Work Text:
Everything is going great in the Geto-Gojo household. The kids have really settled down now and are going to school. Satoru and Suguru are done with jujutsu work by the time school lets out, and Satoru takes Megumi to Jujutsu Tech for training. Suguru and Tsumiki go wherever their hearts desire, which is usually Shoko’s office. The doctor adores their kids and has stocked up more lollipops for them.
(She had a small jar only for Gojo, but now it’s bigger.)
In other great news, they moved into a bigger place. It’s still staff housing, right on the edge of Tengen’s barrier. It’s a two story house with four rooms. They’ve been living in it for about three months now, but the kids sometimes find their way into each other’s room, or their parents’. Satoru and Suguru don’t mind, of course, they always have cuddles and kisses at the ready for their babies.
Today, Suguru has a big mission. He’s going to be gone for only a day, but he really doesn’t want to leave his family. He’s been sitting in the company car, just staring at their house longingly. He misses his babies already, even Satoru, his big baby.
“ Ahem. Are you, um, ready, Geto?” The driver, Ichiji, asks nervously. Suguru doesn’t know why he’s always so nervous around him. Gojo, he understands, but Suguru?
Suguru sighs. Maybe this will be a fast mission, and he’ll be able to come home sooner. “Yeah, I guess so. The curses won’t exorcize themselves, huh?”
He tries to joke, but gets a forced chuckle out of Ichiji.
“Say, Ichiji,”
“Yes?”
“You can relax around me, you know. I’m not gonna bite your head off, unlike Satoru.” He smiles softly at Ichiji through the rear view mirror. The driver’s shoulders relax somewhat.
“I’m sorry, Geto. I didn’t mean to correlate you with Gojo.”
“Don’t worry about it. For starters, call me Suguru.”
Ichiji smiles genuinely. “Okay, Suguru.”

Suguru pants heavily as the last guy falls face first to the dirty ground. He wipes his bloody nose, and spits out some as well. These guys were tough, but as Satoru says, they’re the strongest.
His mission involved absorbing a special grade curse that had been terrorizing this small village for a few months now. The villagers were sorcerers themselves, though low rank. They were somehow keeping it at bay, at least that’s what the chief told Suguru.
Come to find out, they lied. Of course they did. The chief conjured up the curse himself to terrorize his people into worshiping him. What made it worse, is that Suguru had found two small children— twin girls— locked in a cage. They were the only children in the village. He found them when the curse blasted him into a broken down house.
The girls were dirty, and beaten as they hugged each other so close. Suguru was scared to separate them when he finally saved them. Before that, he absorbed the special grade (which tasted like shit and vomit), then beat the entire village senseless. He didn’t kill them, no matter how much he wanted to. How could a group of sorcerers do this to their own kind?
Either way, he’s just glad that the girls trusted him enough to take them somewhere safe. Now, they’re seated in the back seat of the car on their way back to the school. Ichiji kept looking at them through the mirror every so often, but Suguru’s gaze never left the girls.
After awhile he quietly asks, “Why?”
The one with lighter hair looks up at him. “… They were scared.”
Of us , goes unsaid but Suguru understands. Though they were sorcerers themselves, they fear anyone stronger than them. Afraid that they won’t be in control anymore. So that’s why the chief released that curse. To kill the girls.
It makes Geto sick to his stomach.
They arrive at the school, and go straight to Yaga. The principal is surprised by the girls, but they discuss in detail what happens next.
Of course they go home with Suguru.
During the discussion, he learned their names. The one with lighter hair is named Nanako, and the one with darker hair is Mimiko. Their family name is Hasaba. Yaga said he would contact Suguru in the following days for any information on their parents or other family members.
They finally arrive at the house, and noise can be heard from inside. There’s music and laughter, and Geto already knows what’s happening. They’re playing red light, green light. Satoru suggested this when they started teaching Megumi how to conceal his cursed energy. When the ‘light is green’ Megumi has to conceal his presence, and when it’s ‘red’ he can undo it. He can do it pretty well, but he needs to be faster with it. So, instead of using an actual red and green light, they use fast paced music. They turn it off and on in quick intervals for Megumi.
