~~~~~~SAPNAP~~~~~~
—————————————————
This fucking sucked.
This fucking sucked.
He’s back at his old house, which is really George’s house. His eyes glazed over with hot tears for the third time since he arrived which had to have been no less than two hours ago. He turned his head to the side, squeezing his eyes shut to prevent tears from burning his already irritated skin. His hands moved up to grab the rings that would usually dangle from his neck. The silver chain slightly rustic from the exposure to the outside world. His fingers rubbed the smooth rings over before a sob ripped through his body again, exhausting himself even further. His body shook from the sheer strength of the sobs coursing through his body. He vigorously wiped his eyes on his sleeves to try and prevent more burns. His body shook as a gutural cry left his throat, almost burning him internally, almost. His hands shoved into his lap and his head whipped up in an almost cat like sense at the doors usual creaking upon opening.
Beaded black eyes and a thin smile looked back at him, small locks of snow white hair fanning the top. Dream’s head tilted, his hair falling to the side. “Sap…Nick, what’s wrong? Why are you here?” He questioned softly, his voice lowering to a deeper version of its usual air, softening at the sight of his friend in tears. Dream Walking over, Sapnap hiccuped and threw his arms around the taller as soon as he could, going back to his body wracking sobbing. Dream wrapped a firm arm around the other’s waist, his spare hand reaching up and entangling itself in the raven hair. Sapnap cried into the other’s shoulder, not fearing the tears burning him anymore. They stayed close, only moving when Dream shifted to pull the younger closer, sinking onto the bed with the blaze hybrid as they tangled further into a comforting hold. Sapnap needed this. Dream may have needed it more.
Nick melted into the cooler of the two, preening at the physical affection he was neglected for so long. He looked up at the taller finally, wondering what he was thinking about. Dream’s hands kept brushing through Nick’s soft hair. “I’m…I’m so sorry. You can go, I understand you have a lot with this war and Tommy must be expe-“ Nick was cut off by Dream shaking his head softly, a hum leaving deep in his chest.
“Sap, what’s hurting you?” Dream asked firmly, gently pulling the other’s hair, causing the younger to look at him. Nick stared at the mask, mouth slightly agape before he shut it tightly. He pondered what would happen if he told Dream in whole.
“Well, the uh, marriage is off.” He mumbled, the words feeling wrong in his mouth, almost foreign. Dream’s mask moved ever so slightly, giving Nick the indication he was frowning. “Karl doesn’t fucking remember me, Quackity is a whole different person- and I’m left all alone. Again.” He clutched his fist, the familiar heat of anger enveloping his body. Dream gently pet him, tsking softly. “Now, now…Sapnap, we don’t want you angry, now do we? Take a few breaths with me okay? In…out…” Dream quietly cooed, walking the other through his anger. Sapnap snipped back after a bit, aggravated with not being able to read the other’s emotion, to see if Dream was actually paying attention or doozing off in his own DreamWasTaken world.
“Take the fucking mask off.” He demanded, Dream raised his hands up defensively and nodded, his hands reaching under his hood and grabbing the buckle. There was a soft click and release sound, followed by the could-be blonde gently taking the mask off. His face was flushed from the heat of the mask and probably room, his freckles standing warm against his skin. His green eyes batted at the other, lips slightly scarred from years of battle. He was just as beautiful as the raven remembered. Nick paused at that thought. He doesn’t see Dream with the mask off much anymore. Not since Tommy joined, at least. Sapnap’s eyes went slightly lidded, looking up and down the other with a small interest, looking at the others eyes again. Dream gave a half hearted smile. “Is this better, mister bossy pants?” Dream teased, Sapnap smiled affectionately at the other. “Much.” He smiles before remembering the reason his friend entered the room in the first place, the question of why Dream was back at George’s house in the first place danced in his mind, before he decided to wait on that one question. “I’m so sorry, again. I’m not holding you up am I?”
