I just wanted to hit him

Summary:

In the magical world there have been soulmates since Merlins time and before, the tricky part was finding them, seing as the only way to find them was, that you were trying to hurt them physically in some way. If soulmates tried to use violence of any kind on one another it simply didn't work, curses and hexes had no effect. Even spells that were meant to hurt the person didn't work. It didn't work with other kinds of violence either.
Soulmates, even though they were hard to find, were very cherished in the wizzarding world, for soulmate couples more often than not were having multiple magical childreen, which got rarer every generation in the wizzarding world. Soulmates also made each other more powerful, after a binding ceremony.

Chapter 1: Chapter 1: Confusion

Chapter Text

It was her third year when it happened. Hermione was furious. Not only was this year physically draining, because of her use of her time turner and attending every class available, but also, she had tried everything in order for the innocent Hippogriff not to get executed with all her research being for none, because the system was corrupt. Now she had to console her friend Hagrid, simply because awful little cockroaches like Malfoy, got their own will and had an innocent creature killed. She was on her way to Hagrid with Ron and Harry when she saw the mentioned cockroach, watching through some binoculars, no doubt watching the execution in person. She was infuriated. He only ticked her off even more with his stupid grin and words that blonde git. “Look who’s here” one of his goons said before the git decided to open his mouth himself, even though she already came at them at a fast pace.

“Ahh, come to see the show?” he asked grin on his face. How could he.

“You! You foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach.” Hermione basically ran at the git while saying these words and taking out her wand. Only for the git to express shock, stumble backwards against a big stone. Her wand was already boring in the boy’s neck. His face seemed to form a scared expression, at least that she was very capable of making him suffer. Hermione’s mind was already going over at least a dozen curses and hexes she could make him regret everything with, when Ron said from behind her: “Hermione, no. He’s not worth it.” She was angry and looked at the boys scared face in front of her for a moment. Ron was right of course. She could get in serious trouble for cursing another student. She was furious though. But was it worth hurting him if it might cost her to get expelled? No.

She lowered her wand slowly. The scared face returned to a grin and his whining stopped. She glared at him. How could someone do this? She was still angry but turned around when she heard laughter, oh no he didn’t. She swirled around back to Malfoy and raised her fist, with the intention of breaking his nose, she wanted to punch him hard and was about to, but her fast-paced punch was somehow stopped millimeters in front of his nose. Not because of her own decision, she tried to move her fist father into the gits face, but it was like something blocked her. “What the…?” she exclaimed. Had Malfoy or someone else cast a Protego or something? Malfoys scared expression changed to confused and then to horrified. He raised his wand and said “Stupor.”

The red beam of light hit Hermione in the chest, but nothing happened. The horrified expression on Malfoys face grew. He cursed something and then said, “Let’s go.” And he and his goons ran. Hermione was completely and utterly confused, but the horrified expression was also mirrored on Rons face when she turned around while Harry’s expression mirrored Hermione’s own, utter confusion.

The clock struck and Hermione snapped back into the moment, they really needed to get to Hagrid, whatever just happened with Malfoy could wait. “Let’s go, we need to get to Hagrid before it is to late.” “But…” started Ron. “Not now, whatever happened, we have things to do, let’s talk about whatever it was later.” With these words they left for Hagrid’s even though Ron gave her a few odd looks, that she did not understand at all.