Also, it’s just a fun game for Tsumiki so she doesn’t feel left out.
Suguru turns to look at the girls, then squats down to their level, “Okay, I know meeting new people is scary, but this is my family. They’re very nice, I promise. My boyfriend Satoru is a silly goose, my daughter Tsumiki is the sweetest person ever, and my son Megumi is so brave! And if you can’t tell, we like to have fun. We play lots of games, and we have a lot of toys to share. Are you guys ready?”
Nanako and Mimiko look at each other for a long while. Geto briefly wondered if the conspiracy about twins having telepathy is real. He’s pulled from his thoughts by Nanako. Geto is learning that she seems to be the talkative one.
“Mimiko doesn’t like loud noises.”
As if on cue, a scream could be heard from inside, followed by roars of laughter. Suguru feels his heart swell with joy. He loves his family so much.
Suguru looks back at the house, then to the girls, “It is pretty loud in there, hm? I’ll go tell them to quiet down, okay? Wait here, I promise I’ll be back.”
He stands up and conjures up a small curse. It’s one of his cuter ones, but it’s still strong enough to protect the girls. They are protected by Tengen’s barrier, but he wants them to feel extra safe.
“Don’t be afraid; she’ll protect you while I’m inside.” Suguru explains with a small smile.
The small curse kind of looks like a dog, except it has only three legs and a long, slithery tail. It rubs its nose against Nanako first, sniffs, then does the same to Mimiko. It turns to Geto and lets out a tiny yip!
With that, Suguru unlocks the door.
Once inside, he follows the sound of music into the living room. He sees that the furniture is pushed up against the walls, and their tv is blaring some pop song. He also sees that his silly goose of a boyfriend is on the floor, their kids on top of him trying to tickle him.
Suguru rolls his eyes fondly.
He finds the remote on the couch, and pauses the music. Three heads whip around to see who interrupted their fun.
“Papa!” Tsumiki and Megumi shout in unison. They climb off their dad, and run to him.
Suguru kneels down to pull them both into his arms. He kisses each of their heads, “Oh, my babies, how I’ve missed you! I’m home now, Papa is home.”
“We missed you, too papa!” Tsumiki says, smiling brightly.
“Dad cried as soon as you left.” Megumi deadpanned. This gets a laugh out of Suguru.
Gojo, who’s sitting up now, acts offended. “I did not! You little liar! There was just— dust! I got dust in my eye!”
“Papa cleaned before leaving!” Tsumiki says.
“He cried like a baby.” Megumi says, burrowing further into Suguru’s warm embrace.
Satoru glares at their kids, “I can’t believe my own kids would rat me out like this!”
Suguru chuckles and looks between Satoru and the kids. He thinks the girls would fit in just right.
“So, I have a surprise for you all,” The kids gasp in excitement as Satoru comes closer to them. He scoops Megumi into his arms, settling him into his lap. “It kind of just happened, so please be kind. Can you guys do that for me? Be kind and gentle.”
The kids can tell when their parents are being serious, and this is one of those times. So, they both nod and Suguru smiles, then kisses their cheeks. He looks at Satoru, who is looking back confused and concerned.
“What’s going on, baby?” Gojo asks.
Suguru sighs. “It’s happening again, Toru. Here,” He sets Tsumiki into Gojo’s lap as well. They’re both a little too tall for lap sitting, but Satoru and Suguru will be damned if they can’t hold their babies like this.
“What— Suguru!” Gojo can’t get another word out as Suguru walks towards the main entrance. He makes the kids stand, so he could get up as well. He grabs each of their small hands, and feels Megumi squeeze tightly.
He’s about to ask why when he feels it.
Suguru’s cursed energy is there, but there are two unknown ones. They’re strong . Megumi backs away and hides behind one of his dad’s long legs.
