2 high profile kids will bring in a lot of money,” the demon on the other side of the communication devices say in an amusing voice.
-x-
While the 2 kids were currently playing tag around the forest, Iruma was currently hiding on top of a tree with an owl sitting next to him.
“Shhh, don’t blow my cover,” Iruma made a shushing noise at the bird.
Ameri only smirks before flying and sneaking from behind from where her target was currently sitting.
“Tag, you're it,” Ameri said, which made Iruma jump in surprise, causing him to accidentally insert his right hand into the front pouch that was on the owl’s stomach.
“Hoooooooooooot!” The owl hooted loudly before leaving.
“Sorry Mr. Owl, I didn’t mean to invade your pouch,” Before Iruma could wave at the Owl, he noticed one of his fingers had a glowing golden ring encircled around it.
“A ring, why would a ranking owl give you a ring?” Ameri questions as Iruma tries to remove the piece of jewelry.
“It’s not coming off,” Iruma said in a slightly panicking tone.
Ameri then grabbed Iruma's ring and began using all of her body weight to pull away the strange piece of jewelry from the boy’s finger.
“Maybe my dad can help you get that ring off,” Ameri suggested, which made Iruma nod his head in agreement.
The 2 of them then started flying in the direction from where they originally came from.
“So how has filming been?” Ameri asks as she and Iruma fly through the forest for a good while.
“A little overwhelming, especially what happened on the first day,” Iruma responded, which made the girl next to him curious.
“Oh, did drama go down,” Ameri questioned, which made a sweat drop form on Iruma’s head.
“On the first day of filming, my former Co-star who was supposed to play my twin sister kind of tried to trick me from quitting the show because she wanted my role to go to the guy she is madly in love with.
By causing a whole scene where she made the main actress, Rie Takahashi out to be like some type of monster, in hopes she could scare me off from the show. Rie Takahashi may not be really affectionate, like her character in the show but she is really professional and she always takes my feelings into account. Especially at the beginning of the production, there was this scene where I had to pretend I was being breastfed by her '' Iruma said casually which made Ameri blush a deep shade of red.
“You were breastfed?!” Ameri stated which made Iruma hold his hands out in defense.
“It’s not what you think, since the first few episodes take place where the twins are babies.
They brought in a demon where their bloodline magic allows them to rewind anyone’s body by only a couple of years. Plus I was wearing girl baby onesies, so it’s not that strange another girl gets to see women's breasts,” Iruma explained which only made Ameri even more confused.
“Why are you wearing girl's clothing, isn’t your co-star that really famous child actress, Emma Watsan?''Ameri asked, not noticing the blush that spread across Iruma's cheeks.
“Well-um, Emma Watsan had kind of completely quit the set since she didn’t get to work with the actor she wanted and because the director didn’t want to cast a new actress…Please don’t tell anyone this,” Iruma utters quietly before Ameri did a zipping gesture across her lips.
“Since it is pretty common for a pair of twins to be played by the same demon, the director asked me to play the part of my twin sister too,” Iruma finished as he heard Ameri try to hold back her snickers.
“You have to play the part of a girl, that is freaking hilarious,” Ameri laughed with tears of joy running down her face.
“Stop it Ameri, it’s not that funny-” Iruma instantly stopped whining when he felt a light poke from his shoulder.
“I’m laughing at the fact you look so much better in a dress than I do,” Ameri laughed again before turning her head in Iruma's direction.
Ameri then stopped her fit of laughter when she noticed a tranquilizing dart currently sticking out of the now-falling boy.
“IRUMA!” Ameri screams the boy’s name as she flies back onto the ground and sees where Iruma's body was now being carried by a cloaked figure. Ameri got into a defensive stance as her hair began to glow a bright pink when she activated her bloodline magic.
“Who are you!” Ameri demanded in a strong voice, not wanting to show any type of fear. Ameri then lunged and kicked a demon who was hiding behind a tree, which made the demon clenches his stomach in pain from Ameri's powerful attack.
“Not another step or the kid gets it,” Another demon wearing a black cloak said to Ameri while holding a knife inches away from Iruma's neck.
Not wanting Iruma to get hurt, Ameri deactivated her magic which made her hair turn back to normal.
“What do you want from us?” Ameri demanded while trying to hold back her tears.
“I want you to come with us, or I will kill this child right here and now,” The man stated with the unconscious boy still in his grasp.
Ameri only lowers her ears down as she obediently follows the man’s orders.
“I’ll do anything, just don’t hurt Iruma-Kun,” Ameri said as she let someone ties both her legs and hands together.
Kalego’s brow furrows in irritation when a certain orange-haired calls him multiple times while he is teaching his class.
“This better be important, Henri, I’m in the middle of an important lesson,” Kalego said through his phone in an irritated voice.
All of Kalego’s students watched in awkward silence while their scary teacher was currently talking on his phone.
“Professor Kalego, are you okay? Kokari asked when she noticed her professor's facial expression went from grumpy and annoyed to complete horror and despair.
All sources of emotions were running through Kalego’s head, first, it was denial; that no way, his son, his precious little treasure had just been kidnapped. Next, it was the anger of the demons who dares to do such a thing.
Next, Kalego started to bargain by offering Henri a lot of money so he could be more motivated to find his son. Next, Kalego was depressed at the possibility that he might never see his son ever again. Then finally, Kalego accepted the fact that his son needed his help.
