    Summary

    Every year, Vash returns to a certain place. Knives usually wants nothing to do with this little pilgrimage.
    It's been nearly 60 years since their climactic final battle, and Vash thinks its a sign of growth when this year, Knives follows him on the long trek up to the ruins of the old orphanage at Hopeland.

    It turns out that they both have plenty more to work through, despite having been on the run together for nearly another human life time. Vash wanders the graves of those he's loved, stopping finally at the first one he placed on this plateau with his own bare hands, standing in the shadow of the Punisher.

    Knives wonders again, for the last time he can stand-- why couldn't Vash have loved him that much?
