After Ego allowed them to use their phones inside the Blue Lock facility—albeit only for an hour—Isagi started using his phone for the whole hour, texting nonstop to someone who definitely wasn’t his parents, whom he always called instead of texting.

"Ew. You were texting a guy?" Erik said, annoyed at Kaiser.
"What does it have to do with you, shithead?" Kaiser put his phone back in his pocket.
"Because Noa made us run ten more laps because you kept texting while he was scolding us," Erik said. "I would’ve understood if it was your girl, not just some dude—wait. Isn’t he Yoichi from Blue Lock?"
"It’s none of your fucking business," Kaiser kept walking.
"This whole time you’ve been texting him?!" Erik exclaimed. Then, as if something had finally clicked in his head, he said, "Oh, so you’re a thing?"
"That’s what I’m fucking trying," Kaiser thought, but didn’t say out loud.