Dream looked away before looking back at the other with a sour, almost regretful look. “Yes, but its fine. I’m sorry about Karl and Quackity, man. You’re too good for them anyways. You’re unforgettable, Nick. You know that right?” He affirmed, standing up and adjusting his clothes. Sapnap felt his stomach pull at the loss of Dream’s hold. He gently pulled his arms to his chest and held himself, watching the other re-clasp his mask with skillful and nimble fingers. Dream bent down to the blaze and gently fixed his bandana. “Head up, Nick. Everything will be okay.” Dream assured, and Nick could feel the bright smile he once knew so well. Saw daily.
Nick took Dream’s hand, leaning his face against it, his body warming at the sensation. Some things he did with Dream were too romantic. Too intimate to not be seen as more. Sapnap looked at the older affectionately, just to be met with the same cold, almost uncomfortably neutral mask. “I…I need to go Nick.” Dream apologized. Sapnap pulled his hand away, Dream quickly stuffing his hand in his pocket. Sapnap opened his mouth just to shut it again. “Tell Tommy I said fuck you?” Sapnap gave a half smile, a bit uncertain. Dream nodded firmly and rushed out. Sapnap felt the air shift as he stood up, wanting to follow the other but knowing better. He looked down and clutched his fists. His mind wondered through the whole conversation as he paced the suffocatingly small room; he then paused and recalled the reason Dream may’ve been so distant; not holding him a bit closer or lounging a bit longer. Fundy.
Dream got married to the Fox hybrid a few months ago, unbeknownst to the ghost of the fox’s father. Dream had planned it all as a joke before he started gushing to George and Nick almost daily about the fox’s sweet antics and ‘cute little gestures’ to the green man. Sapnap always had a sense of jealousy of whoever Dream’s object of attraction. He knew Dream wouldn’t actually stick around, or at least he thought until Dream suddenly asked him to be his best man. Nothing else had ever crushed him like that.
Though, recently Dream and Fundy had been unstable. Dream insisting he knew what he was doing and Fundy just agreeing because he didn’t know what else to until it all got too much and he started arguing with Dream. Dream came to George one night apparently, Nick recalling the retelling, in angry tears. George let him stay the night so he would stop his “man babying.” Which really meant it was bad enough to where George was worried.
A few days later, six to be exact, passed without Dream returning. The rumors of his divorce made there way to Sapnap’s ears first almost. None of it truly surprised the hybrid, but the fact his friend didn’t come home slightly did. Nick was looking in the mirror when he heard faint talking down stairs. He paused and slipped out of the bathroom, heading to the top of the staircase. Soft mumbling could be heard, the voice was familiar, it belonged to somebody he knew very well. His ex fiancé whispered to George, the brothers seeming to be hiding something. Nick leaned down and listened closer.
“He needs to be put away George.”
“I’m not going.” Sapnap heard George say firmly, a slam of a chest heard all through the house. “Unlike you, I love Dream. He’s just a bit out of his head.”
“He’s- George listen, Punz got a message from Tommy-“
“Tommy vandalized my home, and burnt down the community house. I could care less about what he does or what happens to him.” George fired back at the latino man. Sapnap can’t recall a time he’s ever heard the colorblind man angrier.
“Punz, Awesamdude, Antfrost, Me, Puffy, Ranboo, Hbomb, Eret, Ponk, Jack, fuck, even Callahan….”
“And me.” Nick said, now standing at the end of the stairs. “What is Dream doing to those kids?” He questioned lowly, his voice hitting a threatening level. Quackity looked at the fellow raven and shame crossed his face, before he went stoic again. His wigs fluffed up behind him and he gripped his axe to a point where it was almost white. Quackity bit the inside of his cheek before looking at the man perched on the end of the stairs.
“I don’t know. All I know is they’re in danger.” He said to Sapnap. The blaze looked down as anger boiled in his stomach. How many times had he told Dream to be careful? To have empathy as they barely knew better? They were fucking kids still with traumatizing upbringings. Dream must have gone mad if Quackity isn’t lying. Sapnap turned and headed to the armor stand with a tag above that said his name and started equipping it. His armor bar filling high. He reached into his end chest before he whipped around with wide eyes at George.
