CHAPTER I

CAITLYN

"I don't understand what we're doing inside." Jayce looks at his sister and leans back in his seat. While he focuses on the wrestlers' training, Caitlyn stares at the door impatiently.

"Dad told Amara to pick me up here."

"No, he told you to wait outside and her name is Adara."

"Whatever." A pink-haired girl walks up to them, Caitlyn straightens her back and smiles.

"Cupcake! What are you doing here?" Vi looks her down and up and whistles "You look nice."

"I have a blind date, dad is obsessed with my dating life."

"At least you get a free meal." Caitlyn chuckles and Jayce rolls his eyes.

"You're funny."

"It wasn't that funny." Jayce says under his breath.

"Shut up." Caitlyn nudges her brother and concentrates on Vi "Are you fighting tonight?"

"I am. Don't give me that face I'm not telling you who wins." Vi says smiling. Caitlyn’s dad decides who wins every week, depending on the story he wants to sell. Caitlyn feels her face heat up. That smile does things to me.

"I'm going to try to get out of my date early then." Caitlyn says tucking her hair behind her ear. Vi leans in, keeping her smile.

"Well, you're my lucky charm."

"Vi!" She's called from the rink.

"I'm coming!" Vi replies, without taking her eyes off Caitlyn "See you later" She says in an almost whisper. Vi walks away from the siblings and Caitlyn sighs. Oh, I'm so fucked.

"Cait, don't even think about it." Jayce's voice wakes her from her trance.

"What? I was showing my support."

"Oh my god Vi, you're so funny." He says, teasing the girl.

"Shut up." Caitlyn stands up from the chair, picking up her bag "Don't you have to help Dad or something?"

"Hey, you're the one who dragged me here so you could look at Vi without looking like a creep."

"Shut up. I'm leaving."

"Hey, good luck on the date."

Didn’t you hear Vi? I'm a lucky charm.