“It’s okay, Gumi. You’re okay.” Gojo says while petting Megumi’s hair.
When Suguru rounds the corner, Gojo isn’t expecting two little girls to be hanging off each hand. He looks between them— first the light haired one, then the dark haired one.
They’re twins.
Suguru looks nervous, and he sounds nervous when he talks, “Guys, I want you to meet Nanako, and Mimiko,” He gestures to each of them. “Girls, this is my family I was telling you about. That’s my daughter Tsumiki, her little brother Megumi, and my boyfriend Gojo.”
Satoru clearly sees the state of them. They had no one taking care of them. They were covered in dirt, soot, and bruises. They look a little younger than Megumi as well. His heart hurts for them.
So, he musters up his best smile, and squats down. Tall strangers are no fun to talk to. “Hiya, girls! It’s so cool to meet you!” Gojo greets them in an upbeat but gentle tone. He’s sure this is a scary time for them.
“I’m Satoru Gojo, but you can just call me Satoru. Or Toru, if that’s easier.” Satoru slowly holds up his hand to them.
The girls stare at it.
Suguru, nor Satoru and the kids, rush them.
Nanako slowly lifts her small hand. There’s so much dirt caked under her nails that Gojo nearly cries. She places her hand into his, and Gojo gives her a gentle handshake, his friendly smile never ending. He lets go, and watches as Nanako nods at Mimiko. The dark haired girl does the same.
“Okay, kids, come say hi. Remember your manners.” Suguru says.
Tsumiki and Megumi come from behind their dad. They had been watching closely how their parents interacted with the two girls, and gauged how serious the situation was.
Tsumiki knows she can do it. Her parents tell her all the time how sweet she is! And these two girls look nice! Tsumiki has never had a problem meeting new people. Well, not that she met very many… But that’s beside the point!
Tsumiki waves at Nanako and Mimiko. “Hi, nice to meet you! I’m Tsumiki Fushiguro, and this is my baby brother Megumi. Welcome to our home!”
Suguru smiles, knowing Tsumiki would definitely make the girls feel welcome. She’s the cutest, and sweetest person Suguru has ever had the chance to meet. He’s so happy she’s his daughter.
“Hello. Welcome to our home. Are you hungry? Dad bought pizza, so there’s plenty for all of us. We even got the kind with onion on it because papa likes that one.”
No one was expecting little Megumi Fushiguro to talk that much.
After the initial shock, Suguru laughs. Mindful of Mimiko’s sensitive ears, he laughs a lot. Satoru looks at him like he’s crazy but is chuckling to himself. Tsumiki only smiles and giggles lightly. Megumi looks confused.
“What’s so funny? You guys told me to offer food to guests!” Megumi pouts.
Suguru is quick to placate him with a ruffle to his spiky hair. “You’re such a good boy Megumi. You did a good job, don’t worry. Thank you for being so kind.”
Suguru then addresses the girls. “Okay, girls. Are you guys okay?”
They both nod.
“…Do we get pizza?” Nanako asks in a small voice like she’s scared. Suguru wants to give her everything she deserves and more.
“Yes, of course! How about this? We get you guys in the bath first, and then we can eat pizza. Sound good?” Geto asks.
Nanako’s eyes widen and shine a bit. Mimiko’s expression has changed slightly, but Geto can see the excitement.
“Yes, please. The people in the village told us we couldn’t take a bath.” Nanako explains.
Suguru’s heart breaks, but his anger flares up at the mention of those mon— people. He sees Satoru’s shocked face from the corner of his eye. He ignores his boyfriend for now.
“Well, you’ll be living with us from now on. You can have as many baths as you’d like, I promise. Please don’t hesitate to ask for anything, okay? We want to help you.” Suguru says, holding back the urge to pull the girls into his arms and never letting go.
Satoru seems to have snapped out of it because he adds in, “Yeah, what Suguru said. Our home is now your home, too. Everything in this house is now yours.”