“Nick…Sapnap, its Dream! Our friend! He wouldn’t do this. Not without a reason.” George spoke slowly, his sleep, or therefore lack of, making his thoughts and speech slurred almost. Sapnap hugged George tightly. George didn’t hug back. Nick buried his face lovingly in George’s chest. “I’m sorry, George. It’s what’s right. Don’t keep staying up worrying about him. If it’s not true I’ll be at his side, and bring him home like I always do.” The blaze promised.
How fucking wrong George was, and how fucking right was Quackity.
He followed the group, staring at the bruised and empty, crying teenagers of the SMP. He almost felt unreal in that situation. His axe to heavy or his armor too light. He watched his friend, powerless dump all his armor and get killed by Tommy twice. Dream now sits back, leaning against his obsidian mini-prison, a totem to what his future would hold. Sapnap felt to light as he listened to the commentary from AweSamDude. His eyes drifted to his other friend, who had his eyes firmly attached to Dream.
Punz gripped his axe a little tighter, watching Dream a little too closely, but too dearly, for Dream to be looked at. Sapnap watched Punz’s eyes go lax when Tommy spoke aloud.
“Let’s put him in the fuckin’ prison!”
Sapnap’s world snapped in and focused, mumbling something along the lines of ‘yea’ but kept his eyes trained on Punz, then shifted them to Dream who had turned his head to stare back almost, the mask still covering his face. Sapnap took a step back and remembered the events from a week ago. Tommy stacked two blocks in front of dream, hopping on before he started giving his speech. Sapnap’s breath left his chest. Sapnap moved to the obsidian cage’s side as instructed shortly soon.
“Sam, Sapnap cou….ank yo..” Tommy’s words drifted in and out his mind, Sapnap staring at the obsidian. How deeply his anger was rooted, how heavy his heart was. Sapnap couldn’t help but to perk up when Dream spoke.
“I blew up the community house.” His voice said, raspy from the yelling. Sapnap winced at it. Tommy kept his bantering up, rubbing salt in Dream’s wounded ego.
“What else do you want me to say?..” why was the world so quiet? Sapnap could see Tommy yelling but he could only process the poor hurt in Dream’s voice. How defeated he sounded. Dream didn’t say anything else, and Tommy covered him again. Nick fought against the burning behind his eyes. He looked up at Tommy as he spoke. Not hearing a word that came out of his mouth. Sapnap eventually turned around and looked at the hallway. “Hey…Tommy…what was…in this hallway over here?” He started walking, eyes focused. He ignored everything that happened before frowning. “Beckerson?….” He whispered, gently pulling the item from the frame. Tommy said something to him that he only slightly processed.
When the obsidian was released Sapnap was faced to face with him for a last time. Dream’s shoulders slagged slightly. Dream immediately turned and lashed out at Tommy, Nick quickly stepping in the way and pulling him back with surprising strength. “Woah woah, stop, stop, stop.” He said, standing in front of Dream. Half to protect Tommy and half to be near the snow white haired man. Sapnap gently snagged his arm and pulled him along. “Come on, Dream.” He ordered half heartedly, Dream only obeying when demanded by the raven. Sapnap’s chest puffed up in pride, before it falling when he got a sliver of hope that Dream may still have a heart- that the man loved him.
Sapnap went up the elevator with Dream and Sam. His arm gripping the prisoner as he felt the anger and abandon hitting him harshly. “I opened up to you, Dream. I let you see every side of me and now this? You’re a terrible person. I hope you fucking rot in that prison.” He spat. Dream turned his head to Sapnap, silent. Sapnap’s hair lit up with his searing anger. Dream opened his mouth behind the mask just to shut it. Sapnap looked away in distaste.
