Chapter Text
The sun beats down heavily on the grass field below, the grass is shaven down to a nice length where it isn't troublesome to move around in yet it also covers the dirt floor in a bed of grass. In any other situation, Leona would've taken a nap on it right now. The Savanaclaw dorm leader is currently in PE class for once after Ruggie had practically dragged him there due to the uniqueness of the lesson, a second and third-year joint lesson with all of the students in those years present. Leona wishes he could just walk away with the mass amount of students around as cover, but it's a graded lesson for the third years. He sighs in resignation as he spies the many familiar faces around him, while he stands comfortably on the ground, only on his broom when is Vargas yelling at him to, the others fly in the air casually. He spies Riddle, Silver, and Kalim above him to the side, fairly close to him, Kalim and Silver are in place in the air remaining still while Riddle is flying from side to side and addressing his classmates, about what? Leona doesn't care to know. He then looks to the right where the Octavinelle trio and Vargas are, Azul and Jade are barely five centimetres off the floor while Vargas stands in front of them telling the pair to push themselves, while Floyd is high in the sky cheering them on without a care in the world. A smirk arrives on Leona's face as he sees his fellow house warden's performance. He then spies Malleus and Lilia to the left of them, and his smirk leaves, Malleus seeming hasn't noticed Leona which Leona is glad about, otherwise the other would be directly in his face. That pair are currently in the sky and talking about something, again Leona really didn't care about what it is.
Boredom easily settles into Leona as he just stands there, just waiting until he's done the bare minimum before disappearing. He knows that after Vargas comes around once more, he can dip, and he knows a tree close by which will be the perfect place to catch some sleep. Though, out of nowhere, a feeling overcomes Leona, that something is wrong. He quickly scans the people on the ground seeing nothing wrong. But before he can identify the issue, a voice shouts.
"SILVER!" The shout came from above, which Leona quickly registers as Kalim's voice.
"Silver!" Another voice, more easily recognisable as Riddle shouts as well.
Leona looks up at them and sees what he, previously unknowingly, knew what was wrong and it is something he has never seen before. A student has fallen off their broom. Silver was plummeting to the ground from high above, he wasn't moving at all not even. He was asleep, his uncontrollable slumber has attacked once more. Leona quickly understands what has happened and quickly reacts, running to where Silver is falling to. Although Leona wasn't alone on the field, he knew that no one would've been able to save Silver in time, Riddle, Kalim, Malleus, Lilia and the others flying around are too far up and away, and even if they could reach him, maintaining control of their brooms and catching Silver would be nigh impossible. Many ideas on how to catch Silver arise, perhaps flying on his broom though the previously stated knowledge instantly shot that idea down, another would be to use magic to summon wind magic to slow down Silver, though the fact that they don't have their magic pens nor any mage stones, except Silver who always has it on his holster, would mean that blot would acuminate fast.
So there is one other way left when magic fails, strength, Leona stands underneath Silver, who is currently falling with his back to the ground which is beneficial to Leona. His arms come out and he still looks to where Silver is, his plan is obvious to everyone, from Kalim and Riddle who Leona can see are descending above him to Azul who has quickly noticed what has happened to Lilia who baring a shocked face that Leona has only seen once before. His plan is to physically catch Silver, it is going take all the strength he has, though he isn't the Savanaclaw House warden for nothing. He prepares his arms, legs, and shoulders while Silver falls closer and closer. Until he brushes past Leona's face, and Leona can feel the other's body in his arms.
He grips the other man hard and rough, digging his heels into the dirt and pushing the man into him. Leona can't stop the force immediately and travels with it while pushing against it, he bends his knees making sure not to let go of the other, they travel downwards with Leona bending his legs so that he is more in a squat pose. He holds on tight and can feel the overwhelming downwards force slowly leave and his own strength taking over, he quickly pushes against the force and can no longer feel the force surrounding Silver. A sigh escapes as he springs back up, still carrying the other bridal style, the whole ordeal of keeping Silver from plummeting to the ground felt like an hour to Leona though probably took less than a minute to everyone else.
