“I should have played sick…” You thought dejectedly as you adjusted your hat and scarf.
You should have known you would get wrapped up in something like this.
Your boyfriend, however, seemed to be enjoying himself very much. “We’re gonna beat all of you!” He shouted, standing with a foot on the head of the sled.
“Katsuki.” You placed a hand on his shoulder, pulling him back down.
He immediately shrugged your hand off and gave you a frown. “What? I was just letting them know what was about to happen.”
“I know, but as much as this is a competition, we’re here to have fun and I especially wanna have fun with you.” You gave his hand a pat. “So let’s try not to beat them too hard, okay? Oh, and switch me spots.”
He rolled his eyes, but ultimately gave in.
“Alright! I want a good and dirty fight.” Natsuko, a fellow classmate, began. “Not too many rules besides, Quirks are on the table and don’t kill anybody.” She reached behind her, pulling out a toy gun. “On your marks! Get set! Go!”
The moment the toy gun fired the bang flag they were off with Bakugou immediately using his quirk to propel you down the mountain side.
“You ready?” You shouted over the freezing winds’ song.
You felt Bakugou’s arms wrap around your waist. “Always.”
You smiled, activating your quirk. The take-off was a bit wobbly, but once you got adjusted to the weight, the two of you were cruising above the trees.
You giggled. “It’s like the reverse of that one movie.”
“Which one?”
“The one with the flying carpet.”
It was quiet for about a minute before his grip on you tightened.
“A whole new world” Your eyes bugged out of their sockets.
“A new fantastic point of view” Was this really your Katsuki?
“No one tell us, no, or where to go” He grabbed your chin, turning you to face him.
Even the look on his eyes was something foreign to your Katsuki. You didn’t know whether to smile or out right ask him what he was doing. However, this was the first time Bakugou did something so outwardly… romantic.
“Or say we’re only dreaming” So you instead decided to play into it.
“A whole new world” He pecked your nose.
“A dazzling place I never knew” Then your cheek.
“But when I’m up here, it’s crystal clear— They’re gonna beat us!” Your eyes had briefly flickered to the ground below, spotting a pair a few yards ahead of you. You frowned, shifting your focus and kicking it into high gear.
“Woah! I thought you said it didn’t matter!”
“Yeah, but I didn’t say I didn’t want to win!”
In the end, you and Bakugou won, of course.
And even got to finish your duet.