“I just…wanted us all to be united, under-“
“Shut the fuck up, Dream.” Sapnap glared, digging his nails into the older. Dream’s mask shifted as he, assumingely, shut his mouth. Sapnap looked down at his armored boots, a soft frown on his face. He didn’t even care about his ex fiancé being there, he was purely worried about Dream and sort of the minors. Sapnap thought about if he kept Dream a bit longer, maybe if he put the key pieces together sooner. Maybe if he was smarter, if he was quicker to see his friend changing he would’ve been able to save him. Dream leaned in when Sam turned around, whispering quietly in Sapnap’s ear. Nick’s hair sat on the edge and his face flushed pink despite his continued anger directed at the man. He half resisted the urge to kill the man and end his heartbreak there.
“I hope you’ll visit me, yeah? Maybe you can tell me updates about everything that happens. Tell George I love him for me?” Dream tried to joke, at Sapnap, smiling under the mask and the raven just continued to face forward.
“Shut the fuck up. I won’t do shit for you.” Sapnap swore at the green eyed terrorist. Dream stood straight and faced forward, stoic. Sapnap almost wished he’d keep talking to him. He thought back to him and Dream the other day. The love that Dream showed him, how warm he felt less than a week ago. Sapnap gazed at Dream and glared, feeling the familiar burning in his chest of remorse and loss. His feet dug into the wet grass and he winced.
The prison was terrifying. Sapnap could agree though that its a masterfully built prison and the design amazed him in a sort of uncomfortable, paranoid way. He wanted to know everything about it. He navigated with Sam, leading Dream to the prisoners area but got confused when he was pulled past this. Dream starting thrashing out of nowhere, sam keeping sturdy.
“No! No! Don’t put me in the vault! Sam!” Sapnap winced at the panic in Dream’s usually calm, raspy voice. “Sapnap please! Don’t let Sam do this to me!” Dream tried to plea, Sapnap wished he could stop hearing then and there. He wanted to hunch over and rip his ears off. Sapnap kept pushing forward, pinching his eyes shut when he heard the older male start to cry hysterically. Maybe, Dream didn’t deserve whatever the vault was, but before Sapnap could get to this destination Sam stopped him.
“This is as far as you go, Sapnap, at least until tomorrow.” Sam said, gently shooing Sapnap as Dream was gifted orange prisoner attire. Sapnap looked away with what appeared to be pure range, which was truly guilt manifesting itself. “Of course, Sam. You’re right.” Sapnap stepped away, looking at Dream longingly before leaving.
Chapter Text
Four weeks.
Four weeks past before Sapnap realizes how agonizing being alone truly is. His hands gently comb through brunette curls as George lays flat on the ground, fallen asleep once again during their visits. Sapnap’s eyes drifted down to George’s face. George didn’t look peaceful in his sleep, if anything he looked even more drained, worried. Sapnap was aware of the brunette’s days spent planning. He didn’t say a word to Sam or Quackity. He didn’t utter a word about anything that had happened, or planned to happen. His eyes were hazy with grief and loneliness. His fingers warmed up and gently warmed George’s scalp, trying to keep the older man calmed and rested. George’s face relaxed with a twitch, his features softening, but the month of worry not wavering. Sapnap looked around at the warm grass and then towards the sky, numbed by the sun’s kiss to his skin.
Sapnap gently shifted and lifted George, carrying him bridal style. George’s hair laid itself across the younger’s shoulder. The raven frowned at his sudden ability to easily carry the mushroom king. Sapnap briskly walked home, the grass brushing up to his knees and tickling the exposed skin from his ripped jeans. Sapnap slowed half way, warm eyes scanning the horizon. The air danced around the blaze hybrid, giving him a cold chill. He shivered harshly, his body jolting around, resulting in Sapnap’s own surprise at George’s continue slumber. Sapnap sped home, wanting nothing more than to curl up next to the brunette and sleep.
The door opened dryly, almost creaky. Sapnap bumped it closed behind him. He walked to the couch and laid George on it softly, tucking George in with the green blanket provided nearby. Dream’s blanket. It even had a little white smile embroidered onto it by George. It smelled just like the deviant, it didn’t take a blaze hybrid; with exceptional smell dare he say; to know that. Nick pretended he didnt notice George slipping into Dream’s room and crying silently. Nick pretended for a whole month he didn’t see George’s grief in fear of uncovering his own.
