Work Text:
It was a busy day; work kept coming in until the sky turned orange without you noticing. While tidying up the files on your desk, you receive a message from Qingzhu.
Qingzhu:
Miss, I'm not in the Seat of Divine Foresight. When I left at noon, the General had not eaten anything since the morning. If you visit the general, you can check whether the general has eaten his food. But I'm afraid the breakfast and lunch prepared are cold and not fit for the General to eat anymore.
You:
All right, thanks for telling me. Good job for today, Qingzhu.
You feel like you don't have any energy to just walk to a restaurant and order food because you are also tired. So you just grabbed bread and jam from the cupboard in your office and headed straight to the Seat of Divine Foresight.
When you arrive at the gate, the guards outside immediately greet you by bowing and opening the way for you.
You entered and saw Jing Yuan lost in thought in his seat, looking at what you thought was a map. He didn't even notice that you were in the room. You tell the guards to come out, and they nod and make room for the two of you.
"General."
Hearing himself being called, Jing Yuan snapped out of his thought and raised his head to see you smiling at him while picking up the bag of bread and jam you brought.
"Rest a little; I brought you bread and jam. Sorry, it's not fancy food; you neglected your breakfast and lunch. It's already late; the maids are already packing to go home."
Jing Yuan sighed, smiled at you, and shifted from his spot to make you sit beside him. He also tidied up some papers on his desk to make it easier for you to put the bread and jam on them.
"I'm sorry, I was too focused on this pile of papers. Come here."
You shook your head with a chuckle and came to his side. You started opening the bag, taking out the bread and jam you brought. Take the pieces of bread one by one and spread the jam on them.
Jing Yuan only watched you from the side; it was not the bread that he had his eyes on, but your face. He thought, How beautiful your face is, with the reflection of the orange afternoon light coming from the big window in his room. Your divine-like beauty seems to make him forget to blink. Without him noticing, his hands grabbed your hair that fell to the side of your face to pin it to your ear. And that action startles you a bit and makes you stop for a moment and look at him before continuing to spread the jam on the bread again.
"What is it?"
You ask him in the most innocent tone. Makes him want to eat you immediately, not the bread.
"Nothing. I was just thinking, if every day I am given a beautiful view like this, it feels like my life is very blessed."
You gasped in silence at his confession. Some of the jam slipped off the bread until it was on your finger.
Jing Yuan chuckled at your very cute reaction. He took your arm, placed the bread and jam on a plate, and then brought your finger to his lips.
"Look, how careless. Are you a child? No, even Yanqing didn't do this."
You just silently stared at him and your finger. What you didn't expect was that Jing Yuan would lick and bite your finger, and your mouth let out a little scream.
"What are you doing???"
"It looks so delicious, I can't help it."
You quickly pulled your hand away from him and gave him a questioning look. But Jing Yuan only chuckled back and smiled meaningfully, looking at your finger.
He gave you a mark.

"Miss!! You're finally home!"
The cheerful and sweet voice of a teenager is heard the moment you open the door. Yanqing immediately ran towards you. You turned to him, giving an apologetic expression while scratching your slightly embarrassed cheek with your finger.
"Sorry I'm late, a lot of documents arrived today and I have to finish half of them."
Yanqing nodded and led you to the living room. You thank him, and he immediately prepares tea for you.
"Yanqing, you do not have to do that."
But Yanqing just giggled and handed you the tea he made.
"Miss, you must be very tired. I'll make you a sunny-side-up egg! Well, that's all I can cook. Ehehe"
You quickly refused and told him that you had eaten with General Jing Yuan before heading home. And as you'd expect, his talkative mouth started asking questions about many things. It wasn't until you drank the tea again that Yanqing's gaze focused on a finger of yours that had a bite mark on it.
"Miss, what is it?"
You were confused and looked at him, but before you could ask what he meant, he grabbed the teacup, put it on the table, then immediately grabbed the finger that had the bite mark and rubbed it gently.
"Miss, what's this mark?"
He looked at you questioningly. You paused, and your face turned red, thinking that it was a bite caused by Jing Yuan.
"Ah, no! Wait! Don't say anything. I know! This must be the General's doing, right!?"
Oh. How could he know, you think. Without looking at him, you just nodded. You can believe that the heat has spread to your ears. Yanqing didn't make a sound, but you didn't expect the sudden pain from your other finger to make you gasp (again).
Looking at Yanqing, he looked at you with that childish, sly grin that looked like he was jealous and proud at the same time.
"If the general gives you one, I can also give you one, Miss."
You only tilted your head, confused as to what this kid meant or what he and Jing Yuan biting your two fingers meant.