Soft breathing can be heard from Silver and Leona looks at him, his face is devoid of emotion with his mouth open slightly as he breathes so calmly, completely unaware of the dangerous situation he was just in. His gaze falls all around the other's face, his eyelids are closed softly and are showcasing his long eyelashes, and his messy hair gravitates downwards though isn't as messy as one might think after falling a long way down. A smile quickly appears on Leona's face before it disappears almost instantly, and a more neutral expression masks it.
"Oi," Leona states as bluntly as ever.
"Nnn..." Silver murmurs as he slowly opens his eyes.
As soon as Silver's eyes open, he makes eye contact with Leona and just looks confused. Which when thinking about it must be really odd, one second you are flying on your broom with your classmates, and then the next second you're in the arms of the Savanaclaw house warden. After a few seconds of just looking at each other, Silver looks around, he looks up seeing Riddle and Kalim high above though descending quickly, Riddle has a spare broom in his hand. Silver quickly realises what's happened.
"I fell asleep again." Silver says along with a sigh, a disappointed expression marking his face.
"Dangerously so." Leona fires back.
"It's not like I meant it." Silver retorts, disappointment in himself and his uncontrollable sleep lace his words.
"I know." Leona states bluntly.
Silver's Eyes widen at what Leona says and looks back at him with a neutral expression. They look at each other as if finding a break in each other's neutral masks though their searches are stopped when Leona moves his shoulders.
"Do you mind getting off?" Leona states.
Now in Leona's case, it wasn't due to Silver being heavy. The younger man is fairly muscular, probably close to Leona himself in terms of muscles, though wasn't as jacked as... well Jack. It was a nice in-between in Leona's mind. The real reason why he wants to put Silver down is literally staring at him, his classmates. He can feel their beady little eyes all over him and Silver, from Riddle and Kalim who have been on the ground for the last few seconds to Lilia and Malleus who have been starting him down similarly to the Octavinelle trio. Though a new stare from Vargas can also be felt. Silver blinks at what Leona said before remembering the position the two are in.
"Ah, sorry." Silver says as he tries to put his feet down.
Leona moves his arm down so that Silver's feet can reach the ground, he stands up from there and Leona stands up normally. Silver faces Leona as if about to say something but Leona can see Kalim running to Silver before jumping on him, giving him a tight hug as well.
"SILVER!! I was so worried about you." Kalim says, tears in the corner of his eyes.
"I'm okay Kalim." Silver says giving his friend a soft smile as he looks at him from the corner of his eye.
"You're not hurt are you?" Riddle asks more composed than Kalim, probably more used to Silver's unpredictable sleeping patterns due to being in the same club but still shocked non the less.
"I'm not hurt, I'm glad Leona caught me in time." Another calm smile comes from Silver directed in Leona's direction, even though he is looking at Riddle. Though Leona still catches it.
Eyes still linger on Leona, though he can identify them mostly from his other dorm leaders, most were still walking or running towards the pair. Though one pair of eyes wasn't on him but on Silver. Leona finds the gaze belonging to Vargas.
"Silver." he says.
Everyone turns around to look at Vargas, including Kalim who is still hanging off of Silver.
"Yes coach?" Silver asks.
"That display was highly dangerous young man, I will need to talk about this with you after class."
"Sir-" Riddle tries to interject.
"Quiet Rosehearts, this type of display would never fly in the equestrian club would it? Especially not in competition. So this behaviour can't fly here. Especially not in this lesson. He should have alerted you two of his soon departure into sleepy land." Vargas says with a cross look on his face, Silver looks disappointed in himself
"Last time I checked, his condition is well known to staff as well as the fact that it is uncontrollable and unpredictable, Correct?" Leona says bursting into the conversation.
"Yes though-" Vargas says but is interrupted by Leona again.
"So it's not Silver's fault. You haven't prepared the class to suit him. Hey Riddle, your club has measures in place in case Silber falls asleep while on a horse, correct?" He addresses his other house warden.
