Winter's Night

Summary:

When the heat is out, they must protect the Bug.

Work Text:

The cold air of the apartment greets Marinette as she opens the front door, almost as cold as outside. Compared to how warm it was this morning, it's hell. Sighing as she caresses the wall of the hall, leading to living room, which is alight with candles, and it is slightly warmer due to the fire crackling in the fireplace.

"Jason, did we trip the breaker or something?" She calls out, kicking off her boots as she scurries over to the fireplace, kneeling before it to warm herself. "Jason? Roy?" A large fluffy blanket falls on her shoulders, warm and soft, freshly washed from the smell, and when she looks up, Jason is lowering himself onto the floor next to her.

"Landlord shut off the power again." He explains, handing her a mug of steaming cocoa, the smell of vanilla and chocolate wafting up as she resists the urge to down it right away.

"Good thing the stove is gas." She murmurs and Jason wraps an arm around her, pulling her into his side.

"Yeah, but that doesn't help with your weakness to the cold from being Ladybug."

"You have to be cold too." She says, and Jason chuckles.

"Pixie, your lips are blue. Do mine look blue?" She shyly peeks up at him, and shakes her head. "Then I think it's safe to say that you're colder than I am." He rubs his hand up and down the arm that it rests on. "It's good that you got home when you did, there's a blizzard incoming."

"Fucking hell!" Roy shouts, slamming the door shut. "Jay, did that piece of shit cut the power again? We need to get stuff to warm up the bug- oh." Roy pauses as he enters the living room to see the two of them looking in his direction over their shoulders. "Uh... hey Bug."

"I appreciate the concern, Roy. How's Lian?"

"At her aunt's thankfully. Gimme a sec, I brought some food from Paula, it's hot." He shrugs off his jacket and kicks off his boots, before crossing over to them, depositing a bag of hot food into Marinette's lap, and providing forks as he plops down on her otherside, leaving her sandwiched between her two boys. Shifting, she throws the blanket around both of them, popping the lid on the food, and the three of them dig in, chatting between their bites of food, until they're stuffed and exhausted, and falling asleep against one another, candles burnt out, and fire keeping the trio warm, while the wind howls and beats on the windows, the raging storm useless against their warm cuddle puddle, and soft snores.
