Work Text:
“ I can’t believe I haven’t seen Sa-rang all day,” Won whispered as he loosened his tie, turning the lights on in his hotel room.
Being busy all day kept him from visiting King, The Land. That also meant he couldn’t see Sa-rang as he wished. It killed him not being able to see Sa-rang.
“Maybe she’s on night shift today?” He asked himself as he grabbed his phone to see the schedule for King, The Land staff members.
His eyes caught sight of the name that danced on his lips the whole day almost immediately.
Cheon Sa-rang.
Her name was there, but all alone. She was assigned the task of tending to all VIP guests. From what Won remembered, King, The Land had at least five more workers who could’ve been by her tonight, but they decided to leave her alone as if that made sense.
Seeing her name on that screen made him miss her again, so he took the leap and ordered a bottle of wine with a few macarons alongside it. He didn’t like sweets. But Sa-rang did.
“Who would put in an order for a bottle of wine and macarons this late at night?” Sa-rang thought to herself while she picked out a bottle of wine that’d suit the pack of macarons she got from the pantry, getting ready to deliver the VIP order.
“Room 4951,”
She repeated under her breath, searching for the hotel room.
Now faced with the big, wooden door, Sa-rang stood there clueless as to what to do.
Leave the order, and message the guest.
Ring the doorbell, and deliver it personally.
Knock the door, and deliver it personally.
It must’ve slipped Won’s mind due to the excitement of seeing Sa-rang after a long day.
“If the guest forgot to specify which method, you must pick the safest option, which is option number one. Leave the order, and message the guest.” Sa-rang recalled what her manager said on her first day working in King, The Land.
Carefully placing the order down, Sa-rang began walking away as she sent a message to guest number 4951, saying their order was delivered.
Almost down the hallway, Sa-rang heard a door creek open, followed by a voice calling out to her.
“Phony Cheon!” The voice yelled, and only one person would call her like that.
Gu Won.
“Head Manager?”
Won ran toward her, a smile forming upon seeing her.
“Why didn’t you ring the bell or knock?”
“You didn’t specify how you’d like to get your order, so I had to pick the safest option of the three,”
“Ahh, I must’ve forgotten. Sorry,” Won flashed her a smile, getting closer to tug at her wrist to convince her to come along.
“I really can’t. I’m the only one on night shift tonight,” She said, feeling down at rejecting his offer to hang out for even a little.
Not seeing him all day did make her sad, but she didn’t know why.
‘Do I like him?’ She asked herself several times throughout the day.
Seeing him now may have confirmed her suspicions.
‘I do like him,’ She told herself, enjoying the sight of Won smiling at her even though he said he hated smiling, loathing the fake smiles people flashed constantly.
So was his smile sincere or fake? Did he like her too, or was he just playing with her feelings, calling their hangouts a date?
Sa-rang didn’t care. Seeing him smile brought her joy. His sweet voice calling her over, telling her to share some macarons, made her get butterflies as if this were her first relationship.
Sa-rang knows she shouldn’t. She absolutely should not go in his room. But oddly, she couldn’t stop herself from following him.
It’s just a few macarons, right?
A few macarons turned into a few drinks, and the two ended up hanging out past midnight.
“Head Manager, I need to go. As I said, I’m the only one on the night shift. I can’t leave my post for too long, but it’s already been a few hours since I got here,”
“It’s fine. I’m sure no one ordered anything,” Won reassured her, pouring another glass of wine.
“I can’t. We can drink another time,” Sa-rang kindly rejected the drink and cleaned up a bit before taking her leave.
“I’ll be taking my leave now,” She bid her goodbye, walking toward the door, Won still on the couch, watching her leave.
Hand on the handle, she opened the door only for Won’s hand to grab ahold of hers and close the door back.
“Head Manager, what are you doing?” She asked, not turning back, sensing how close he was.
“Don’t go,” He whispered, voice desperate.
“I’m just simply going back to my post. We can hang out another time. I promise I won’t reject your offer then,”
“Still. Don’t leave. At least not tonight, ”
‘What is he saying?’ She thought to herself before turning around to face him, taken aback at how close he was.
“Sarang -ah,” He called out, her knees weak, his voice still ringing in her ears.
“Don’t let me fall in love alone. Please,” He begged, head falling onto her shoulder.
‘Wait,’ She froze. ‘Fall in love alone? He likes me?’ She asked herself.
But was it that hard to get? He only smiled at her and hung out with her. He went against regulations to save her after she got lost. He did all that for her, so why was it such a shock for her to think he liked her?
‘But wait. If we both like each other, there’s no reason for us not to be together,’
Cupping his face, Sa-rang lifted his head, “Won- ah,” She called out to him so sweetly and pulled him closer.
“You aren’t falling in love alone. Not when I’m in love with you too,”
Won’s eyebrows furrowed. He fully believed he’d get rejected, but he confessed anyway. But now that she admitted, he didn’t know what to do.
Sa-rang couldn’t hold back and pulled him into a short kiss, to which Won closed his eyes.
“Why so short?” He asked, breath fanning over her lips due to their proximity.
“Then you can just kiss me longer,” She replied, sucking a breath in, thanking god it was dark, or else he’d see how red she was right now.
“Your wish is my command,”
Won planted his lips on hers, arms wandering down her body to her waist as hers went up to wrap around his neck, slightly tugging at his hair, earning a low gasp from him.
Slowly making their way back into the room, Sa-rang helped Won pull his jacket off, immediately putting their hands back on each other, continuing to roam each other’s bodies.
As Sa-rang’s hands made their way to his shirt, Won’s hand ended up in her hair, tangled.
Giving each other open-mouthed kisses, Won took this as a chance to let his tongue slip in, a low moan heard right after.
Bumping into the bed, Won sat down, helping Sa-rang onto his lap as she slowly moved from his lips to his neck, planting soft kisses trailing further down.
Sa-rang pulled back, gasping for air as she raked her fingers through her hair, slowly pushing Won’s body onto the bed, straddling him.
“The night shift can wait,” She said breathlessly with a smile on her face, interlocking her lips with his again.
They were in for a long night.
