Satoru and Suguru finally get a day off together.

Work Text:

It was rare that the couple ever got a day off at the same time, only moments overlapped between missions. When Satoru and Suguru did get a day off together though they made the most of it.

When Satoru woke up the sun was blaring into the bedroom, a blanket tangled around him. Groaning, he rolled over, hair flopping in his face as he tried to block out the light by burying his face into the pillow.

After a while of laying there and listening to the faint sounds of someone rustling around in the kitchen, Satoru dragged himself out of bed and to the bathroom before heading to the kitchen. The sight of Suguru standing at the sink made his chest fill up with that funny feeling he always gave him. Seeing his hair swept up, stray pieces falling out and framing his face while he wore Satoru’s shirt made him feel at home again.

Coming up behind the man, Satoru wrapped himself around Sugurus back, laying his cheek on his shoulder as his arms wrapped around his waist. Inhaling deeply, Satoru longed to go back to bed and lay in each other's arms, feeling Sugurus hands play with his hair while his own roamed Sugurus back.

“good morning princess.” Satoru mumbled, mouth still thick from sleep as he pressed a kiss against the man’s cheek.

“Are you ever gonna drop that nickname?” Suguru chuckled, shutting off the faucet as he turned around in Satoru’s arms to face him.

“nope.” Satoru’s words coming out muffled against Sugurus' chest. “I missed you in bed this morning, why'd you abandon me?” he frowned, moving his head to give Suguru puppy dog eyes.

“hmm i think it was the kicking and blanket stealing that did me in.” Suguru laughed, wrapping an arm around Satoru’s waist while the other went to flatten his bed head.

“What can I say? I'm a cuddler.”

“oh is that what we’re calling bed hogs now?”

“I actually think that is a very offensive term Sugu, I can’t believe you would call me that.” Satoru stood straight, putting on his best shocked face.

“oh however shall I make it up to you?”

“hmmm, get back in bed with me?” Satoru smiled widely while Suguru laughed.

“you just woke up.”

“so?”

“So I don’t wanna sleep my day away. we barely see each other Satoru, I'd like to enjoy your company.” Suguru smiled, his eyes crinkling in the way they only did when he was saying something cheesy.

“you’re such a sap.” Satoru leaned down, smiling against Sugurus lips.

They ended up on the couch, limbs tangled together as they watched a documentary Suguru suggested. Satoru was more focused on Sugurus face, the lines near his mouth, the crease in his forehead, the bags under his eyes, the strands of hair falling out of its tie and into his face. Reaching his hand up he cupped the other's face, rubbing his thumb across his cheek.

Sugurus' eyes fluttered shut, before reopening to look into Satoru’s eyes. They stayed like that for a while, staring into eachothers eyes in silence as Satoru’s thumb still brushed along his cheek.

“what are you thinking about?” Suguru spoke softly.

“about how pretty you are,” Satoru grinned, leaning forward to press his lips against Sugurus. “and how much I love you.”

The words made Suguru silent, an overwhelming feeling of love bubbling in his chest he couldn’t even imagine finding the right words to describe them, hoping his words communicated even just a little bit of that feeling.

“I wish we got more time like this, not just spare moments.” Sugurus' eyes fluttered shut again, pressing his forehead against Satoru’s.

“I know, maybe we should take a trip.”

“We should, I would love to show Megumi the beach.”

“that little asshole would love the ocean, the sand, I'm not so sure.” Satoru laughed, imagining the face the kid would pull having to walk on sand.

Suguru sighed, hiding a laugh. “You can’t call him an asshole Satoru.”

“okay then what do you call somebody who throws the food you made on the floor? because i really worked hard on that meal.”

“putting nuggets in the oven is not hard work, plus Megumi's in that loving animal’s phase he doesn’t wanna eat meat.”

“Just last week he was begging me to buy them.” Satoru sighed, moving his head to the crook of Sugurus' neck. “He can suck it up. I highly doubt those nuggets are actual chicken anyways.”

“He's six, you can’t tell him to suck it up, there’s no reasoning with a six year old. Just wait, in a few days he’ll probably be back to eating meat.” Suguru laughed. “or if it’s not i guess i’ll be learning how to cook tofu.”

“eugh.” Satoru sighed, feeling Sugurus' hand reach up to the back of his head, his fingers tangling in his hair.

“do you wanna go pick him up together today or i can just go if you wanna rest?”

“he can fend for himself.” Satoru latched onto Suguru, burying his face into his neck.

“As capable as Megumi is, I'd rather be there to walk him home.” Suguru laughed, kissing the top of his head.

“but you’re so comfortable.”

“uh huh come on Toru, let go of me.”

-

At the sound of the door shutting Satoru woke up, laying still as he listened to the sound of little feet running towards him. Cracking his eyes, Satoru blinked before pulling his face together in disgust as Megumi stood in front of him. his backpack still resting on his shoulders as he stared back, mirroring the expression. Breaking the silence Satoru burst out laughing, holding out his arms.

“Come here you little rascal.” Without hesitation Megumi launched himself on the couch, resting between Satoru’s arms. “How was school?”

“It was school.” Megumi shrugged.

“Yeah that’s usually how it goes,” Satoru laughed, sitting up on the couch, pulling Megumi up with him. “and Auntie Shoko? Did you have fun staying at her house last night?”

“Auntie Shoko said that you’re an Oh- opres- oprester for trying to make me eat chicken nuggets.”

“You know Auntie Shoko also drinks a little too much wine at night so sometimes she doesn’t know what she’s talking about.”

They should really look into alternative childcare whenever, on the off chance they both get assigned a mission at the same time.

“Satoru.” Suguru scolded from the kitchen.

“right right sorry gumi, Auntie Shoko might be a little right on that one i’m sorry for trying to make you eat something you didn’t want to.” Satoru pulled back, looking at Megumi as he spoke.

“s’okay,” Megumi smiled. “Can I have spaghetti for dinner?”

“whatever you want megs.”