Sapnap went around and slipped into the slot available in the couch, wrapping his arms around George’s waist which felt even smaller than usual. Sapnap would have to ask bout that soon. Nick let his eyes drift shut as he inhaled the smell of his two best friends. One right in his arms, and the other miles away in an obsidian prison. Sapnap felt his stomach drop as the guilt hit him again. Listening to Dream’s sobs and screams. Begging the blazeborn to save the older from ‘the vault.’ Sapnap shook his head softly before going still at hearing a soft hiccup. Sapnap’s eyes drifted up to see George gripping the blanket in his sleep. small tears dancing his cheeks. Sapnap frowned at the tears. He allowed his mind to wonder as the stared at the sleeping man. Would George cry like this for sapnap?
No. Nobody cares about him enough to actually grieve his loss. Nick’s eyes glazed over as he kept thinking. Nobody would feel physical pain over him. He is nothing but a side character, even in his own story he’s a side character, an extra, a proxy for the others to use for nothing but plot progression. Sapnap’s breath stuttered as he felt a hand brush up into his hair, George’s other arm holding him close. Sapnap felt George start to sob and this time Sapnap didn’t hold back, squeezing onto the older and joining him. George crying for Dream, and Sapnap crying for himself, because nobody else would. The blaze sobbed heavily as George apologized for what seemed nothing.
“Nick, listen to me.”
“Yeah?” Sapnap’s voice wavered, causing him to cringe at his own vocal cracks.
“No matter what, in every person realize that good only exists until it doesn’t. The ability to feel empathy exists for us all, and the ability to love is something we all harnesses.” George whispered, bringing his lips to the top of Sapnap’s head. The blaze’s eyes shake slightly as his eyes shrink and focus at nothing. George was never one for upfront affection, so whatever distressed him, caused him such immense grief to give Sapnap something as caring and intimate as a kiss, on the head even, was scarier then Sapnap ever wanted to imagine.
George pulled away, gripping the green blanket and he slipped off the couch, rubbing tears away and going stoic as usual. “I’m going to-…”
“Go sleep in Dream’s room?” The raven claimed in an accusatory voice. George frowned lightly before looking toward the staircase. “Get over him George!” Sapnap started, sitting up on the couch, his body quickly heating up. Sapnap watched as George’s mouth twitched slightly into a frown. “Don’t you fucking get it?! That’s not our Dream! That’s not Clay!” The shorter of the two yelled. George looked down and clutched his hand around the green fabric.
“Sapnap…That’s what I’m afraid of. Our Dream is gone. That guy in there isn’t ours. I’m not grieving that monster, i’m grieving my best friend.” George explained, barely above a whisper. Sapnap thought he heard the brunette’s voice waver. “I’m sorry, Sap. I’ve always been closer with Dream, as you were closer with Dream. We never truly bonded, did we? It’s too late for that anyways.” George whispered, putting a finger to Sapnap’s lips as he bent down.
“I’m going to bed- in my bed. Don’t wake me up… I’ll talk to you tomorrow. Rest well.” George said to Nick. The shorter stayed quiet as he watched George slip off into his room and shut the door. Sapnap teared up but squeezed his eyes shut before he could cry. Rising to his feet he stumbled out of the livingroom and to the fireplace. His eyes shine as reflective glass to the flames. He sat down in front of it, watching the flames lick the edge but never leave the fireplace.
Sapnap dipped his fingers into the fire and gently harnessed some, letting it dance between his right hand’s fingers and loop around his flesh. He switched it to his left hand and watched it lick the flesh softly, the sensation of something alike cotton. His eyes drift to the fireplace with a soft frown, then back to the baby flame in his fingers. He squeezed his hand shut and watched the flame take its final breath before going out.