And for the first time since Suguru released them from that rusty cage, they cried. They cried loud, and hard. Suguru immediately opens his arms and the girls waste no time. He holds them close as they sob, and even lets a few tears slip. He then begins to stand, picking the girls up in the process.
He looks up at Gojo, and the white haired male understands.
“Okay, Gumi, Miki. Let’s fix the couches, and clean up a little.” Satoru instructs the other two. Suguru mouths a grateful thank you as he makes his way upstairs. The sobbing gets quieter until it’s barely heard behind closed doors.
Gojo takes a deep breath. They have four kids now. It’s not a big deal, right? Taking them in by twos. Gojo takes another deep breath, using the methods Geto taught him when he’s feeling overwhelmed.
Yeah, not a big deal.
_________________________
Turns out, it is a big deal.
The twins have been here a week, and it’s been good. The girls are very sweet, and excited to try new things, or do something they haven’t in a long time. Once Suguru explained the situation, and what he discussed with Yaga, it was clear to Gojo that they’d be keeping the girls for a while. Gojo doesn’t like how they’ve been treated, especially by fellow sorcerers. Nanako and Mimiko’s cursed energy is strong. He can tell they’ll be amazing sorcerers, and he can’t wait to train them.
The kids got along well, too. They played together nicely, and Tsumiki and Megumi were more than happy to show them all the games they like to play. Tsumiki shared her hair clips and hair ties with them. She even showed them how to brush their own hair. Megumi, who doesn’t speak much, yet is always so blunt, makes the girls laugh a lot. He’s not even trying to be funny, he’s just saying things (more like embarrassing Gojo) to make them comfortable. The girls even tease Gojo a little themselves.
Nanako and Mimiko are so, so cute and sweet. They really are. The only problem is that they don’t sleep. They’re like a newborn baby; they cry, and cry throughout the night. Suguru and Satoru have no clue why the girls won’t say anything. They just assume the girls are still scared, still traumatized. Which is understandable. They went through something a child never should. So, the crying makes sense.
But the fact that it happens three times a night?
That doesn’t make sense.
The kids’ bedtime is nine, no later than nine-fifteen if something happens. The girls have woken up crying around midnight, then again around three a.m, and around five a.m. It’s been different each night, so that’s just an average.
They usually seek Suguru out for help, and that gives Satoru the opportunity to check on Megumi and Tsumiki. The kids usually wake up a little grumpy, but this week it’s worse. Gojo has started sleeping in the living room with them to get away from the noise. Their couch has a pull out bed, so the three of them sleep on it. Suguru doesn’t mean to put his family out, and he’s apologized profusely, but Gojo tells him not to worry about it. He still feels incredibly guilty and terrible, though.
He’s a bad dad.
It’s currently four in the morning, and the girls just fell asleep. He has one on each side as he gently cards his fingers through their hair. Suguru watches them like a hawk for any signs of discomfort or distress. Nothing so far.
He relaxes, but not too much. He hasn’t really been able to relax for days. He’s exhausted and he knows the others are, too. He didn’t think it would last this long. Geto feels like crying thinking about it. He feels like crying because he can’t help getting rid of the nightmares. Feels like crying because he knows his family is tired, and it’s his fault. He feels like crying because he’s so exhausted.
But he can’t.
He blinks back tears as they well up. He can’t cry, not now. Nanako and Mimiko need him to be strong for them. They can’t do it alone, not anymore.
He doesn’t notice when the bedroom slowly opens, and nearly jumps out of his skin when Satoru appears beside the bed in a squat.
“You scared the shit out of me,” Geto whispers, checking to see if his movement bothered the girls. Thankfully it didn’t.
“Sorry, babe. Just coming to check on you guys. How are you feeling?” Satoru asks, bringing a hand up to caress Geto’s cheek.
Suguru unconsciously leans into the touch, “I’m… Do you want the truth?”
“Always.”
