Bonds Gleaming In The Sun

Summary:

The first thing he saw was sunshine, almost blinding in its intensity, before he adjusted his optics. His metal slowly warmed beneath the sun's heat. He couldn't help but turn towards it. Couldn't help but turn off his optics and let the sun bring him back to life, as it did a sunflower that had been kept indoors for too long.

Couldn't help but feel the heavy stare on his frame.

Notes:

Just randomly got hit with this idea last night and couldn't help myself.

Work Text:

Sam didn't know how many days, weeks, or even months had passed before he was allowed to leave the room. The constant glitches took a toll on his internal clock. Not that he dared to voice it when he was finally deemed stable enough to go outside.

He pretended not to.

Though, he couldn't suppress the shiver that ran through his frame as Megatron caressed him with his optics alone. A caress so much like that on the rooftop so long ago. Full of appreciation, of longing, of hunger, of a vision, a goal.

Megatron hadn't touched him since then.

A blessing.

A curse.

A cruel peace.

A kind torture.

Sam couldn't decide.

Wished he could remain in this limbo.

He powered up his optics, and turned towards the mech. Took in his powerful frame, his strong armor. That of a warrior, a gladiator. A killer, a tyrant. One that was strong enough to fight off anyone wishing harm upon him. Anyone that would try to take him away. It gleamed in the sunlight just as it had on that day, when he-

When he-

When the AllSpark felt Megatron’s wish, and did everything it could to fulfill it. His body recreated for Megatron's wants, his needs, his lust. Meanwhile, Sam’s wishes, his wants, were deleted, thrown aside uncaringly as if they meant nothing. All of his choices torn away.

Oh...

The only reason Megatron hadn't touched him since then, was that he created a false choice for him. A choice on whether or not he accepted Megatron's claim. One unspoken, unconsummated. Yet, one that burned as hot as the sun did. If he would allow the mech to bind their sparks together, to never be separated from him again.

He didn't know if Megatron knew what went on within his processor in that room. If he was aware that all Sam could think about as he scratched at the walls to be let out was to find Megatron, and curl up against his frame. If he knew that the AllSpark rarely let him think without reminding him of the vision, of how happy he would be carrying and raising Megatron's sparklings. Of how good Megatron would take care of him, of how good Megatron would make him feel during the sparking.

The promise of the safety of Megatron's arms called to him.

The blade of his doom hung over his neck.

He took a few steps towards Megatron, slowly, carefully. Megatron didn't move. Just patiently waited for Sam to come to him. There was no need for him to do more. He already knew how this would end. They both did.

Sam slowly lifted a servo and settled it on the plates of Megatron's chest. A shiver ran through him as the AllSpark almost overwhelmed his systems with the amount of happiness and contentment it flooded him with to combat the dread he felt at his choice, nonexistent as his ability to truly say no was.

"My parents...," he started, but didn't dare finish.

Megatron eyed him for a few, painfully long seconds. Then his servo settled over Sam's, easily covered it completely. "They will be alive to meet their grandchildren," he promised. Then hesitated. "At least some of them."

For they were still human with human lifespans, while Sam was not.

Sam didn't know whether to feel better about that or not. Instead, he simply nodded, and didn't resist as Megatron pulled him closer until their frames were pushed together as close as they possibly could be. Their height difference, almost as pronounced as when Sam was still human. Even now, he barely even reached Megatron's spark chamber.

"Be mine," Megatron demanded.

"Yes." His throat clicked as he tried to swallow bile that wasn't there. “Always.”

Megatron growled. Held him for a moment longer, before he led him back inside. Not to the room he was in before. This one was furnished, lived in. With windows that allowed rays of sunshine to hit their frames as they moved on the bed. As their sparks collided. As Megatron left him with more than just a bond.

Sam felt strangely heavy compared to before, but all his systems gave him as feedback was the humming of the AllSpark. Happy, satisfied that it could create life once more. Even if it wasn’t in a way it had ever experienced. It almost made him feel better, that he wasn’t the only one who experienced something completely new. Though, he quickly got rid of the darker thoughts that circled around the fact that his first time had been taken by Megatron.

He didn't say anything, just curled more into Megatron's embrace. Into the caresses that hadn't stopped since they separated. He shyly met Megatron's gaze. He wondered how the mech saw him right now. What went through his processor now that he had claimed Sam fully, thoroughly.

A spark of electricity connected them as Megatron caressed his helm.

It lasted for not even a second.

Yet, it was enough to almost crash Sam's processor with the impressions gained.

First there was triumph. A successful conquest that none could rip from his grasp. A sweet victory that made all these years of being encased within ice at the mercy of these insects worth it. Sweetened even more by Sam’s red optics focused only on him.

Then there was possessiveness, almost obsessiveness in its nature, as he filed away the state he left Sam in. Small markings and scratches from sharp talons that had been surprisingly gentle. The chest plating that slowly, lazily settled back into its proper place after it had been opened for him. Sam's frame lethargic, only aware enough to respond to his touch by moving closer ever so slightly. The word mine echoed through him, knowing he was the only one who would ever see Sam like this.

Megatron could feel, even through their new bond, that the bond wasn't the only thing Sam's spark nourished. That there was something much more fragile, much more precious.

A fact that was connected with a feeling buried beneath everything else. A feeling he hadn't allowed himself to feel since he too was young.

Wonder.

Pure wonder.

See? He will take good care of you, Sam could almost hear the AllSpark say.

Sam's optics shuttered briefly, as a shiver ran through his frame.

It must've been quite the sight, for Megatron took it as encouragement to roll on top of him again. "I see I did not leave you as satisfied as I thought I did." He ran a servo over Sam's chest platings, encouraged them to open for him once more. Something Sam's frame was all too eager to do. "Don't worry," Megatron added as he slowly lowered himself onto Sam once more, his own chest plating shifting. "I will take good care of you."

And somehow... for the first time since those words first went through his processor, Sam believed them as Megatron and him became one once more.

The humming of the AllSpark never stopped.
