Rui and Tsukasa were in Rui's garage of the Kamishiro family's household, his parents being absent for the whole day as the purple haired said, and probably they don't have the intention to come to house the whole night too.
The purplenette and blond both were using the desk Rui cleaned up when Tsukasa came home with him, Rui drawing some blueprints for the new stage light he will be making, meanwhile Tsukasa also making sketches for the costumes he will sew.
The reason Tsukasa was here right now was because Saki went to Honami's house with Ichika and Shiho and his parents worked all night, making them sleep the whole day. Tsukasa didn't want to stay at home sulking in loneliness while making his sketches for the costumes, so when Rui sighed and said 'Man, I'm gonna be home alone again, I wish your parents allowed you to stay at our house today, Nene.' Tsukasa immediately perked in and said he can keep him company and it was decided.
But now it was starting to feel kinda weird. Both of them weren't used to seeing eachother be this silent and focus on something, it was extraordinary for them. Suddenly Rui sighed and leaned back on his chair, earning a glance from Tsukasa.
"I'm done... I think. No more creativity. My brain stopped working!" said Rui, rubbing his eyes.
Tsukasa tilted his head to the side a little. "I didn't know you were also in a lack of motivation, haha! It's nothing a Star can't handle! Thought if you want to stop, we can!"
Rui nodded, the tips of his lips going up a little. He got up and stretched himself, his bones making a few crack sounds as doing so. "I wish mommy and daddy were at home... I miss them already."
"Huh?"
"... What?"
Tsukasa smiled. "You still call your parents 'mommy and daddy' ?"
"U-uh! That's—!!" Rui's cheeks slightly got darker from the embarrassment.
Tsukasa laughed while closing his mouth with a hand, then also getting up. "Let's dance!"
Rui was taken aback by the sudden request, he will not refuse it but he was still caught off guard! "...Sure?"
"Sure! Come on, come on! I won't let you sulk more! Believe in the future Star!" Tsukasa puffed out his chest with his hands finding their places on his hips, smiling with determination. He held Rui's both hands and showed him how he should do the moves firstly, then stopped grabbing his hands and started to dance. "Come on!!"
Rui laughed and accompanied his silly dance. Then Tsukasa saw he was also dancing so he opened a song to go with the mood so it wouldn't feel too silly to dance without any music.
"Ah-ha-ha! I love dancing at nights!"
Rui giggled more to his enthusiasm. "You do?"
"Yeah! A lot! As the song says, I don't know a night without dancing~"
"Oh, wait, I actually have two castanets! We used to play with it when I and Nene were younger!" Rui looked through some things and found the castanets, giving a pair to Tsukasa, teaching him how to play them. Now they were both playing castanets while dancing like idiots.
They danced till both of them got really tired and sweaty, Rui being the first one to give up. He plopped himself down to his couch and took a deep breath. "I can't believe such a simple dance made me so tired, wow."
"It's because—" Tsukasa checked the time before continuing. "—we've been dancing for two hours! No wonder we are soaked in sweat."
Rui giggled and got up, rubbed his eyes harshly. "I'm really sleepy... We should take a bath and sleep, I think."
Tsukasa nodded and closed the music, stretched himself and held his bangs out of his forehead, huffing. "I request to go in first, I'll be quick!"
Rui nodded and got back up, yawning. "Okay, I'll lend you some clothes and a towel, you can use whatever you want in the baa..." He yawned again while talking. "...aathroom."
Tsukasa laughed and nodded before going to bathroom, leaving Rui with his thoughts.
Oh I miss him already... What have you done to me, Tsukasa? I can't remember myself being this pathetic before. What kind of spell did you put on me now? I can't you out of my head... I just want to hug you all my life! And I—
...What was that noise just now?
"This damned soap..."
Just as Tsukasa said that, the soap fell again and Tsukasa grumbled. He already finished taking a shower, right now he was trying to put the bar soap into it's place back because he accidentally hit his hand at it and that thing fell. But he's been loosing to a bar soap!!! He was furious. Just when he was about to grab it again, his feet slipped and he fell on his back, immediately holding his head.
"You... f— hnng.... cursed soap... ouch... My head, ow-ow-ow... It's like pulsating..."
He just laid there, waiting for his vision to be back to clear before standing up. He looked at the soap and started swearing curses to it, until he heard a few knocks on the door.
"Tsukasa...! Are you okay? Did you fall? Did you hit anywhere?"
"Uhh... Kinda, yes and yes."
"Should I come in? Can you get here on your own? I also brought the towel too, I can close my eyes and do as you say."
Tsukasa thought about it for a while but it was too embarrassing so he refused. "Don't worry, I got this. Give me the towel and wait for me in your room!" He opened the door a little and held out his hand, hiding his whole body behind the door.
Rui gave him the towel and took a few steps back, after that Tsukasa closed the door and Rui went back to his garage. Tsukasa went to Rui's room and wore the clothes he left there (much bigger than he expected, since Rui wears baggy clothes) before going out. He stepped inside the garage and waved his hand.
"Hi."
"Oh, I'm glad you're okay! Wait for me in my room and I'll take a quick shower and come back!"
"Okay!"
Tsukasa went back to Rui's room and sat on his bed, looking around at his room. At first, he didn't even know he had a room. It doesn't look like it's owned anymore though— since he has nearly everything he needs in the garage and even sleep there many times to times, his room was now some kind of guess room, he assumed?
He felt kinda dissapointed to not to be able to smell his scent when he wasn't there- wait huh?! Where did that thought come from just now? He didn't plan on smelling Rui's scent— or did he?
The blond rubbed the back of his head again, the place still hurting a little. He sighed and pulled the front of his (Rui's, actually, but still) t-shirt lightly and looked at his chest, his other hand going inside and rubbing lightly at his transition scars on his chest. He used multiple creams for it to heal completely and look normal but the best he was able to do was getting them a light shade and the pinkish look going away.
He was happy that his parents accepted him, when he wasn't a 'he' back then. He came out to his parents with the help of his dear sister and they were completely okay with it! They suggested the surgeon first even, because Tsukasa was wearing his binder around much more longer than he should, leaving him with chest pains from time to time. Once he accidentally fell asleep in it and woke up feeling like he nearly couldn't breathe at all and threw his binder out of his body, then rushed to his parents and cried to his mother's shoulder, saying his chest hurts a lot. He was only thirteen, middle school newly finished.
Then he got the surgery with his parents' acceptance. At first everything hurt a lot— he wasn't able to lie down on his chest and even sometimes when his clothes touched him lightly, he would whimper in pain, praying to God that his chest would heal faster.
He came back to his senses and realized he was thinking about his chest while still rubbing his thumb over the scars when Rui knocked on the door, asking if he can come in.
"Pff~ Of course you can! It's your room after all."
Rui came in with his hair being in a funny shape, the cause of it being the hairdryer blown at his hair randomly. Tsukasa giggled at him. Rui yawned, jumping on top of the bed and hugging his Perry the platypus plushie— oh. Tsukasa should've expected him to be a Phineas and Ferb fan. He laughed and looked at him expectantly.
"I thought you would at least help me set down a mattress, since I'm still a guest, you know?"
"Nu-uh. My bed is big enough. I am not gonna deal with a mattress."
Tsukasa laughed more at his childish voice tone and just laid down next to him, turning his back to him.
"Goodnight, Rui!"
"...Sweet dreams Tsukasa-kun."
Rui's mom looked at them with thin eyes, smiling mischievously as the sun lightened her face.
"Why are they hugging eachother in such a funny pose...! Ahaha!"
