Naruto was walking through the forest at a calm pace when in reality his heart was clenching very painfully. He couldn't seem to forget the words sasuke had so cruelly said to him.
"Sasuke.oh God why did he have to say that to me. It hurts so much. So much",thought Naruto.
2 hours before
All of the clan heads as well as all the important members of the council were gathered to determine what was to become of Sasuke Uchiha after he had finally returned to the village. "He should be locked up, never to see the light of day again" said the gruff voice of one of the council members Naruto never bothered to learn the name of. Naruto instantly scowled at what he had to say when other members of both the council and clan heads had started to murmer their agreements.
"No, sasuke helped us in the war and he saved my life multiple times throughout it" yelled Naruto as his emotions were all over the place at the thought of sasuke getting sent to prison. He was getting ready to give more reasons as to why sasuke shouldn't even be in this situation when someone from one of the important clans decided to give thier input. " Sasuke Uchiha is a traitorous rouge ninja that betrayed our village and has always been putting us at risk, he is a threat to still even be breathing so I think we should just execute him".
Naruto felt his blood run cold. He immediately started snarling and turned to look at granny tsunade. She looked very conflicted at how things were turning out and didn't know what to say. Up until this point sasuke had remained silent but out of the corner of Naruto's eye he saw sasuke smirking coldly. Naruto felt himself freeze at that and then turned fully in sasuke's direction.
Sasuke tilted his head up and met Naruto's stare with his own piercing one. "Naruto". Just one word out of sasuke's mouth was enough to silence the entire room. Naruto felt his heart beat a little faster when sasuke said his name and sent a curious glance at sasuke. "SILENCE, Uchiha,you don't have any right to speak" said the obnoxious voice of the izuno clan head.
"Naruto if you keep siding with Uchiha, we will have no choice but to arrest you as well" said one of the council members that Danzo used to be friends with. Naruto felt rage overcome him. He was about to say something when granny Tsunade interrupted him." SHUT UP. ARE YOU THREATENING THE WAR HERO THAT JUST SAVED US ALL".
Naruto felt very touched that she immediately jumped to his defense. "Granny calm down," Naruto said and then turned towards the council " we can calmly talk about this and find a proper solution about sasuke, and please don't forget that sasuke helped just as much as I did in ending the war" said Naruto calmly although he was feeling very angry.
That was when Sasuke had finally decided to speak up again. "Naruto, where do you get off trying to play the hero for me" said Sasuke without any emotion in his voice or eyes. Naruto froze upon hearing those words.
Tsunade turned to Sasuke in anger and was about to snap at him when Naruto spoke up. "S-sasuke what do you mean, I'm just trying to help yo-". "Shut up" Sasuke cut him off mid sentence. "W-what" stuttered Naruto.
Naruto felt embarrassment rolling through him as he felt everyone's eyes on him at Sasuke supposedly not wanting Naruto's help. Granny Tsunade must have sensed that because she told everyone to immediately leave the room before things could get out of hand. All of the council and clan heads had started loudly protesting but stopped when she gave them a very cold look. Reluctantly everyone had left the room. The only ones left were Sasuke, Naruto and Granny Tsunade.
"Sasuke...I only want to help you" said Naruto as his face flushed red at the earlier embarrassment. Sasuke had activated his sharingan and was staring at Naruto with concealed emotions. Naruto was starting to feel a little hurt at the fact that Sasuke was acting emotionless in front of him when they had seemed to work out a few things towards the end of the war.
Granny Tsunade was becoming very impatient and wanted to hit Sasuke for making her grandson sad and was about to speak up when Sasuke decided to speak up again. " Naruto I don't want any more of your help." Naruto sprung up from the chair he was sitting on immediately. " but Sasuke I'm helping you because you're a good person and I -". " how am I a good person?" Asked sasuke stoicly. Naruto immediately answered, " because you came to help us in the war even after konoha had wronged you in so many ways and-". Sasuke cut him off again.
" Naruto... you know what I really hate, when people don't mind their business and don't listen. That's the type of person you are". Naruto just stayed silent while Sasuke spoke but every one of his words felt like arrows piercing his heart.
" SHUT UP SASUKE, Naruto went through so much just to get you to return and help you and this is how you repay him" screamed granny Tsunade. Sasuke simply smiled with no emotion. "Repay? I never asked him to bring me back to this disgusting village" stated Sasuke as if it was the easiest answer. " you didn't need to ask him you brat, he saw that you were struggling in your quest for revenge and just wanted to help you" said granny Tsunade with barely concealed rage.
Sasuke ignored her and turned to Naruto instead. " Naruto I Want you to know this". Naruto froze at those words and reluctantly met his gaze. He felt his heart break at the icyness in Sasuke's eyes. "Naruto..... ever since I was a kid I've always hated you" said Sasuke with no hint of regret in his voice.
Naruto felt tears brim at the corner of his eyes at Sasuke's cruel words. He let out a pained sound that probably sounded very pathetic as it had granny Tsunade immediately turn and try to console him and even Sasuke's gaze softened after hearing it. He could feel the tears rolling down his cheeks but he couldn't bring himself to wipe it away. Sasuke hates me. Sasuke hates me. Sasuke hates m- were the only things that were going through his mind.
Naruto could see that Sasuke was holding his own hands down very tightly as if trying to restrain himself from doing something. Doing what, he didn't really know or had the energy to think about.
Granny Tsunade made a move to lift her hands up to try and hug him but Naruto quickly stood up and ran out of the room. He kept running for what felt like hours until he ran into a forest. He found some random spot and sat down. How could sasuke say that. Does he really hate me,thought Naruto .
He could feel more and more tears running down his cheeks and dripping onto his shirt. He then let out a loud sob. Sasuke I love you. I love you so much. It hurts so much sasuke. thought Naruto sadly.
He then heard some twigs snap. He immediately raised his head In alert and shifted his gaze to where he heard the sound coming from. He sniffed a little while getting up from the floor and quietly walked over. He saw a little blue ball thing doing weird spinning motions and moved in a closer for a better look . Before he could even process what was happening there was a bright flash of light. He gasped in surprise and was beginning to feel very uneasy.
Naruto was very scared when he looked down and saw his hand was beginning to fade . He could see through it which was onto the ground . He was about to scream in horror when everything went black.