"Yes, I and Sebek know how to handle many situations as and when Silver falls asleep, especially since he has stated previously that he doesn't realise he has fallen asleep until he has woken up."
"There we go, there are measures in place in the equestrian club. So why aren't there any in class?" Leona says not backing down and staring Vargas right in the eye.
A pair of eyes look to Leona, a feeling of deep appreciation nestles itself in Silver's chest as Leona says this. His mouth was slightly agape and his light eyes sparkled as Leona spoke. He was often told off in class for his condition, though he could never have the boldness Leona had, even though he remembers talking to each of the teachers separately about his condition.
"Silver!" A deep voice comes closer, and looking over in that direction reveals the voice to belong to Lilia. Who hugs Silver as tight as Kalim still is, the panic that shone before on Lilia has gone.
"Fa-Lilia." Silver says a soft smile comes to his face.
"You gave me a heart attack, which I don't need at this age. Are you okay? You're not hurt are you?" Lilia asks.
"I'm fine, done worry."
Malleus is now looking at Leona and he takes that as his chance to leave. With more people surrounding Silver, it was easier for him to leave, he could feel Vargas' eyes on him for his rebuttal and can foresee the other having a discussion about him next lesson, though they can't have that discussion if Leona doesn't turn up. He exits the general area that Silver was in and Vargas' gaze is stripped from him though he could feel another one look at him. It wasn't piercing nor gazing but soft, Leona looks back to see who's looking and spies Silver. The two look at each other but can't exactly look the other in the eye, a small smile shines on Silver's lips as Leona returns it with a smile that he doesn't show often. He turns around and walks to the tree he spied before this whole fiasco.

Hours have passed since the incident in PE, and almost everyone has heard about what happened. Sebek came to Silver and made sure he was okay before building his wall back up and states how they need to be on their top guard and that "Waka-sama" would never fall off his broom like that, which was normal for Sebek though Silver is glad that his close friend does worry about him, the rest of the first years that hover around Yuu eventually came to check on Silver, which was nice to see. Kalim and Riddle were around Silver for the rest of the day and made sure to keep him awake, although most of his impromptu naps were in a chair, they just wanted to make sure he was fine. There were also some people that Silver didn't expect to check in on him like Vil and Rook, they saw the event and were petrified at what happened, though Rook said something about Silver falling out of the sky so beautifully though Silver just chucked that up to Rook being Rook. Vil made sure he was fine medically speaking before telling Silver to brush his hair as it was an even bigger mess than it usually it.
Silver is glad to have such good friends to keep an eye out for him, Though currently, Silver isn't around any of his friends. After Leona had left the scene earlier on, it had occurred to Silver that he hadn't thanked Leona properly. Silver was raised to be nice and polite so he is going to thank Leona, even if it is akin to a wild goose chase to find his upperclassmen. After classes ended for the day Silver started his search for Leona, he couldn't earlier during break or lunch as he was guarding Malleus both times, though Lilia is going to be around the prince for the rest of the day which gives Silver some time to find the other house warden. The first person he asked about Leona's whereabouts was Ruggie, who, after making sure that Silver was okay after falling off his broom, said that he was also hunting down Leona as he had skipped final period, Silver doesn't worry if Leona was injured or skipped due to another reason as he knows how capable the man was, so Leona must have skipped of his own volition.
And thus began the runabout to find the Savanaclaw leader, Silver asked anyone who had any relation to the leader though most gave an "I don't know," which didn't help, though bumping into Rook surprisingly helped. He gave the first piece of key information, that he saw the Savanaclaw leader leave the main building and go to main street. This was thankfully the break he needed in his search as when Silver followed his footpath and went to main street where he met Epel and Jack, who said they saw Leona go to the general direction of Ramshackle, and when Silver arrived at Ramshackle, Yuu said that he hadn't seen Leona and though he may be at the Botanical Garden as he sleeps there often. Which is the place he is now standing before.