“Class is dismissed, everyone gets a free day!” Kalego stated before jumping and breaking through a window.
All of his students then got up from their chairs and watched from the window their teacher broke as Kalego was now flying at an extremely fast pace.
“I hope you’re safe, my little pup,” Kalego said to himself as he flew in the direction where Iruma was last seen.
“What the fuck just happen,” Rock commented in disbelief of his teacher’s action.
Chapter 17: I Always Keep my Promise
Chapter Text
“Ameri… It has almost been 2 weeks since we were taken and I’m starting to lose hope that we might never see our family again. I miss my dad, Grandpa, Opera, Balam, Alice, Clara, Uncle Narnia, and even the teacher staff of Babyls. I wish I could see them one last time, ” Iruma said from the cage he was being held in.
“Don’t lose hope Iruma-Kun, it’s only a matter of time before my father will rescue us with the whole army of demon Border control backing him up,” Ameri declared confidently, not caring about the fact she was hung upside down by her feet.
“Ameri, can you please tell me another one of your father’s stories about the Human realm?” Iruma asked before scooting closer to the rows of metal bars that block him from hugging Ameri.
The older child warmly smiles before talking to Iruma for a good 10 minutes.
“And that’s the story about how humans invented their version of ice cream,” Ameri said after she was done telling the tale to the younger child.
Iruma then leans his back against the cold stone wall before thinking about his next words carefully.
“Ameri, do you think humans truly exist?” Iruma asked, not wanting to reveal his secret too soon.
Ameri’s eyes immediately shot open in excitement for being ask of that question.
“Of course I do and one of these days, not only I’m going to meet one but become allies with them as well,” Ameri declares which made small tears of joy stream down Iruma’s face. Since he was happy at the fact he can make Ameri’s dream come true while finding someone who can accept the real him.
“Ameri, there is a secret I want to tell you just in case we die, the human realm is a real place because I was born there,” Ameri nearly gasps in surprise.
“Y-your a human?” Ameri questioned in a hushed whisper.
“Well, I’m only half human since you already know who my dad is. So I guess it doesn’t really count that I’m your first human interaction. Sorry, I got your hopes up Ameri-senpai,” Iruma said rather awkwardly.
If Ameri weren’t being hung upside down, then she would be jumping for joy as if she had won the lottery.
‘Are you kidding me Iruma, you’re the first half-demon and half-human to have ever existed. My father once told me that around 1000 years ago. The Netherworld sent succubus to the Human realm in order to reproduce with male humans because of their high fertility rate. But sadly none of the succubus were able to have any offspring with a human. Which made the demon-human hybrid completely unheard of, Iruma you’re literally one of a kind. And as the future demon who will be in charge of Demon Border Control, I promise that I will protect you with my very life, Iruma-kun,” Ameri declares proudly with her head held up high, which gave Iruma the urge to hug her even more.
“Thank you Ameri, you don’t know how much your words mean to me,-” Noise from the door being kicked open made Iruma stop talking.
“It’s time for you brats to earn your keep,” A demon with purple skin and yellow eyes stated in a gruff tone.
The man went into Iruma’s cell room first and grabbed Iruma by only his arm
Then the man went into Ameri’s cell room and once he unlocked the restraints from the girl’s feet, he then started dragging Ameri by her long orange hair.
Iruma was then handed over to a much smaller demon before the 2 children were separated in 2 different directions.
“Iruma!” Ameri shouted.
“Ameri!” Iruma shouted back while reaching his hand out for hers.
Both demon children were now separated from each other in different rooms that only occupied a clear elevator that was centered right in the middle of the room.
“This is for you, " The grown demon said before handing Iruma a tall box.
“Those are the weapons your sponsor had picked for you for the big event,” The male demon stated after a bow and 6 arrows fell out of the box.
“Why are you giving these to me?” Iruma questioned as his heart pounds even faster.
“You and that orange-haired girl are participating in a game where 16 kids must fight in a battle royale to the death. The rules are pretty simple, the last 2 alive get to go back home. The contestants may use any type of magic or use the weapon their sponsor had chosen for them. Good luck kid, you’re going to need it, since you are our youngest contestant.
I have given you exactly 16 arrows, so use them wisely against your opponents,” The man commented before pushing a bright green button that made the elevator’s clear door shut with Iruma trap inside it.
“Kill?” Iruma stuttered, never having even killed a fly before, let alone another person.
Iruma only breathed harder as the elevator kept going higher and higher until it stopped before all of the glass walls magically disappeared. Since there was a cage surrounding the fighting arena, flying away was not an option. Then Iruma could see all the other 15 kids in the dome since their pedestals were arranged into a circle. When Iruma looked behind him, he could see the arena was also surrounded by water with demon piranha swimming in it.
“Welcome children, the game will begin in 10 seconds, don't step off your pedestal before-” A little boy next to Iruma immediately exploded into nothing but ashes after he tried to jump off his pedestal.
“As you can see, you will immediately be killed if you leave your pedestal too early, the game will now start in 5 seconds,” The demon behind the microphone informed before slowly counting from 5.
“In 5!”
“4!”
“3!”
“2!”
“1!”
When a loud horn could be heard from the speakers, all of the children instantly jumped off their pedestals and began fighting and killing each other.
Some kids use their magic to take out their opponents, while other kids use the weapons that were given to them.
