It was all Nosedive's fault.
Wildwing stared irritably into the icy fog. Just what was he supposed to do now?
Hunt his brother down and murder him, that's what.
Wildwing had been having a pretty good day up to now. Now, he was grumpy and his beak was cold, and all the fourteen-year-old could think about was tying the little duck to the goalie net in the alley behind the house and leaving him there for a few days.
But Nosedive probably didn't even realize what he'd done, and Wildwing would never manage much more in the way of a rebuke than "Please don’t do it again." Of course, Nosedive would do it again, that was a given.
And what could he do, really? His baby brother was Wildwing's biggest weakness. He just couldn't stay mad at the younger duckling, no matter what the darn kid did.
With a scowl, Wildwing threw the empty ice tray back into the freezer and slammed the door.
"Damn it!!"
"Wildwing Flashblade!!"
The teen whirled around, eyes wide.
"M-MOM!! ...Wh-When did you get h-home?? I-I mean, um... Sorry, Mom..." He sighed, knowing he was in for a grounding.
And it was all Nosedive's fault.