“I’m so tired, Satoru. I’m exhausted. It’s a feeling deep in my bones that I want to get rid of. I also feel so bad, and guilty about you guys having to sleep downstairs. I’m… I’ve been such a bad dad, and a terrible boyfriend. I’m trying my best, I really am, but it seems to never be enough. I'm not enough, Satoru, I’m not.”
And he’s finally crying.
This is what Satoru does. He’s able to make Suguru let out all of his thoughts and frustrations with a simple word. He lets Suguru cry and cry until there’s nothing left. He lets Suguru lean on him— heavily, sometimes— when he needs support. Suguru is so grateful for Satoru Gojo. He’s so understanding and caring that Suguru wants to marry him. He doesn’t want Gojo to leave his side.
But as he looks down at the twins with blurry eyes, that’s a different thing for a different day.
Satoru wraps his arms around Suguru, mindful of the girls. The man leans into Satoru, slightly shaking as he cries quietly. The last thing he wants to do is wake up the girls. They’re just as tired.
Gojo holds him like that for nearly twenty minutes. When Suguru is finally calm he still doesn’t let go.
“Can you listen to me for a sec?” Satoru asks quietly. He feels Suguru nods against him. “Listen well. I love you. I am so in love with Suguru it’s ridiculous. I’m obsessed with him. He is the strongest person I know, and I don’t only mean in terms of sorcery. You care so much for others, and I see it every day with the kids. You take care of us, Suguru, you do. But don’t forget I can take care of you, too. You are not a bad lover, especially not a bad dad. You gotta remember we’re still learning how to be parents. Give yourself some credit. Suguru, you are amazing. You are enough. I promise that you are. Suguru is the best.”
And if Geto was crying before, he’s downright sobbing now. He’s trying to muffle his noises, but it’s a little hard. Gojo holds him closer. His heart is breaking for his boyfriend. He is helping wherever he can with the new additions to their family. He’s supporting Suguru as much as possible. He’s helping the twins settle in, while simultaneously helping Tsumiki and Megumi get used to having two new siblings who are complete strangers to them.
On top of that, they still go on missions. They’re both working so hard, and it’s tough, but they have each other. They can make it through anything.
“…Because we’re the strongest.” Gojo whispers.
Suguru clutches onto him tighter, and through muffled tears he responds, “We’re the strongest.”
The next morning, Shoko appears at their front door. She drops her cigarette and stomps it out. “Give me the kids.”
Suguru looks confused as Mimiko holds onto him tighter, her small arms squeezing his neck. He adjusts her on his hip, saying “What are you talking about? I didn’t know you were coming.”
He moves aside to let her in, and she enters, taking her shoes off.
“Gojo texted me. Said you needed help. So, I’ll take Megumi and Tsumiki for a day.” Shoko explains as if she’s telling Geto the sky is blue.
Suguru is shaking his head. “No, it’s okay. I don’t want to bother you, Shoko.”
“Well, I’m already here, so it’s too late.”
She makes her way further into the house, and there’s a chorus of excited shouts of greetings.
“Who is that?” Mimiko asks quietly, clutching her torn up stuffed animal. She’s had it since Geto found them, and doesn’t let anyone touch it. Not even Nanako. Geto really wants to stitch it up and make it look better.
“That’s mine and Satoru’s best friend. Her name is Shoko, and she’s a doctor at Jujutsu Tech. If you ever get hurt, she can fix you right up. She’s the best doctor I know!” Suguru explains, pressing a kiss to Mimiko’s hair.
“She’s pretty.” Mimiko says.
Suguru smiles, “Indeed she is. Let’s go with the others.”
Mimiko has been his little shadow for the past two days. She’s always by his side, attached at the hip. Geto doesn’t mind it, though, it’s nice having a little buddy.
They find everyone in the kitchen. It seems Nanako has already been introduced, since she’s sucking on a lollipop while smiling widely at Shoko. Tsumiki and Megumi are clutching each of her legs, and Satoru is talking animatedly about god knows what.
“— And then it went boom!”
