Chapter Text

Chapter 1 56 Seconds

The turbolift doors swished open, Picard turned to the sudden sound not expecting anyone. To his surprise, it was none other than an old flame Dr Beverly Crusher. She was beautiful, she aged with such grace he always knew she would. A little silver in her hair framed her face, she was beautiful even today. Riker was holding her in his arms, one arm around her waist the other holding her hand tightly. She was unsteady on her feet from the sedative she was given. The adrenaline Riker had given her only woke her from her medically induced slumber.

The Bridge of the USS TITAN was dark, her eyes were still unclear adjusting to the light. A moment later she catches Picard’s gaze, it has been over 20 years since she last seen anyone from the old crew. She was sure Picard had questions and only she could answer them. A lot had happened in the last 20 years. Beverly looked down at the console before her, as If full of shame, she could not bear to see his face but slowly she looked up into his eyes, they never needed words “a look” and he knew what she had been keeping from him.

“Belay that Admiral’s orders, lock it down, shuttles, transporters. The boy stays here.”

Shocked Captain Shaw responds to the orders... “You are going to get us all killed, why are you doing this?”

Picard replies simply, “Because he’s my son.”

A gasp rang through the ship over the com. Beverly was unsure whether she did the right thing by keeping his son from him all these years. But finally, the weight she carried over her shoulder for so long was finally free. Things will never be the same again and she knew it.