Either way, it was a complete blood bath, and Iruma was only frozen in fear as he watched demons his age getting brutally killed by their own kind.
Since the blue-haired child wasn’t in a complete trans, Iruma managed to dodge when a knife was thrown at him.
Without even thinking twice, Iruma's fight-and-flight instinct kicks in when he draws out his bow and shoots an arrow at the female demon who is trying to decapitate his head off.
“AH!” The female demon screams as she clenches her leg in pain where there was an arrow sticking out of it.
“I’m sorry!” Iruma tries to apologize to the crying girl before a familiar orange-haired demon kicks the injured girl off the arena.
Iruma could only watch as the kid was now eaten alive by tiny hungry piranhas.
“Ameri, you just killed someone,” Iruma said as he looked at the girl in shock.
“Iruma, you need to put your morals behind you because if we are the 2 last survivors then we can go back home together,” Ameri stated, not paying attention to a demon boy who was currently flying up in the air with a sword in his hands.
Wanting to return the favor, Iruma got in front of Ameri and shot an arrow toward the flying demon which caused him to fall onto the ground with a loud thud.
“You’re quite good with the bow, Iruma-Kun,” Ameri commented which made Iruma blush slightly.
“Thanks, I once mentioned that I thought archery seems interesting so my grandfather got me private lessons the very next day from one of the best archers in the entire Netherworld. And there is a reason why I’m Master Bachiko’s favorite student,” Iruma stated before shooting 3 arrows at once, and all of them hit 3 of their targets.
Despite the dangerous situation the 2 of them were in, Ameri's heart skips a beat from Iruma's actions. Iruma is the only demon that she wants to be her knight and shining armor since most of the time she hates it when guys think Ameri is weak just because she is a girl.
But when it’s Iruma who is defending and protecting her, Ameri’s heart only beats faster as her eyes only focus on the blue-haired boy.
With the team up of Ameri and Iruma, the duo was completely unstoppable as Ameri's bloodline magic allowed her to enhance her kicks enough to where she can defeat children who were twice her age and size. While Iruma took out the demons who took to the sky with his bow and arrows. Iruma then unleashed the full power of Cerberus, which attacked anyone who got too close to their tiny master.
When there are just 2 demons left standing in the arena, both Ameri and Iruma then embrace each other.
“We did it Iruma, we did it, we finally get to go home!” Ameri announced happily, too exhausted to care at the fact she killed multiple kids to get that reward. But that was the Netherworld’s ecosystem after all. It’s survival of the fittest, and Ameri and Iruma were obviously the strongest out of the 14 kids they had to slaughter in order for them to live.
Little that Iruma and Ameri know, the event they were forced to participate in has never had 2 contestants walk out alive. Since they were a fan favorite of the whole event, the demons who were in charge of the game came up with the idea of lying that there were 2 winners.
“There’s been a slight rule change, only one victor can be crowned. Good luck to both of you,”
Both Ameri and Iruma's faces could only be described as pure despair once the announcer informed them of the new rule.
“I won’t fight!” Ameri declares in front of the bat camera that was flying over the 2 of them. She then sits on the ground with her arms and legs crossed together.
“Me either, I would rather die than hurt Ameri-sama,” Iruma retorted at the camera lens before mimicking Ameri’s actions.
The both of them then jump up in surprise when a metal collar magically appears on their necks.
“Ameri!” Iruma cried out the girl’s name in worry when her eyes glowed a bright red.
“You two will fight to the death, regardless of what you guys want. My bloodline magic allows me to create collars that make any demon who wears it go into a brainwashed state of mind,” The demon behind the speakerphone announced while cackling in the background.
While Iruma was still paying attention to the speaker phone, he almost couldn’t dodge in time when Ameri was about to land a dropkick at him.
Iruma didn’t know or didn’t care why his collar didn’t have much of an effect on him as he only focus his attention on dodging the girl’s attacks.
Iruma then uses his arms to shield his face when Ameri performs a roundhouse kick.
“Maybe the collars don’t have much of an effect on humans. And even if Ameri is being brainwashed, I don’t want to hurt her,” Iruma thought to himself before dodging another kick that was aimed at his head.
Even if Iruma fights back, he already knows he is no match for the older girl’s superior magic and strength.
Not wanting Ameri to carry the guilt of killing the person she swore to protect, Iruma grabs a sword nearby and plans to kill himself with it.
Just before the blade was only inches away from puncturing his vital organs, Iruma drops the weapon from the horrifying scene he had just witnessed.
Ameri grabbed the last 6 arrows that were in Iruma's quiver and used all 6 of the arrows to stab her Lungs, Kidneys, Liver, stomach, and most importantly her heart.
“AMERI!” Iruma screams in horror as he rushes to the dying girl’s side.
“Why did you do this Ameri? You have so much more to live for than me, why did you kill yourself?!,” Iruma screamed as he begins to cry.
“I did it because…” Ameri then choked on her own blood.
“It’s b-because I always keep my promise and because I love-” Ameri’s body gave out before she could finish her sentence.
“Ameri!” Iruma tries to shake the girl awake.
“Ameri!” Iruma shakes the girl even harder.
“Ameri! Iruma shakes the girl one last time before holding her tightly.
Remembering how his blood affect pure-blooded demons’ wounds, Iruma then gently laid Ameri onto her back.