“I don’t appreciate you giving my kids candy at nine in the morning.” Suguru interrupts. Shoko has the decency to at least look a little guilty. He turns to his boyfriend and gives him a look. Satoru immediately looks away, whistling idly. Geto rolls his eyes. “I see you’ve met Nanako. This is Mimiko. Say hi, baby.”
Mimiko lifts her head from her papa’s neck, and shyly waves at Shoko. The doctor smiles sweetly, “Hello, sweetie. It’s a pleasure to meet you and your sister. Now, I’m just gonna take Megumi and Tsumiki for the day.”
“You are?” Tsumiki asks excitedly, milk dripping from her chin as she chews her cereal.
Shoko wipes it off with her thumb. “Don’t talk with your mouth full, but yes. Let’s go get you guys ready.”
Tsumiki and Megumi leap out of their chairs and race to their rooms upstairs. Shoko follows behind, albeit a bit slower. Nanako looks up at Gojo, “Can we go?”
Gojo pats her head. “They’re going to be doing boring stuff! Suguru and I have cool stuff planned for you guys today!”
“Really?” Mimiko asks, sitting up a bit in Geto’s arms.
“We sure do! So let’s finish up breakfast, okay?” Geto says, putting Mimiko back in her seat. Her cereal is soggy now, but she seems to not care.
Suguru and Satoru have noticed things like that lately. No one likes soggy cereal. But Nanako and Mimiko just let it be. Like they’re used to it. On their first night here, they were excited at the sight of pepperoni. Pepperoni.
The other day, Mimiko had dropped her popsicle on the carpet, and picked it up and just continued eating it. There was hair and fuzzy stuff all over it. Satoru said he would get her a new one, but she just shrugged and said it’s fine. Satoru convinced her a little more and was finally able to get a new one for her.
Satoru cried that night.
He couldn’t even fathom the thought of the twins being used to eating dirty food or anything like it. It pained both of them.
While the girls finished up, Suguru cleaned the kitchen. Shoko eventually came back downstairs with Megumi and Tsumiki in tow with their overnight bags packed. They gave their parents kisses and hugs goodbye and were soon out the door.
The twins finish up, and Satoru takes them upstairs for a bath. Today, they were taking the twins to Jujutsu Tech. They have a meeting with Yaga and then Gojo wants to start training them. They haven’t really shown what their techniques are, and Suguru isn’t sure if he’s grateful or not. Their powers could blast a hole through the wall or something, Suguru doesn’t know.
He finishes up the kitchen and straightens up anything else before going upstairs. He gets ready and then trades places with Gojo so the man could also get dressed. Once they were all ready, they left the house and began the short walk to school.
“Where are we going?” Nanako asks. She’s holding Gojo’s hand while Mimiko is holding Suguru’s.
“We’re going to school for a bit. We have a meeting with the principal. He wants to see how you guys are doing, and also tell us if you have any family.” Suguru explains.
Mimiko holds her bear tighter. “Family?”
“We don’t have any of that.” Nanako says, letting go of Satoru’s hand to pick some flowers on the side. She gives one to each of them, but places Mimiko’s in her hair. Her sister smiles.
Suguru and Satoru also place theirs into their own hair. Nanako smiles wide and does the same.
“Well, we don’t know that for sure.” Gojo says.
“Aren’t you guys our family?” Nanako asks.
“With Megumi and Tsumiki?” Mimiko adds on.
That makes Suguru stop in his steps. They had just reached the main staircase of the school. He’s quick to bend down to the girl’s height.
“Mimiko, Nanako. Do you mean that? You think of us as family?”
Satoru hears the seriousness in his voice, and squats down as well, placing a comforting hand on his boyfriend’s shoulder.
The girls look at each other, and then turn to the adults, both of them smiling wide. “Yeah!” They shout in unison.
“We feel safe with you.” Nanako throws herself into Gojo’s arms, the man catching her with ease. She’s so small, and cute.
“You saved us. We could have died.” Mimiko doesn’t throw herself like her sister, but presses against Suguru and he hugs her tightly.
