Work Text:
It wasn’t something Hanta would always notice, but when he did, it overwhelmed him. When he sat on the musty couch with his family, watching childish cartoons that his siblings insisted on seeing, he noticed it. When he was playing video games with Denki in his darkened dorm in the middle of the night, he noticed it. When his homeroom teacher applauded his improvement on accuracy and speed, he noticed it.
If Hanta was ever to look for it, he saw it everywhere around him. Sometimes it would be such a strong and powerful feeling that he would curl up under his sheets alone in his room. He would sob the most grateful and happy tears on those occasions, because of how powerful it was.
Hanta was overwhelmed by the immense feeling of love. He noticed how strongly all the people around him loved and cared for him. When he saw that love, it was something he was eternally grateful for. Sometimes his gratitude was so strong that he felt he was being cheezy or lame. But he knew that it was important to let others know how grateful he was to have them, to have their love. So he did things for his loved ones. He bought donuts for his little sister when she was worried about her exam results. He left fancy pens outside Midoriya’s dorm room, because he knew how fast he ran out of them. He cleaned the house while his parents were away so they could come back to the surprise. Hanta did all these things because he loved all the people who loved him. His desire to give back to them was so strong.
Hanta cannot begin to explain how much he is thankful for the love of the people around him, he doesn’t know how he could ever deserve so many people who cared for him so deeply, who wanted to spend time with him. But he was so thankful for it. He hoped that with time he would be able to grow with them, and to fully show them how much he appreciates their love. How much he loves his friends and family.
