Summary
CEO Lena Luthor decides that she misses engineering and arranges to spend her Fridays working on another floor with the R&D teams. One day a set of ropes drops outside the windows of her second office, and soon after a cleaner lowers into view like a spider. What starts as smiles and waves grows into more, and they each have their own secrets to reveal.
___“Thank you for indulging me, Jess,” Lena said as they walked across the open floor plan workspace with collaboration areas and over to the smaller private offices along the perimeter. Jess led the way.
“You’re the boss, Ms. Luthor,” Jess said, pulling a key card from her pocket and opening a door. “This is yours,” she said, entering first and standing aside for Lena to follow. “The drafting table you asked for is already here, and, as promised,” Jess said with a sigh, “no phone.”