Suguru is close to tears at this point. He knows Satoru feels the same despite his blindfold covering his eyes. The white haired man, who doesn’t know when to shut up, hasn’t said a word.
“And… And Tsumiki? And Megumi?” Suguru asks carefully, swallowing the lump in his throat.
“They’re so fun to play with! Tsumiki does our hair very pretty.”
“Megumi is so adorable when he pouts.”
Suguru chuckles as he lets the tears fall. “Yeah, he is adorable, huh?”
All three of them are suddenly pressed together in a huddle, Satoru’s long arms around them. Suguru laughs as he holds their daughters, and kisses the crown of their heads. He feels Satoru kiss his cheek, and turns around to give him a proper one.
The girls haven’t been in their care for long, but it’s so amazing that they feel this way. Suguru doesn’t even want to meet with Yaga anymore. He just wants to go home and cuddle with his kids . But alas, duty calls.
They all eventually calm down and make their way to Yaga’s office. The meeting is surprisingly quick. They have no records of the girls at all; not even birth certificates. Satoru tells him they’ll adopt them, and Yaga says he’ll help like he did with Megumi and Tsumiki. And that’s that.
They spend the next few hours training in the school’s outside field. Their techniques are really powerful and Suguru can’t wait to see how well they’ll fully wield their power. They return home and Suguru gets started on lunch. Satoru entertains the girls at the kitchen table with crayons and coloring books, teaching them how to stay inside the lines.
They eat lunch, and the girls seem sleepy after all they’ve done today. It’s only two in the afternoon so Suguru doesn’t think a nap would hurt. Satoru suggests they all have a nap and they pile into Suguru and Satoru’s bed. Suguru is grateful that Satoru had this idea. The kids don’t really take naps unless they feel the need to, so Suguru is up all day with them from morning to night. He doesn’t mind in the slightest, but he does get a bit tired.
Suguru sets an alarm because he knows they’ll end up sleeping too long. The twins aren’t biologically theirs, but they’re starting to pick up on their parents' habits. Namely, Satoru’s love for sleeping. The girls will sleep all day if you let them. They do sometimes get grumpy when they’re woken up, too. If it’s Gojo’s day off, you can find all three of them cuddled up together in bed until noon.
The rest of the day is spent playing with the girls and teaching them things that six year olds should already know. At one point, Suguru got a call from Yaga for an emergency mission, and nearly cried at the prospect of leaving his babies, even if it was only for a few hours. Satoru reassured him, and he left but not before showering his family in kisses. The mission was nearby thankfully, so Suguru made quick work of the curse, and absorbed it. It took only an hour.
When bedtime rolled around, the girls slept in the room with their parents. They were quick to knock out after a few snuggles and kisses. Mimiko is plastered to Suguru’s side, while Nanako is sleeping on top of Satoru’s chest.
“Do you think she’ll ever grow out of that?” Satoru whispers, gesturing to Mimiko. Suguru knows what he means.
Suguru shrugs, whispering back, “I don’t know. I hope she does, but it’s also kind of nice having a little buddy everywhere I go.”
Satoru chuckles quietly. “Even in the bathroom?”
“Yup. She sits outside and waits.”
They both giggle at their daughter’s behavior. They don’t know why Mimiko is so attached to Suguru, but that’s okay for now. They’ll figure it out later.
_________________________
The next morning, Shoko brings Tsumiki and Megumi home. They run straight into Suguru’s arms, causing Satoru to act like the drama queen that he is.
“What about me?! Dad wants a hug, too! Didn’t you miss me?” Satoru pouts at the kids. Nanako and Mimiko laugh from the side.
“Shoko says you’re weirder than we think! She said back in school you—“
“Okay! That’s enough! Whatever Shoko told you was probably a lie!” Gojo shouts while covering Megumi’s loud mouth. The kid can’t keep a secret to save his life.
Shoko shakes her head, “You know I never lie, Gojo. Am I right, Geto? Back me up here.”