Sapnap stands up and looks around the house, eyes centering down on his comunicator, long abandoned from earlier. He whisps over and lifts it, opening the device. The notifications were normal beside a message from ‘PunzOp’ that stood out.
———————————————
Punz whispers to you: Hey,
sappynappy. i miss you. meet
me on Xx, Yy. Wear somethn
You whispered to punz: im
a hour late ): can i still come?
Punz whispers to you: of
Sapnap tucked his communicator away and quickly went up the stairs, heading to his bedroom to throw something comfortable and cleaner on. Sapnap danced around his closet before pausing at a plain black teeshirt. He raised an eyebrow and grabbed it, bringing it to his nose. Smelled just like Dream. Sapnap’s eyes fluttered shut as he sighed contently. The memory of gaining the shirt drifting past like a nice breeze.
”Take this, just for now. Your shirt is wet and it’s hurting you-“ Dream begged, the taller holding a black tee out, Sapnap turned red at the offer.
“I’m really fine Dream, it was just a bucket-“ He tried to interrupt. Dream stopped him.
“Do you have a binder on?” Dream asked politely. Sapnap’s smile fell at the thought of taking it off, though that would explain the sudden hardness with breathing. Dream gently sat him down on the chair in Sam’s guest bedroom (which was basically Dream’s room. )They had to enter the house after sapnap got wet from a failed bucket challenge. Dream headed to the door and locked it, heading to the blinds and drawing them shut. “Okay, thats fine. Do you want me to leave so you can change? You can have my white hoodie too if you want, um, I know you tend to only wear those?”
Sapnap started to tear up and cry out of anger. Dream went very quiet for a moment. Sapnap held his hands to his eyes, before jolting at warm hands on his shoulders. He looked up. Dream, now maskless was smiling. “Look at me. Keeping it on when you’re wet can cause breathing problems, speedruns cancelled, its cool. I care more about you and your health then the dumb dragon.” Dream assured. Sapnap gripped his hair angrily.
“Why are you so fucking nice Dream!?” He spat, Dream rolled his eyes. The white haired man gently got up and walked towards the closet, grabbing a white hoodie and laying it out, and a pair of baggy joggers he owned. “Change into these, Sappy. I’m gonna step out, put your binder in my hamper under your wet clothes and I’ll wash it when we get back.” He said, stepping out the room with a cocky smile.
Sapnap smiled warmly at the memory, gently slipping his current shirt off and throwing the new one on. He missed Dream more then he wanted to admit. How could he not? His friend wasn’t always bad. Sapnap gently slipped on cargo pants, tucking part of the baggy shirt in while in half thought. Dream used to be so considerate. He was always so gentle. George said earlier people are good until they aren’t; theres always the ability of Dream still being good?
Sapnap snapped back into reality when he stumbled on the stairs. What was this man thinking? He gently shook his head and slipped his shoes on, rushing toward the cords Punz gave him, the cool air chilling him, and causing him to silently curse his ignorance to his earlier knowledge of the air’s biting presence. His feet quickly hammered against the wood as he rushed to a garden by Punz’s house, rubbing his arms. When he arrived Punz looked dead, almost numbed to the world. Sapnap took note of his sunken eyes and flattened posture before calling out.
Punz’s smile instantly appeared, the lines not reaching his eyes. His shoulders straightening out as he gripped the axe in hand, before switching his inventory to a blank slot, clearing his hands. Sapnap frowned slightly, before smiling again.
“Hey Sapnap! How are you?” Punz smiled, dapping the raven up. Sapnap smiled at the platinum blonde. Punz was definitely attractive in Sapnap’s eyes, cute minty blue eyes and light blonde hair. Punz pulled Sapnap into a hug and Sapnap felt nothing less than tiny to this man. He wasn’t…not used to being shorter, with George being 6’ and Dream being almost 6’6, Sapnap was 5’8. Punz was 7’1 last Nick asked.
