Work Text:

After Sammy and Jake finished filming the tortilla slap video for the Blues Instagram, Sammy, of course, couldn’t stop laughing. He was the one who suggested the game, but he kept on losing. Jake found it adorable that Sammy has a hard time keeping a straight face. It’s contagious. After the guys went back to the locker room, Jake held Sammy’s hand.

“Your laugh is so contagious, it’s annoying,” Jake said with a laugh. Sammy looked at him with a confused expression.

“Why is it annoying?” Sammy asked. Jake stood in the middle of the locker room with him and looked into his eyes.

“No, in a good way. You always make me laugh when you laugh. God, just your laugh… your smile…” Jake trailed off when Sammy smiled again. Something about his smile made Jake tick inside.

Sammy looked down to Jake and wrapped his arms around his waist. Jake wrapped his arms around Sammy’s neck. Sammy started giggling again which caused Jake to roll his eyes and laugh again.

“God, Sammy,” Jake said and cupped his face, pulling him into a kiss. Sammy was taken off guard by this, but then he closed his eyes and melted into the kiss. Jake pulled back and smiled.

“Aha! Found something that doesn’t make you laugh,” he said, giggling. Sammy rolled his eyes and laughed.

“Just kiss me, Jake,” Sammy said, pulling him in. He lifted Jake up and pushed him against the wall. Jake moaned and wrapped his legs around his waist.

“My big Sammy,” Jake said. Sammy laughed loudly and said “I’m not that heavy.”

“I was talking about your height,” Jake said. Sammy smirked.

“You sure you’re not talking about something else?” Sammy asked, cackling as Jake lightly slapped him on the cheek.

“You’re so nasty,” Jake said.

“It’s because I love you, Jake. When we won gold in the IIHF Championships, something sparked between us. It felt so great being with you in that moment. Do you feel the same way? I know I asked you out after our last seasonal game, but I really do,” Sammy confessed. Jake stroked Sammy’s hair.

“Yes, I do. I love you as a teammate, and something more. I love you, Sammy Blais,” Jake said, kissing him passionately.