Silver sighs at the runabout he has just had and notes how long it took him to get there, though thankfully the hall of mirrors is fairly close by and will barely take ten minutes to get to so going back to Diasomnia will be thankfully less trouble.
Putting his hand on the door, Silver opens the doors to the botanical garden which hits him with a wave of warmth. Silver nearly fell asleep in the warm, but not hot, temperature though thankfully doesn't and remains awake though is starting to feel somewhat drowsy. Stepping into the garden the warmth is still present and tries to lull him into a state of sleepiness again, though he persists, he hopes he doesn't fall asleep though it would be a borderline miracle if he leaves the gardens without falling asleep once, though Silver has prepared himself something in case he falls asleep before meeting Leona, a note. Though it wasn't a hundred percent guarantee that it would get his message to the house warden, it could help a bit. Silver reaches into his pocket as he continues to walk and grabs the note, holding it in one hand and reading it over briefly before focusing back on finding Leona.
Shoes clack against the stone pathways below as Silver looks left and right looking for the dorm leader, the thick and plentiful bushes and plants cover the areas behind them which make it harder for Silver to search, he tries to peek through the trees but can't see Leona anywhere. A thought graces Silver's mind of Leona leaving already though he discards it, not wanting his search to be for naught. As he looks at the plants a sign can be seen reading "Subtropical Zone" which gives Silver pause, a warmer atmosphere can be felt even before entering the area which gives Silver the idea that Leona had gone here, the knowledge that Leona sleeps frequently is known by most including Silver so he knows of the other's sleeping practices, which also gives him an idea. That Leona is sleeping in the warmer subtropical zone, Silver has fallen asleep unknowingly in the area a few times before due to the hotter atmosphere.
Silver steps into the zone, the change in humidity and heat is felt instantly and Silver can feel himself getting hot in his uniform, wanting to take his blazer off, though he was one of Malleus' knights and needs to be ready for any climate his liege may go to. Silver scans the area as he walks up the path until it splits into two, one bending around and the other being an incline, Silver knows the incline ends in a dead end and chooses that area first. Shoes still clack on the pathway as he goes up and up until he can see the sole of a shoe facing him, as he continues going up he also sees a pair of trousers and an orange school vest on a torso. Silver now stands on the top of the incline and can clearly see that it's Leona but he's fast asleep on the ground. After staring at Leona for a second Silver leaves Leona to his piece, he doesn't want to wake Leona up as he can guess being a house warden and a prince can be stressful, though he plans on catching him when he leaves his resting place and the Botanical Garden as a whole. Silver puts his note in his blazer pocket.
Clicks and clacks of Silver's shoes can be heard descending the incline and after a few seconds Leona opens his eyes. He hadn't been fully asleep and was just resting his eyes though he was awoken by Silver's shoes coming into the subtropical zone, but after Leona saw the man from high above he just sat lying in wait to see what the other would do. Which was to leave him to sleep, which is appreciated by Leona. Leona stops lying on his stomach and pulls himself onto his arms, but not getting up just to see better as he observes Silver strolling around the Botanical Garden, obviously waiting for Leona to wake up to talk about what happened earlier. Silver hair bobs up and down as it strolls down the path under the incline with Leona's gaze stuck on it as a small smile appears on his face.
To say that Leona was friends with Silver was incorrect, as Leona didn't really have friends and people were more on a scale from Malleus Draconia (derogatory) to Tolerable, the Malleus Draconia (derogatory) side include people who are obnoxious and people who Leona couldn't stand being around which has Malleus to no one's surprise and Sebek, due to how he can't talk a sentence without mentioning about his "Waka-Sama", then it was people he could stand but for a limited amount of time like Azul and Vil, then people who he could stand for more time but they could easily get on Leona's nerve like the Prefect and Riddle. Which finally leads to the tolerable tier, which really only has one person in, Silver. Leona couldn't really find any faults with the man, he was laid back enough which makes it easy for Leona to be around him though he also knows when to take things seriously, he's composed and placid and not over the top and can show sincerity when applicable. Silver is also a part of Diasomnia and one of Malleus' bodyguards, but he doesn't fawn over his ruler only bringing him up when necessary, and talks about him much more like an older brother than an idol or god like Sebek does.