“No, you’re not going to die!” Iruma declares before carefully pulling out each arrow from the girl’s torso.
Iruma then used a knife to draw a large amount of blood and held his bleeding palm on top of the girl’s wounds.
Chapter 18: I'm back
Chapter Text
The daughter of the Azazel family had already been returned after being gone for exactly 2 weeks, much to her father's relief. Sadly, Kalego wasn’t as lucky as Henri since Iruma was still missing without a single trace. When Ameri was first taken into questioning by Demon Border Control, she told the story about how she and Iruma were forced to participate in a battle royale to death.
Where the demons in charge of the sickening activities, gave Iruma and Ameri the false hope that they could leave together if they kill everyone else. Then for a sick plot twist, it was later revealed that only one out of the 2 of them could leave the arena alive. Kalego still remembers Henri’s horrifying expression when his daughter, his little princess, confessed that she had stuck 6 arrows into all of her vital organs so she could kill herself.
But the answer that not even Ameri knew, why was she returned while Iruma was nowhere to be found, unless. Even if it’s not been confirmed, Naberius Iruma, the son of Naberius Kalego, the grandson of Lord Sullivan, the godchild of Balam Shichiro, and Babyls resident little jelly bean was most likely dead.
Of course, Kalego is happy for Henri that he got his child back but due to his demon's selfish nature. Kalego prefers it was his son who came back from the ordeal rather than Ameri. On the same day when Ameri was returned to her family, Kalego destroyed everything in his house that reminded him of his son.
Like ripping off the blue paw print wallpaper that covers Iruma's room and smashing any toy that came across Kalego's path. But when Kalego was only seconds away from smashing the piano he got for Iruma for his birthday last year. The father couldn’t bring himself to destroy an object that meant so much to his son. So Kalego gently took a seat on the piano stool before crying on top of the instrument.
It was a good thing that Kalego now lives alone, that way no one would see him in his most vulnerable state as he cries himself to sleep.
As days went by after learning about his son’s faith, Kalego has been eating and sleeping a lot less while taking up drinking to drown his sorrows.

Momonoki was currently walking in the outdoor hallways of Babyls as she stared blankly at her phone's screen saver. It was a picture of Kalego, Iruma, and her standing together at the main entrance of Walter Park like one big happy family. Even though it has been 3 months since Iruma's disappearance, Momonoki still daydreams of what her life would be like if she became the wife of Naberius Kalego.
At first, Momonoki was disappointed at the fact Kalego had a child, so she secretly resented Iruma. But after spending time with the adorable little cinnamon roll, Momonoki’s daydreams of being Kalego’s wife also included Iruma as her beloved son as well.
Despite her protests when Iruma started calling her Mommy-noki after the incident of her finding him in the storage closet. The woman would do anything to hear Iruma say her embarrassing nickname because she is now proud of the fact that Iruma sees her as a motherly figure.
Momonoki then dropped her phone when a bright light crashed in the middle of the school courtyard.
Momonoki jumped off the school tiles and onto the freshly cut grass and pointed her magic staff at the smoking crater.
“Who goes there, as a teacher of Babyls I will eliminate anyone who dares to cause harm to the students of this school?” Momonoki declares while hearing coughing noises from the suspicious figure who was now emerging from the smoke.
“Huh, that wasn’t as painful as I thought it was going to be?” Momonoki immediately dropped her weapon when she heard the familiar voice.
“What’s going on here!” Professor Dali demanded as he and a few other teachers; Professor Balam, Raim, Oswell, Blushenko, and Marbas made their way to where the mysterious light landed.
None of the teachers said a word when they spotted a boy with blue hair with a long curl antenna sticking from the top.
“Hi everyone, sorry I was gone for so long. Hey, does anyone know how Ameri is doing, I want to make sure she is safe with her family,” Iruma said with a carefree smile. Like falling from the sky after being missing for 3 months was the least of his problems.
“Yeah, she was returned to her father a couple of months ago,” Balam was the one to answer Iruma's question as he resisted the urge to cry and engulfed his beloved godson into a tight bear hug.
“What a relief, I thought those guys were going to lie again. Well it has been nice seeing everyone, but I’m going to the cafeteria so I can get something tasty to eat,” Iruma stated with drool running down his mouth.
“How about we go to the nurse’s office so I could give you a quick check-up,” Iruma then jumped back a few inches when Professor Blushenko tries to grab his hand.
“I’m perfectly fine so I don’t need a check-up,” Iruma responded before trying to walk away from the group of adults.
Balam then picks up Iruma by his t-shirt as if he was a little kitten, before speaking to the boy in a gentle tone.
“Now Iruma-Kun, that’s not how it works, you can eat all of the food you want once we make sure that you’re perfectly healthy.”
Not wanting to reveal a particular wound he had received, Iruma was hell-bent on not letting anyone see or touch his back.
“No, I don’t need a check-up, I’m fine, I’m fine,” Iruma chanted as his body swung around in the air while both of his hands were pulling down the back of his shirt. Which caught the attention of the adults who surrounded him.
“Say Iruma, why are you trying so hard of covering your back?” Dali asked which made Iruma go completely silent.
“Uh, I got this really embarrassing and gross-looking birthmark,” Balam didn’t need his bloodline magic to detect Iruma's lie because he never saw any type of birthmark on the boy’s back.
Since he was the one and only person who is allowed to give Iruma a check-up.
