Izuku never asked for this way of life. It just happened to be something he fell into. So what if he stopped a mugging here of there, or made sure the odd person got home safe? He was out on the streets patrolling anyway. He wasn't going to ignore someone screaming for help even if it wasn't technically his job description. He really wished they'd stop sending people to arrest him. That would be nice.