Though to say that Silver and Leona don't talk much is an understatement, though when they do Leona does enjoy the other's company as short-lived as it usually is. One of the reasons for this is that Silver doesn't have a plan hidden up his sleeve unlike most other people at NRC, specifically most of the dorm leaders, he's as easy to read as a book, which just shows him being good-natured. Though Leona initially didn't have this relationship with Silver, as when he first met him Leona thought the man was too clueless and easygoing, though after some more interactions, he could see that side in a bit more charming light.
Leona's eyes still trails Silver as he roams, he sees some birds actually come up to Silver and chirp around him, Silver talks to and they quieten down a bit, he carries on walking with his bird companions until he stops and looks at a bush, bending down to look at it. The bush has small fruits that are mainly used in a wakening potion, it is a difficult potion to make due to one of the ingredients being hard to find, though Leona heard that Silver and Kalim actually did make it not too long again, and Silver did drink it, only to fall asleep thirty minutes later. Leona didn't know what was wrong with Silver nor did the man himself, and that was his current drive in life, as well as being a knight, which Leona can commend him for.
After looking at Silver for longer than most, Leona decides to get up and greet Silver, he had made his way to see him and the conversation was probably going to be quick. He stands and starts walking down the incline with his sandals sounding off against the stone pathway. He knows where Silver is and how to get there so he lets his body go almost on autopilot as his mind just wondered. He thought mainly about where he was going to go after this as Ruggie is probably on the hunt for him as well and would be arriving in an hour at most, after some contemplation, he just decides to resign himself to go to his dorm and just relax there.
Silver hair appears in Leona's vision as he walks closer to where he last saw Silver, as he walks closer he can see that Silver hasn't moved from where he last saw him and a smile appears on Leona's face as he gets closer, Silver is kneeling at the bush and just holds a berry from the bush between his fingers as he keeps his slowly drooping eyes open. He is going to fall asleep, that much is obvious, though if he does fall asleep he will faceplant into the bush in front of him, which wouldn't be a nice place to sleep.
"Hey." Leona says as he approaches closer to Silver, who wakes up and turns his right to see Leona.
"Ah Leona." He stands up, the birds still on him, one on his head and the other on his shoulder.
"I'm guessing you're looking for me."
"Ah yes, I wanted to thank you for catching me earlier."
"It's no issue, anyone no matter who they are would catch someone falling off their broom."
"I know but... I also want to thank you for what you said to Coach Vargas."
"It's nothing, they should know about your condition and prepare for the worse circumstances." Leona had a thought of what would've happened to Silver if he didn't make it there in time or if was flying on his broom. he quickly distinguished the thought.
"I...I did tell them last year before school started and told them about my condition though seeing as it isn't medically diagnosed they probably just waved it off as a student trying to get away with sleeping in class." Silver looks a bit downtrodden as he said the last part.
It is noticeable to Leona that Silver's eyes are still drooping and his eyelids have gotten heavier, even if Silver doesn't want to be asleep, his body is going to force him to. Leona thought it odd how much he cares a lot about the other, he keeps an eye out as if he was a member of Savanaclaw, which he obviously wasn't. A yawn comes from Leona which Silver repeats back. The house warden decides to see how Silver reacts to something.
"Well if that's all I'm off back to sleep, feel free to join as it looks like you're about to fall asleep." Leona said with a smirk aimed at Silver.
"Only if you don't mind." He said still placid in his expression though surprise can be found in his voice.
"I wouldn't be offering if I minded. " He said as he pushed off his foot and started walking back, after a second of deliberation, Silver follows after.
The clacks of Silver's shoes and the sound of Leona's sandals can be heard as they walk to their destination though with the greenhouse empty aside for the two the sound is only for their ears. Though the sound soon becomes deafening to Leona and decides to spark up a conversation.