Not wanting to think that Iruma had gone through the most painful and illegal form of torture, Balam needed to look at the boy’s back to satisfy his dreaded feelings.
Balam then lifted up Iruma’s shirt which made the kid and all of the demons who surrounded him go completely silent
“No…how could…” Someone’s voice trailed off, not able to form a sentence.
A hand-covered Momonoki’s mouth, trying her best to hold back from throwing up.
“His wings?!” Balam whispered in horror under his mask.
“His Back,” Blushenko muttered in the same amount of shock and horror just like his coworker.
“Don’t look at me?” Iruma screams in a cracked voice while hiding his face.
Rather than discussing the sensitive topic any longer in public, Balam picked up Iruma and held him in a cradle position.
The other teachers followed behind Balam in silence as the gargoyle was walking where the school’s nurse’s office was located.

Kalego was currently sitting at his desk while grading his student’s tests at the time when the strange light crashed into the school’s courtyard. But still, in a depressed state, Kalego didn’t bother to look out his window to see the cause of the strange event. The stoic teacher just continued doing his work, not caring if something or someone emerged from the light and destroyed everything around him. The only thing that could snap Kalego out of his depression and rekindle his spark of being the proud guard dog of Babyls, if he was reunited with his beloved son.
But that will never happen since Iruma is dead and Kalego must live a reality without him.
After a few minutes when the light appear, Kalego's eyebrows furrowed when he saw Professor Dali’s name pop up on his phone screen.
“Professor Kalego you are not going to believe who just fell from the sky” Kalego then pinched his head when he heard Professor Dali’s voice.
“It could be fucking Dalkira in the flesh for all I care, just don’t call me while I’m busy grading my worthless student's tests,” Kalego yelled before hanging up his phone.
A tick mark forms on Kalego’s head when his phone starts ringing again.
“But it’s Iruma!” Those Were the first words that came out of Dali’s mouth once Kalego answered his cell phone again.
Kalego nearly threw his phone in anger when Dali mentioned his son’s name.
“And what about Iruma, unless he magically falls out of the sky don’t you ever say that name ever again!”
“But he did, he actually fell from the sky and now he is in the Nurse's office while getting treated by Professor Balam and Blushenko,” Dali explained before the line went utterly silent.
“Hello, Kalego are you there? hello…Ah!” Dali dropped his phone when Kalego was instantly next to him.
At the same time when Kalego appeared next to Dali’s side, he could hear screaming from the other side of the door.
“IRUMA!” Kalego shouted his son’s name while Dali blocked the nurse’s room entrance.
“Wait Kalego there is something we need to inform you before you see Iruma again,” Marbas said while he and Professor Dali tried their best to block Kalego from entering the room.
Hearing crashing noises that were coming from the room, Kalego swats the 2 teachers like flies before bursting into the nurse’s office.
“Go away,” were the first words Kalego heard from his son after being gone for 3 months.
The small child currently had his back against a corner of the large room while rocking his body back and forth as both Blushenko and Balam treated Iruma like an wild animal.
“Balam, what is the meaning of this?” Kalego demanded as he gestured a hand to the shaking figure.
“He was fine a few minutes ago before I mentioned you were coming here,” Blushenko answered before the boy in question then started to pipe up.
“I-I d-don't want to see you, Father, not now. I-I’m not ready,” Iruma's words completely broke Kalego’s heart as the broken-hearted father clenched his chest in pain.
Why doesn’t his son want to see him after being separated for so long?
“Why Iruma-Kun, why don’t you want to see your own father? For the past 3 months, I’ve been mourning and wishing that I get to see you one last time, so why don’t you want to see me? Both Blushenko and Balam winched at just how broken Kalego’s voice was as if the stoic and cold-hearted demon was at the edge of bursting into tears.
Iruma knew his father would learn about the condition of his wings sooner or later, so Iruma decided to bite the bullet and reveal his back.
“I lost the only thing that makes me a demon,” Iruma retorted before showing off his wingless back to his now shocked and horrified father.
Kalego wanted to scream and cried out in anger, he wanted to destroy anything and everything around him and wanted to do something to release all of his anger. But luckily, the joy and happiness of being reunited with his son had overpowered Kalego’s anger at the people who could do something so unforgivable to his beloved treasure. When Iruma felt the warm and comforting embrace from his father, the boy finally let out all of the emotions he bottled up for quite some time.
“Shhh, it's okay my little pup, papa got you, I won't let anything bad happen to you ever again,” Kalego whispered softly into Iruma’s ear while holding his son against his chest.
Hearing those words coming out of his father’s mouth, made Iruma break down the last mental barrier he had put against himself.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean all of those awful things I said to you. Of course I’m happy to see you again. You were the first person I wanted to see after being alone for so long, I miss you the most Dad and I never want to be away from you that long ever again,” Iruma said while crying on his dad’s chest.
Then more people started entering the room.
“Iruma is that really you,” Sullivan asked with tears running down his face when he suddenly barges into the room with Opera following behind him.
“Grandpa, ” Iruma said after lifting up his head.
Before Iruma could say anything else, the 2 demons engulf the small child and Kalego into a group hug since Iruma was currently cradled against his father’s chest.
“Master Iruma, you’re alive,” Opera said while trying to hold back their tears.
“Oh my beloved Grandson, I thought we would never see you again,” Lord Sullivan said with tears running down his face while rubbing his cheek against Iruma’s slightly hollow face.

