Work Text:
His whole life was planned, how he would dress, what food he would eat, how he would train, who he would be educated with and who he would marry.
Practically Hanzo's life was a list, which had to be followed to the letter, what a life; but everything would change when his father died and he was forced to kill his brother, he no longer had his life figured out, he no longer had to follow the demands of the elders.
But, on the other hand, he would leave what was his home and what he once called family.
He was a hunted nomad and the only way he could survive was by killing and stealing; until his soul was faced with a strong dilemma, to follow what is right or to continue to regret your past mistakes.
He joined Overwatch and tried to stay as far away from people as possible, that wouldn't last for long. A cowboy with bad taste in clothing started to approach him, they barely spoke, but over time Hanzo didn't realise that he was slowly opening up.
They got to know each other and in a couple of months they knew each other's history, their fears, their unforgivable sins, their fantasies, their favourite things. Absolutely, everything they were already training comrades.
Battle buddies, but in Hanzo a feeling arose that he had never experienced before, love, Kiriko told him, but how? And why?
He had a dilemma again, but this time it was Cassidy who made the first move when she kissed him at the Christmas party and confessed that she liked him and wanted to be his lover.
This led to Hanzo having a battle royale in his mind, he had never been in a relationship before, it would be his life was always planned to be led to the letter, but Genji brought him to his senses and he is now the one calling the shots in his life.
So he went straight to Cole, they talked for a long time, having to clarify everything and where Hanzo finally accepted his feelings and Cole's proposal where they kissed again, but this time as a promise that will never be broken.
So many difficulties, so many obstacles and yet they continued together and showed that their fight, love has no limits.
"Hanny, do I look old already?" he looked at himself in his bathroom mirror as he noticed a couple of grey hairs in his beard.
They wouldn't lie, they were already in their fifties, they weren't in the same physical condition, they had been through a lot and here they were a week after they were named commanders, at first Hanzo was completely reluctant, as he didn't feel worthy of the title, but as always Cole convinced him to take it and be proud of his effort.
It meant they now had more free time, but now they would be in charge of paperwork and mission planning for the field agents, but what more could they ask for, a wedding; well, that was a year ago.
"If Hanzo had to count the number of times Cole worried about his appearance because of his age, this would be the third time this week, but Hanzo knew how to deal with these situations.
"Come on, honey, I'm getting old," he thought dramatically, almost ten years of being lovers and almost a year of marriage, but Cole would never stop being exaggerated.
For this Hanzo hugged him around the waist to bestow a kiss on the back of his neck, he could see Cole's anguished face soften "Han, I think I'm getting rusty already".
"I'm supposed to be a year older than you and I'm not complaining."
"Please honey to me you'll always be my handsome dragon" she turned to stand face to face with her husband.
"And the same goes for you" with the palm of her hand she brushes her cowboy's cheek and their faces begin to meet "no matter how much time passes or how old we get, to me you will always be handsome" and with that said they kissed a new promise that can never be broken.