"The botanical garden is a wonderful place for a nap, I'm guessing you've accidentally slept here before?" Leona asks, Silver's condition still laced his mind for a reason he can fathom but doesn't want to believe in.
"It is nice, it's a good place to sleep that won't cause a cold. The atmosphere is warm and nice to have a small nap in. Though I've only slept here unintentionally." Silver answers as the birds around him chirp.
Leona looks behind him to see Silver with a bird on one of his fingers as it looks at Silver, giving him a pleased chirp as it leaves with the other bird. The Aurora eyes watch the birds fly away but miss the emerald eyes looking at them. As soon as they get to the top of the incline Leona walks forward before turning around to face Silver, only to lie down that way, with his hands holding his head and his legs crossed, his eyes close soon after.
"Feel free to sit you don't need my permission." Leona says before he falls asleep.
Silver looks at how fast the man sleeps and is in awe at how Leona can control his sleep, he ponders about asking the other about his techniques. Silver sits down next to the house warden as he wants to think about a few things. Silver looks over to Leona as he wonders about how he feels about the house warden, Silver thinks he's on good terms with the house warden, they had a nice conversation just before now and Leona doesn't treat him with the same air he does with Sebek. The knight admires his boldness, being able to speak his mind about whatever topic he believes in, it is something Silver can stand by and hopes that he can do similarly if pressed. He also likes his...
He tries to keep his train of thought but his mind keeps on getting fuzzier...
He keeps on having to pry his eyes open...
Until...
He falls asleep.

"Nnnh..." came from Leona.
He wasn't fully awake though he could feel something on his stomach, he opens one eye as he looks to see what is there and is greeted with silver hair. It takes Leona a second before realising that Silver's head is on his stomach, from Leona's view he can see Silver's back so he puts two and two together that Silver had been sitting up straight before falling asleep and his body weight was on Leona's side. Leona knew it wasn't intentional as Silver wouldn't be as bold as to just sleep on someone intentionally. Leona doesn't move him off, he isn't heavy as it is just his head, so he just lets him stay there. He wouldn't do this with anyone else except for probably Checka, and Leona doesn't know how to feel about that.
His eyes almost close, ready to go back to sleep, but he spots something white on the floor. It is rectangular and is made out of paper, Leona can barely see it under Silver's neck, he comes to the conclusion that it fell out of his blazer pocket when he fell asleep. Now that Leona thought about it, he does remember the sound of paper being put in a pocket back when Leona first met Silver in the Botanical garden and he remembers seeing it in the other's breast pocket as they walked around the garden. He removes a hand from his head and puts it under the other's neck, he is curious about the paper and wants to read it, he can always put it back if it is boring. He touches it and retracts his hand, making sure not to touch Silver. He thankfully doesn't touch Silver and brings the paper to his face, it is plain white paper folded into quarters, Leona moves his other hand as he opens the paper to see writing. It's a handwritten letter in nice handwriting, from Silver presumedly. Green eyes read the first line.
'Salutations Leona'
Leona's eyes widen in surprise at seeing his own name, he doesn't know why Silver wrote him a note though he chooses to keep on reading it.
'If you're reading this then I've probably fallen asleep before I've gotten to talk to you. If so I apologize. Anyway, I want to thank you for saving me from falling off my broom, I don't know what would've happened if you weren't there and I mean this as sincerely as I can. Thank you. I also want to thank you for standing up for me against Coach Vargas. It really brightened my day to see someone understand my condition. If there's anything I can do in exchange for what you've done, please let me know. That's all I have to say, have a nice day.
'Regards'
'𝒮𝒾𝓁𝓋𝑒𝓇'
A flush appears on Leona's face as he reads Silver's name on the letter. Really the letter was a repeat of what Silver had said earlier but when written out it sounds different. Leona has to come clean with himself, knows how he views Silver even if he doesn't want to admit it, he likes him much more than just a classmate or how he sees those in Savanaclaw nor would friends be the right word, for someone who instantly puts a smile on your face when you see them. No, he's heard his brother go on and on about how he feels about his wife and this is that feeling, that feeling of love. Leona Kingscholar is in love with Silver. He has to face the facts, he can't hide from it, and he has admitted it, but internally, he knows he's never going to say it out loud, that he has a crush. He breaths in and out and feels better, his thoughts are much more clearer now that he's admitted it to himself. He does feel better about it.