No matter how much magic the teacher pours into the wound and even with Healing Factor as his bloodline magic, Blushenko couldn’t fix the damage that was inflicted on Iruma's wings.
“I’m sorry Iruma-Kun but those monsters really made sure not to leave a single trace of your wing roots, even with my bloodline magic your wings are most likely gone forever,” Blushenko stated in disappointment after he had been healing the boy’s back for the past 2 hours.
“It’s fine Mr.Blushenko, I still appreciate you for trying,” Iruma reassured the professor as if he was the one who needed comfort.
Once Iruma put his shirt back on, Momonoki then wrapped a blanket around the small boy’s shoulders before handing him the cup of Hell-grade tea that Balam had made for him.
“Thank you Mommy-noki,” Iruma thanked with a warm smile.
The adults let Iruma take a few sips of his drink before they started asking him questions.
“So Iruma, can you explain how you're still alive because Ameri informed us that the game you guys were involved in can only have one winner,” Kalego said the word ‘winner; in quotations.
“The game,” Iruma utters before hiding under his bed sheets.
Chapter 19: The End
Chapter Text
“I don’t want to talk about the game, I-I killed so many people, people who had the right to live just as much as Ameri and I did. I could have used my blood to heal the others, like how I healed Ameri. I didn’t want to kill them, I’m a monster,” Iruma wailed in guilt as he got a flashback of the lives he took.
Iruma then could feel someone hugging his figure which made him get out of his hiding spot and come face to face with a familiar demon cat.
“It’s not your fault Iruma-Kun, it was necessary so that you and Ameri could survive,” Opera stated before wrapping their tail around Iruma’s form.
“I’m sorry, it’s getting too hard to control my emotions,” Iruma choked out while petting Opera’s tail lightly.
After Iruma kept on petting Opera’s tail for a couple of minutes, he was able to speak clearly again.
“My beloved grandson, if you don’t mind me asking, what happened after you revive Miss Ameri?,” Sullivan asked hesitantly, which made Iruma bite his lower lip.
-Flashback-
Once Iruma draws a large amount of blood from his palm and lets his blood drip on top of Ameri’s wounds.
Smoke began to form around the girl’s body before her wounds started to glow bright pink.
After Iruma put his ear against Ameri’s chest, he sighed in relief when he could hear her heart beating again.
Hearing footsteps from behind him, Iruma jumped in front of the unconscious girl and held both of his arms out to shield Ameri’s body.
“Mmm…Your blood smells quite delicious wouldn’t you say Naberius Iruma,” A demon with square sunglasses said while licking his lips.
“You can eat me if you want, just let Ameri go back to her family,” Iruma begs as his body shakes uncontrollably in fear of the opposing figure.
The older demon only smirks in glee.
“Eating you here and now would be so wasteful. How about a little exchange for the Azazel girl’s freedom, you stay here and supply me with the valuable red liquid that pulses through your veins at this very minute… What do you say Naberius Iruma, do we have a deal? ” The older demon asked with his hand held out.
Iruma immediately grabs and starts shaking the older demon’s hand.
“Deal!” Iruma agrees with all of the determination of wanting to protect Ameri at all costs.
-Back to the Present time-
“Soon after I made the deal with the boss of the whole organization, they took away my wings to make sure I wouldn’t be able to escape from them. I was then on a strict daily schedule of getting my blood sucked dry to the point that opening my eyes became a chore. But I’m fine, I deserve everything that happened to me, getting my wings stolen is the perfect punishment for someone as horrible as me, “Soon after Iruma declares that with a warm smile, the boy notices all of the demons, especially Professor Marbas were utterly speechless.
“Iruma, not even the worst criminals in the entire Netherworld deserve what you went through, I still can’t believe anyone could be heartless enough to Ground a child!” Marbas declares while holding back his emotions since he knows the most about how much being Grounded can impact someone’s life.
“Grounded,” Was the only word Iruma said.
“As the torture art teacher of Babyls, I know many different forms of torture that help young demons improve their endurance. But,” Marbas waited, letting Iruma absorb the information.
“Getting your wings torn off is one thing but the type of torture you went through is completely different. Grounded is where all of the wing roots are removed which is a forbidden and highly illegal torture method due to the cruelty, and last effect it can have on someone,” Marbas explained, not wanting to mention the part where 98.7% of grounded demons die from infection or suicide.
“The fact you are still alive after going through the most dangerous and horrendous form of torture is simply a miracle. But I’m just confused about how you could fall from the sky since your wings are no longer functional,” Blusheko stated in amazement.
“Oh yeah, how did you manage to accomplish such a feat?” Dali asked while scratching his chin.
“It’s because of this,” Iruma then held up his hand which had a golden ring encircled around his finger.
“An owl had given me this ring before Ameri and I were kidnapped. At first, I didn’t know what it was capable of until today. Where I accidentally sucked all of the magic from one of the guards and completely immobilized him. Then this strange voice in my head informed me that the unconscious guards had a magical item that could send a demon to any place that they had visited,” Iruma finishes which makes all of the adults concerned when the boy mentions the strange voice in his head.
“Are you talking about this Enden Pearl,” Oswell said before pulling a tiny blue ball out of his pocket.
“Yep, I remember Mommy-noki talking about those pearls during one of her classes,” Iruma stated which made Momonoki pat his head affectionately.
