Mallory scowled as she followed Tanya around the store. As per Tanya's direct orders, she was touching nothing but what she was handed, and even then, it was to put it directly into the cart she was pushing.
She wanted to be anywhere else. For DuCaine's sake, she'd settle for fighting the Saurians, as long as it got her out of here.
She just wasn't comfortable around machines, and this insanely huge store—'Lectric Land was very accurate—made her so tense she could hardly bear to move. Everywhere she looked there was something that, no matter how heavy it looked, Mallory knew she could find a way to destroy it.
Sure, there were a few exceptions to her distrust of electronics—the Duck's weapons and vehicles, for instance. But mostly, she avoided technology whenever possible—which wasn't often enough. It was pretty much unavoidable.
The redhead yelped as the cart stopped suddenly, the handle ramming hard into her ribs. Tanya grabbed her arm and yanked her backwards, just in time for the biggest stereo speaker Mallory had ever seen to crash into the cart, destroying its contents.
She had never been so happy to wait in the car.