"...mmmm...." Silver mumbles, Leona checks that he is still asleep and thankfully he is.
Leona sighs as he still holds the letter as his eyes trace the line 'If there's anything I can do in exchange for what you've done, please let me know.', Silver shouldn't have given him that power though Leona knows he won't abuse it, there was trust from Silver to himself that he dosn't want to break. He folds the letter in his hands and with the hand he used to pull the letter, he puts it in his trouser pocket, should he have given it back to Silver? Maybe. But Leona feels attached to the note, perhaps it is because it holds Silver's feelings or that it made Leona come to terms with his feelings, probably both. He was going to keep it, and Silver probably won't notice it being gone.
A yawn comes from Leona as he gets ready to go back asleep though he looks at Silver's hair again, he looks at how nice it is. He's heard Vil talk many a time about how naturally beautiful Silver's hair is, from its unique colour to how naturally soft it is, which usually Leona would ignore though the last few times his peer dorm leader has mentioned it he has listened. Leona lifts his hand that grabbed the note prior and places it on Silver's hair. This is going past the boundaries of friends and people you tolerate, but Leona doesn't care, even if someone saw them, they wouldn't dare tell people what they saw and if they did, no one would believe them.
Another yawn comes from Leona and he closes his eyes, he thumbs a piece of Silver's hair as he lets himself be taken by sleep. To which the first thing he remembers seeing in said dream is an aurora sky.

"Man where is Leona" Ruggie says as he looks around the subtropical zone of the Botanical Garden.
He has been looking for Leona for nearly an hour and a half now, and still has nothing, he had started looking just before Silver had asked him if he had seen Leona and has been searching since then, he roamed around the main building checking all the classrooms until he bumped into Rook who told him where he last saw Leona and that Silver was also looking for him and followed a tail of people who saw Silver go to Leona. Ruggie was there at PE when Silver fell off his broom and was caught by Leona, he was as surprised as the next person at what happened, he just watched from far away as he really didn't talk to Silver much though he did check in with him later just to make sure the other was okay. Ruggie was and still is surprised at Leona in particular, if Ruggie fell off his broom and Leona caught him, he would be dropped as soon as Ruggie was seen as okay, though Leona just kept on holding onto SIlver until Silver got off with Leona telling him to.
'Perhaps Leona likes a certain someone.' Ruggie thinks jokingly as he lets out a little chuckle.
Ruggie would say that he knew a lot about Leona, from what type of food he likes to how he sees his fellow classmates to having a feeling as when Leona has skipped a lesson. He knew a lot, though he couldn't get the full picture on one thing, how Leona sees Silver. When they first met Leona was infuriated by his easy-going nature but in the last few months, that has changed and Ruggie could only guess that Leona sees him more of a friend, even though they don't talk much. Though the face of concern, that even Leona may not have clocked on that he showed, was one more reserved for someone special, like a family member. Perhaps it was a crush, Ruggie didn't care who Leona loved, but he did care if he could get paid for doing something for it, like a messenger for love letters.
Ruggie walks to the section of the subtropical zone where it spits and goes left and right, left being an incline that, Ruggie knows, goes to a dead end that Leona fancies as a sleeping spot. Ruggie walks up the incline with his trainers not really making a sound against the stone pathway. He inches closer and closer to the top seeing something silver with the sunlight bouncing off it, he wonders what it is and quickens his steps, only to be confused at the sight in front of him. The silver hair belongs to Silver who was asleep with his head on Leona's stomach, with Leona sleeping as well with his hand in Silver's hair.
'Yeah there's no perhaps, Leona definitely likes a certain someone." Ruggie thinks, seeing this and comparing it to Leona's normal behaviour around him and the rest of the dorm.