“The fact you managed to get an Enden Pearl to send you to the right location without any practice is simply incredible,” Momonoki said with pride in her voice.
Then the oldest demon in the room started clearing up his throat which got everyone’s attention.
“So Iruma-Kun, about the voice you were hearing. Are you sure there was no one else in that room that you were being held in?” Sullivan requested while using his hands to support his chin.
The boy only frowns at the question.
“Nope, I think my ring was talking to me,” Iruma declares with confidence which makes all of the adults even more concerned about the boy’s mental state.
“Iruma, rings don’t talk,” Balam stated in a gentle tone.
“It did telepathically,” Iruma countered.
“Maybe you saw the guard's magic item in the past which caused you subconsciously to think that you heard someone talking to you to search their pockets,” Blushenko reasoned.
“I’m not crazy, I've never seen that low-ranking guard have such a rare magical item on him. So that proves my ring had telepathically ordered me to search the guard’s left pant pockets,” Iruma said with cross arms.
“Nobody said you were crazy but since you were held captive for over 3 months, your mental state may not be the best right now,” Dali reassured him as if Iruma was a wild animal.
Opera then grabs Iruma by his shoulders which causes Iruma to turn his head at the cat demon.
“Opera, don’t you believe me?” Iruma asked right before he was immediately wrapped in a blanket as if he were an infant.
“Please take a nice, long nap.”
Opera then rocks Iruma side to side while singing him a lullaby.
“Sleepytime…Sleepytime…Sleepy time.”
From all the stress and restless nights Iruma had been through it was very easy for anyone to put the exhausted boy to sleep.
“Professor Kalego, you have a month off with full pay,” Sullivan stated after Opera handed the father his son.
“Thank you, sir,” Kalego thanked the taller demon before exiting the room with his son close to his chest.

“Knock, knock, knock,!”
“Coming,” Iruma said when he heard a light knocking noise from his house's main door.
When Iruma opened the door, he came face to face with one of the biggest actresses in the Netherworld.
“Hi Ms. Rie Takahashi, what are you doing here? I thought ‘My favorite Akudol’ was already aired a couple of weeks ago,” Iruma exclaimed before he could hear loud footsteps from behind.
Iruma was then immediately grabbed from under his arms before being placed behind his father’s frame.
“Iruma, what did I say about answering doors without my supervision,” Kalego scolded his son lightly.
“That it is dangerous and I might get kidnapped again,” Iruma responded with his head lowered in shame.
“Correct so you better remember that lesson when another demon comes at our door,” Kalego stated before turning his attention back to the beautiful woman.
“What do you want, I’m pretty sure letting my son get kidnapped wasn’t part of his contract, ” Kalego started while glaring slightly.
The actress didn’t back down from the scary demon’s death glare.
“I want Iruma to come back on the set so we can film the most important scene for the entire series. Since I’m the main star of the show, I refused to act with anyone else and insisted that we should postpone and wait for at least 6 months to see if we can get you back on the set. So what do you say Naberius Iruma, would you want to reprise your role as my twin children,” The woman said with her fist clenched against her chest.
Iruma's eyes widen in excitement that he will be able to reprise his roles.
“Absolutely not, that show is the reason why my only child manages to get kidnapped and be held in captivity for 3 bloody months,” Kalego growled while unsheathing his fangs.
“But Dad, I need to finish what I had started, I want to see this project to the very end,” Iruma begged with watery eyes.
“You’re never going back to that negligent filming crew ever again, plus I started work in a couple of days and I don’t trust any demon to be alone while you’re gone for filming,” Kalego stated.
“What about Opera, Opera is strong, and trusting, and they would be 3 steps ahead to stop another kidnapping,” Iruma said with determination in his eyes.
“It would be a great opportunity to watch behind the scenes of one of my favorite shows.” Kalego shivers when he hears the cat demon’s scary monotone voice.
“Opera-Senpai, why are you in my house?!” Kalego demanded now with all of his attention focused on the newcomer.
“Lord Sullivan, order me to secretly watch over his grandson during your paid time off,” Opera admitted without showing any type of emotion.
“You have been hiding in my house for almost a month,” Kalego shouted in pure anger at the fact that another demon was secretly living in his house for the past month, without him expecting any trace.
Opera only ignores the ranting and the enraged Kalego as the cat demon only focuses its attention on the actress.
“As long as I can escort Master Iruma everywhere he goes, then he would be able to reprise his roles, what do you think of Kalego-Kun,” Opera then waited for the young actor’s father’s response.
“Does any of these scenes involve him flying or revealing his back?” Kalego asked hesitantly.
“No, since I’m redoing all of the scenes where Iruma's characters were replaced by body doubles,'' the actress reassures.
“Fine, Iruma you can restart your acting career,” Kalego agreed begrudgingly while massaging his temples.
He then felt someone hugging his legs.
“Thank you, Dad,” Iruma thanked before Kalego patted his head.
“This show better win you an award or something like that,” Kalego commented with a slight sign.

“I can’t wait to see everyone at Babyls again,” Iruma said while his father flew the 2 of them to the building.
Kalego narrows his eyes when he sees a group of demons with cameras currently surrounding the school’s front gate.
“There he is! It’s Naberuis Iruma!” A woman wearing a shirt with Iruma's face said while pointing at the child.