“Oh, yeah, sure, Shoko.” Suguru says distractedly, giving each of the kids a quick snuggle and kisses. He loves his babies so much. They’re the cutest tiny humans ever.
Shoko rolls her eyes as Satoru laughs at her. She leaves shortly after saying goodbye. Now that the family is whole again, Satoru suggests a movie day. The kids agree and run to their rooms to gather all of their blankets and pillows to make a fort on the floor. Satoru grabs a blanket as well, and tosses it onto Suguru’s head. The man glares at Satoru, but it’s quickly wiped away with a kiss.
The rest of the day passes by smoothly. The kids took turns picking each movie, and although Suguru had to settle some arguments about it, it still turned out fine. Nighttime rolls around, and all the kids are asleep around eight. The credits for Encanto are rolling down the screen.
Satoru looks over at his boyfriend to find him asleep as well. He looks beautiful. His hair is falling out of his loose bun, and soft sounds are coming from his mouth like always. Satoru looks down at the kids to see they’re all tangled up: Nanako’s butt is in Tsumiki’s face, Mimiko’s foot is jabbed into Tsumiki’s back, and Megumi’s spiky hair is all over Nanako’s face.
Satoru feels his heart fill up with so much love and adoration for his family. He didn’t expect to have four kids by the age of twenty-four. Hell, neither of them did. But Satoru wouldn’t change a thing. He’s happy that things turned out this way.
Though, he feels like something is missing.
He looks back at Suguru, and it instantly clicks. He nudges the man with his foot, whispering, “Suguru! Baby, wake up.”
Geto, so attuned to having kids, wakes up quickly, “What’s wrong? Are you hurt?” He’s looking around for a child in need, and is confused when he doesn’t see one standing in front of him.
“Baby, it’s me, relax,” Satoru briefly explains. Geto looks at his boyfriend and his features soften.
“Sorry. Are you okay? Are you hurt?”
He’s so cute. Gojo quietly chuckles and shakes his head. “No, babe, I’m fine.”
“Then, why the hell did you wake me up?” Geto glares, preparing to go back to sleep since everyone is okay.
Satoru reaches over and grabs his wrist. “Wait, baby. I have a reason, duh.”
Geto rolls his eyes, “Hurry and tell me, then.”
“Okay, okay. I just wanted to ask will you marry me.”
“Yeah, whatever, Satoru. I’m tired.” Suguru closes his eyes as he pulls the blanket up to his shoulders.
And Gojo waits.
1… 2…3…
Geto’s eyes open wide and he sits up quickly. “What did you just say to me?!”
“There it is!” Gojo exclaims. “You already said yes, so—“
“Wait, wait, Satoru! I didn’t— I mean I wasn’t—“
“Oh,” Satoru visibly deflates at that. “You don’t want to marry me? That’s fine, I mean we’re still young, but like we can get married whenever. It doesn’t have to be now. But I would like to see a ring on your finger—“
“Gojo, shut up! I was trying to say I wasn’t expecting you to propose on a random ass Wednesday night! But now that I’m thinking about it, it’s so you. And I— Gosh, Satoru, I love you. I love you so damn much.” He crawls across the couch to close the gap between them. He slots himself in between Gojo’s legs and kisses him hard on the mouth.
Satoru holds him tight as the kiss deepens. His fingers tangle in Suguru’s hair, making his bun come loose. Suguru’s black hair drapes over his back, some strands falling into his face. Satoru pulls away, and tucks them behind his ear.
Suguru smiles at him, and Satoru feels like he falls more in love. “I love you more, baby. More than you’ll ever know.”
“Well, we’ve got the rest of our lives for you to tell me.”
“We sure do.”
They share another sweet kiss, which turns more hot. They decide to sneak off upstairs to get tangled in each other in their sheets, making love for several hours. It’s hot and it’s perfect, and they wouldn’t have it any other way. They’re going to spend the rest of their lives together with their four perfect kids.
