Peni finally got accepted to the Spider Society and was super excited. Noir had been telling her tales about the place.
The guy who was really tall and buff, she thinks his name is Miguel? Yeah, Miguel. He was usually quiet and when he wasn’t he was glaring at something . His AI is pretty cool. She was fun and bubbly.
Peni was currently getting a tour from the duo. She wonders where Miles is. He’s also a spider person and should also be a part of this Spider Society. If he was, Peni can’t wait to see him. Miles was one of her favourites, other than Noir of course.
As she looked around she caught a glimpse of these red cells, Peni was curious and decided to check it out herself.
She starts walking, determined to see why they are holding these people in cells. She stares at all the villains in the cells. This is inhumane. She can’t help but feel bad for these people. Her face is twisted into a frown, her eyes swiveling to the dozens of people in cells.
She walks until she reaches Miles. She almost didn’t recognize him. The teenager looks tired and older. His young face has changed into a more mature one. Miles looks messy, he has dark eye bags under his eyes, chapped lips and he’s skinnier than she remembers.
“M-Miles?” She stutters, not expecting to see the boy who saved one of her friends from dying in his multiverse. But saved them. Now, that same boy is in a jail cell. She stares at him with shock, her mouth opening and closing.
“Hi Peni.” Miles greets, his voice is hoarse and rough.
“Why are you in here?” She cries, her voice laced with worry and confusion.
Miles’ eyes flicker to look at Miguel who is talking to Gwen. He sighs, staring in silent sadness, anger and fear at Gwen and Miguel. His head turns back to face Peni.
“I’m guessing Miguel hasn’t told you..” Miles hums, his eyes moving towards the ground as he leans against the wall of the holding cell. “At least not yet.”
“But—“
Miles interrupts her, “—Shh. I’m not supposed to exist. You’re supposed to pretend like I'm not here.”
Peni’s breath hitches, salty tears fill her eyes.
“I’ll get you out, okay? I’ll get you out Miles.” She promises, her voice quivering
Miles just nods, a tired look in his eyes, “Okay, Peni.”