Punz pulled away and started walking through the garden. Sapnap followed closely, watching the now yellowish green grass crunch under his feet. Sapnap frowned. Punz turned and looked at nick. “It’s chilly. Do you have a coat?” Sapnap smiled sheepishly and shook his head. Punz sighed and grabbed the blaze’s hand. “Stick by me then, i’m warm.” Punz informed, Sapnap obeyed.
Punz’s tennis shoes cracked against the tough Earthly floor. He started plucking plants, Sapnap, wanting to be helpful follow suite. Punz chuckled quietly as the two worked in quiet unison. Sapnap’s hands stumbled slightly as he uprooted the carrots gently.
”Sap, can youuu….grab me some carrots?” Dream’s voice bounced off the cave walls as Sapnap dropped carrots from his inventory. Dream caught them and ate one, using another one to make a carrot on a stick. Sapnap smiled courtly.
“What are we doing this for?” He questioned, walking over and wrapping his arms around Dream’s waist, pushing his face against his shoulder blades. Dream sat a bit straighter, his body warming up quickly.
“To tease Techno…are you cold?” Dream asked, reaching back and pulling Sapnap to his front. Sapnap pushed him playfully.
“You’re so fuckin’ gay….yeah.” Sapnap murmured the last bit only partially lying for the affection, leaning in. Dream’s arms wrapped around the younger and then got back to work on crafting. Sapnap looked up at the unmasked man. “You’re so focused.”
“Huh? What?”
“Nothing, man.”
Sapnap’s face burned hotter than his flame, looking at his inventory of full carrots and an empty farm. He heard a soft murmur of shock behind him, causing the raven to turn and look up at Punz. Punz raised an eyebrow with a slight smile.
“You’re good at farming.” Punz said. Sapnap rubbed the nape of his neck with an embarrassed laugh. “I…guess so.” He murmured. Punz brought himself to his feet and walked over, holding a basket, where nick put al the collected carrots of various sizes.
Sapnap thought back to these memory flashes he keeps having and looks sadly at his hands, dirty not only from picking carrots but from the blood of his ex best friend that was undoubtedly shed. All of this was his fault. He ruined it. He didn’t save Dream. He didn’t comfort George. This was all him this time.
Sapnap felt his breathing stop as his throat tightened like a fleshy rope. His hands reach up and start to crawl at the quickly rising bile. This cannot be happening again to him. The raven felt down as he felt the guilt tear into his flesh like merciless bees and sting him until he was in agonizing pain. The guilt of ruining everything was literally eating him alive it felt.
Orange eyes shake and lose rapid focus, his world seems to move in slow motion, taunting him with its peaceful vibrance and beauty. How cruel it was that he felt like this while the world looked so beautiful ahead…
Sapnap’s eyes widened as his mouth opened and a fresh pile of puke formed a few inches in front of him. Grasping his stomach he felt distant hands rubbing his back. His eyes wettened and tears slid down his flushed cheeks, sobs pushing past his now sore throat.
“It’s all my fault I…I can’t believe I-I let this happen… I’m a terrible friend, I’m a terrible person I-“ Sapnap got cut off as a sob rocked through him, tearing through his stomach as bile rose again, this time it coming out soupy and clear. His body was puking up its fluids now.
~~~~~~~PUNZ~~~~~~~~
———————————————
Punz’s eyes scanned over the ravenette with curiosity. Dream had warned him about the small outbursts but this was completely new. Sapnap was practically choking on his words and puking everywhere. Punz would move if they didn’t feel some sort of pity. Their arms wrapped around the smaller and lifted him up bridal style, watching Sapnap’s exhausted body go limp. Punz pulled the younger closed and mulled over his decisions before their eyes (all four, for that matter) drifted to a clean, white house. Skeppy and Bad.