Ruggie stares at the two and contemplates blackmail, though just as he touches the phone in his pocket Leona's piercing eyes open and stare at Ruggie, who flinches not thinking Leona would have been awake. They stare at each other, Leona takes his hand off Silver's head while still maintaining eye contact, which is mildly intimidating.
"Should I ask?" Ruggie asks to which Leona just glares at him.
"nnn?" Came from the now awake Silver.
Slowly, Silver opens his eyes, confused at seeing Ruggie and taking a second to realise the body his head was lying on, he sits up almost immediately lightly blushes and looks to Leona.
"I'm sorry Leona, that was unintentional." Silver says looking sorry.
"Though I did invite you to sleep next to me, I didn't say to sleep on me." Leona said with a bit more bite than he would usually address Silver with, perhaps with someone watching him he wants to disguise his feelings.
"Again I'm sorry, I'll keep an eye on where I'm sleeping next time. Maybe next time I'll get less of an earful from Sebek for sleeping on Fath- er -Lilia." Silver says the latter part quieter, though he soon returns to his normal volume.
"Leona, if there's any way I could make up for this, please let me know." Silver says with his usual Placid expression.
"You were just sleeping on him, it ain't a big thing." Ruggie states.
"I was sleeping on a prince of a nation, that was unprofessional of me. Though if that's not enough, Leona saved me after falling off my broom and from faceplanting into a bush earlier." Silver explains.
Leona muses Silver's proposal, and the similar line from Silver's letter returns to his mind. With the proposal, Silver and Ruggie are probably thinking of getting lunch or something similar, though Leona has other things in mind. Leona can't talk with Silver much, due to being in different dorms, as well as being dorm rivals in Spelldrive as well, and on the surface not having much in common, though they mesh better in practice. Thoughts and ideas roam Leona's mind on how he can invite Silver, though the odd checkered pattern of the botanical garden paths give him an idea.
"Hey Silver, have you ever played chess?" Leona asks, but more states as he looks at the man who gives a confused look to him.
"Yes, I've played with my old man many times before." Silver says, crossing his arms as he looks down at Leona, who is still lying on the floor.
"Well I'll message you later a time and place and we'll have a game." Leona says as he stands up, his hands in his pockets and he feels Silver's letter.
"I look forward to it." Silver says with a small smile, Leona returns with a smirk.
Leona leaves first, moving past Silver and past Ruggie, the latter quickly starts following him. Ruggie looks at Leona with conflict in his eyes, earlier today he had a mostly empty picture of how Leona sees Silver, but now Ruggie would now say that he has a more put together picture. Leona likes Silver, a bit more than just friends, though Ruggie knows that the dorm leader would never say it out loud, and Ruggie was fine with that, being in a lovey-dovey soap opera wasn't really his thing. He couldn't image Leona going to anyone to love advice, which is something that Ruggie was happy for. Though Ruggie can totally tease Leona about his little crush.
"So...did I just see the future prince of the Sunset Savana?" Ruggie says as he laughs soon after saying it.
A side eye from Leona is all that greets him and he laughs some more as they leave the Subtropical zone in silence. Silver is still at the slope as he has only just realised that he has lost his letter for Leona, he had put his hand on his chest pocket only to feel the lack of paper, so he starts looking up, down, left, and right for the letter, which would usually stand out against the natural plants and hedges. It wasn't important for Silver as it has his general thoughts on it but he worries for Leona's sake as he has heard how some rumours travel fast around NRC.
After a few more minutes of looking, now by the bush he almost slept in, he still can't find it. Silver sighs as it seems to have vanished, he spies the birds from before coming back to him, they chirp peacefully which calms Silver's nerves. They generally react in tandem to how Silver's feeling, though if they are more calm about a situation whilst Silver is panicking, it usually means that the situation will be fine. He holds one on his finger and smiles at it, his legs start moving towards the exit, 'If the birds are fine, then it will be.' Silver thinks. Clicks and Clacks made their way to the exit of the Botanical Garden, with a parade of chirps being the only other sound that could be heard.
