i was just a normal person
who longed to live in peace.
built a house by myself
and worked hard.
not waiting for the next day,
and not waiting for this one to end.
now was all the mattered.
the rhythm
of chores
around the house,
a break given
whenever i wanted.
silence ringing through the air
as i was with my thoughts.
not seeing anyone else for years.
but then
you
showed up.
on the side of the road,
blood
pouring from your wound.
i took you in
gave you water and food,
and you fit into my life like a missing puzzle piece.
with your knowledge from afar,
you regaled me with tales
of lands afar
and fields ravaged
with war.
but it all sounded so beautiful.
you were healed.
you left.
you left me behind,
in my quiet corner
of the world id only heard of.
things settled.
i went back to my
monotonous life,
happy with it.
but then you came back,
the fires following you,
and people shouting for a sacrifice.
a martyr for a cause thats not my own.