Well, if anybody knew what was wrong with the warm blaze hybrid it would obviously be his own parents right? Punz’s shoes crunched onto the hardened grass as he started his path. His body instinctively held the slowly freezing man. Well, freezing was over exaggerating but sapnap chose to wear a t-shirt in 55° weather so really it was his own fault. Punz sighed and smiled and the smaller. How silly. The blonde’s steps quickened as he made his way through the path. He knew Skeppy had to be home as the diamond never left. He wondered if there was a reason for that but they quickly shoved the thought off. Their shoes made contact with firm concrete as they walked up to the newly made, well kept house big enough to fix a demon. He found it funny that such a simple, quiet home was the home of a demon and it’s emotional support diamond golem…hybrid…husband thing.
The blond shifted and used his elbow to bump the doorbell, which rung a beautiful chimed tune. The tune was perfect for Bad and Skeppy. The soft ringing like a diamond with lowly echos for Bad. Such a lovely couple. The door opened and Punz was greeted with nothing. Confused, he looked down to see Skeppy with a raised eyebrow, before spotting Sapnap where is confusion shifted to nothing less than motherly worry.
“What…happened to him?” Skeppy murmured hesitantly, almost afraid. Punz felt deep concern at the usually bright and laughter filled diamond’s new demeanor. Punz gently shifted from foot to foot while thinking.
“He seemed to have a… panic attack? He started purging afterward too.” Punz responded. Skeppy’s eyes widened.
“Purging? You mean puking? Regurgitating?” He clarified. The blonde nodded and noted the diamonds new urgency. The hybrid swooped in then moved to the side, opening the door. “Put him on the couch, you may leave if you desire.” Skeppy said, soft leather shoes hitting the tile and creating soft thuds as he rushed to the kitchen. Punz entered the house and shut the door with his bum gently. He turned slowly and walked to the couch, laying the raven down carefully.
“While I do thank you ast your offer genuinely as I can, I wish to remain for my friend, Mr.Halo.” Punz went to continue talking before getting interrupted. “Skeppy. Just call me Skeppy. Nobody calls me Mr.Halo.” They said firmly, Punz nodded.
Skeppy set down a pot of lava and reached in, grabbing a handfull and gently running it through the raven locks that Sapnap possessed. Punz panicked before seeing the younger lean into the warmth. Skeppy frowned. “Go to the closet and grab me the black blanket with little fire patches, and plug it into the outlet right by your foot.” He murmured. Punz got up and walked to the presumed closet, opening it.
The closest was full of little niknaks, then, folded neatly in the crisp center was a black heated blanket, with little fire emblems hand sewn on. punz grabbed the blanket and held it in one arm, looking through the closet still his eyes lurked to dusty trophies, family pictures and little toys. Punz smiled sadly before remembering the task at hand, closing the closet and walking back to the diamond hybrid and the blazeborn.
Punz plugged the blanket in and tucked the ravenette in, watching skeppy work quickly. “What…what now?” He asked, his eyes scanning over skeppy. Skeppy’s brown, almost black hair covered his warm skin. Sprinkling the warm skin were diamond freckles, and that was just the beginning. Skeppy’s right side of her face was almost completely diamond covered, shaped like a permanent, unmelting ice sculpture. His mouth parted softly as he breathed out a sigh of worry. He was small, around 5’ (five ft) at most. It’s hand was made of pure diamond and Punz could only begin to imagine the rest of her under the blue hoodie. Not like that of course.
“Well…we wait for him to wake up.” Skeppy sighed, kissing his adopted son’s forehead. Punz smiled sadly and sat back, anticipating his friend’s awakening.
Notes:
A few notes before i get violently mauled.
No, I am not forcing mom and dad gender roles onto skeppy and bad !! skeppy in this story is written as a nonhuman, diamond hybrid, who is perfectly okay with whatever people call it!! (My interpretation is based on a fictive !!)
No, punz is not an asshole, however, he is an alien here so I wrote him to talk like how a nonhuman I imagine would think !! I gave him what a human would be taught, which means assumptions of roles.
No, this story does not equal the characters mentioned and my portrayal is simply my portrayal and this is not at all based on the content creators. purely dream smp canon.
Also, the timeline is skewered because i need it to run a certain way for the story’s progression!!!Think about maybe dropping a kudos? or a comment?? makes me really happy (: thanks.
