Summary
Izzy has this sharp look in his eyes, this stern set to his jaw that he used to get. Rarer and rarer in the last decade, but it's made a few sporadic returns in the past couple of months. After the summer, really, after the horrible fucking weeks in August that they still don't really know how to talk about, that Ed really doesn't want to think about right now.
They'd much rather just let themselves be pinned down by that stare, the way it runs over their face – intimate, revealing. Ed feels open and observed and known.
"Love getting under my skin, do you?" Izzy asks, and, yeah. Known.
They're working on their marriage.