The 2 then surrounded the father and son duo while taking multiple pictures of them.
“Naberuis Iruma can I have your autograph? A girl asked while holding out a notebook.
“Um, sure,” Iruma responded before writing his name with the pen that a fan girl gave to him.
“Naberuis Iruma, can I do a quick interview with you,” A well-dressed woman holding a microphone asked while bending down to the kid’s height.
Not used to all of the attention he is receiving, Iruma then hides behind his father’s scary form.
“Leave my son alone, you’re scaring him,” Kalego growled before summoning a 3 headed dog.
But the crowd only ignored him.
“Leave or I will get Head Chair demon Sullivan himself to deal with you vultures,” Kalego declares which made the mod of demons take a few steps back.
While Kalego and Iruma were walking together across the school’s halls, Kalego only growled at any students who tried to sneak a picture of his son.
“Iruma, you stay here in the meantime while I deal with that annoying mod,” Kalego started after dropping off Iruma in the teacher’s lounge.
“Hi everyone, sorry I was gone again,” Iruma said as he waved at the teachers.
“Don’t worry we understand, Marine Oshina,” Dali said with a devious smirk.
“Yeah we understand that you're too famous to hang out with simple demons like us,” Oswell commented which made Iruma crumble into a ball due to embarrassment.
“How do you guys know,” Iruma asked, covering his blushing face.
“Iruma, don’t you know how popular ‘My favorite Akudol’ is right now,” Blushenko questioned.
“Not really since I don’t care about popularity, ” Iruma answered truthfully.
“Are you serious Iruma-Kun?! ‘My favorite Akudol’ literally crashed Demonfliex due to so many demons streaming at once. Look, the show’s theme song is even number 1 on Demon billboard charts.” Murmur Tsumura stated rather loudly before showing Iruma his phone screen that displayed (Idol By Yoasobi) on the number 1 spot of the billboard chart.
Iruma felt a shiver run down his spine when the adults in the room looked at him in a different way.
“Iruma, since the last episode of ‘My Favorite Akudol’ was postponed for another week, can you please tell us what happened,” Dali asked with both of his hands clasped together.
Then Suzy was next to her partner in crime.
“Yes Iruma-Kun, you can tell us…yes yes,” Suzy said with a slightly crazy look in her eye.
Then Iruma noticed the rest of the teachers had the same crazy look in their eyes.
“Uh, you guys,” The boy utters in slight fear while taking a few steps back.
“Iruma, I will pull out your teeth if you don’t tell us,” Marbas said sweetly while holding a pair of metal tongs.
“You don’t have to tell me I have the clip-,” Another teacher then cuts off Iruma.
“ Or I can use my fire magic to cook you into char meat kabobs,” Ifrit said while waving his ignited tail toward Iruma's direction.
In perfect timing, Momonoki entered the room which caused him to run into the woman’s legs.
“Save me Mommy-noki, Mr. Marbas and Mr. Ifrit said they would pull out my teeth or char me into a kabob if I didn’t tell them what happened in the last episode of ‘My Favorite Akudol,” Iruma said which got them disappointed look from Momonoki.
“Seriously you guys,” Was all that came out of Momonoki’s mouth.
“In our defense, the latest episode left an awful cliffhanger, and like I’m cruel enough to rip out the teeth of a little kid Even if we do have Professor Blushenko on stand-by,” The last part of Marbas' comment only made Iruma hug Momonoki’s legs even tighter.
“Do you guys really want to know, it’s really sad,” Iruma asked, which made the teachers nod their heads aggressively.
“Yes, please tell us!” Raim begged.
Iruma then walked next to his bag and unzipped his front pocket.
“My phone’s memory card has all of the episodes of ‘My Favorite Akudol’ which include the final episode and a few filming bloopers,” Iruma said before Dali took the cellular device out of Iruma's hand.
“Thank you, Iruma,” Dali thanked while patting the boy’s head affectionately.
22 minutes later nearly all of the demons in the room were currently wiping their tears from what they just watched.
“They killed off the main character, I remember in the last episode they featured K.I’s stalker with a knife but I still can’t believe they actually killed the main star,” Murmur Tsumura said with tears running down his cheek.
“It was so beautiful and bittersweet about how K.I.'s dying words were about how her loving her kids definitely weren’t a lie,” Raim said while crying.
“Was my acting good, I hope I wasn’t too dramatic in that scene,” Iruma said scratching the back of his head shyly.
“You were amazing and how did you pull out such raw emotion,” Oswell commented in amazement.
“Thanks, half of that wasn’t acting since that scene reminded me of when Ameri tried to kill herself for my sake. Oh yeah, once the camera stopped rolling it took Opera 3 hours to calm me down” Iruma responded rather awkwardly which made the room go silent.
“So, uh did you know there is going to be another season,” Iruma informed them which made the mood go up again.
“Really? Do you know what happened,” Dali asked, which only made Iruma shake his head.
“Unfortunately since there will be a time skip where the twins are teenagers, the next season will focus on the cause of K.I’s death,” Iruma informs them, which the teacher brightens their mood.
“What a relief, I was worried they weren’t going to continue the series.” Murmur Tsumura said.
“When will the next season come out?” Oswell asked which made Iruma smirk devilishly.
“It’s a secret,” Iruma imitated the same way his TV mother said those 3 simple words, which made the demons only groan at the child.
