“Do these sorts of gigs often?”
Rough fingers. Thick callouses. Sam could feel the indent of a scar – perhaps Bucky cut himself while cooking? Warm. Gentle as he put each pearl over Sam’s eyebrows. Great attention to detail.
“Not usually,” murmured Sam as he felt Bucky’s hand graze his cheekbone, gently tipping Sam’s head up with a finger, “I was drawn to it. Something about the ad called to me.”
“I can see why,” said Bucky as he touched up the dusting of glitter on Sam’s face, “You do make a good mermaid.”
Sam might have laughed a little too loudly.
“Yes. I do,” said Sam, and he knew he wasn’t exactly acting as normal as he hoped.
