Chapter Text

Another day as a demon slayer began like any other for Muichiro. He faced off against what appeared to be a weak demon, a routine encounter in his line of work. But, as often happens, he underestimated his opponent. He believed the demon had yet to unlock its blood demon art. Muichiro's confidence took a turn, he became serious.

Suddenly, a gaping hole tore open the ground beneath him, swallowing him into darkness. Panic surged as his vision faded to black.

When Muichiro awoke, his senses were bombarded with foreign smells, sights, and sounds. The overwhelming chaos disoriented him. He struggled to remember who he was, where he came from, and what he was doing here. He felt lost without any recognition.

"Who am I?" he whispered to himself, his voice barely audible over the sensory onslaught. "I'm Tokito Muichiro, a demon slayer, and I use the Mist Breathing technique."

The mental exercise helped calm his racing heart, and he began to regain some semblance of composure. Slowly, he recollected a few more details about himself, though his memories remained fragmented. But it was a start.

Stepping out of the unfamiliar alley where he had mysteriously arrived, Muichiro was greeted by an astonishing sight. Before him stood a creature with unnatural, inhuman features, and massive wings sprouting from its human form. The creature's presence defied everything Muichiro knew about demons.

Instinctively, Muichiro reached for his sword, but the presence of numerous people nearby forced him to reconsider. He hesitated, his grip on the weapon weakening as questions swirled in his mind.

"How can a demon exist in the daylight?" he wondered aloud, his voice tinged with fear. "Is there a demon who's conquered the sun? No, that can't be right. The Demon King would have consumed such power. So, what is this strange creature?"

The bird-like figure seemed to sense Muichiro's gaze and turned toward him, offering a casual greeting. "Heya kiddo! You a fan?"

Muichiro remained silent, his gaze locked onto the bizarre creature. He couldn't fathom how something like this could exist. The creature chuckled awkwardly, scratching its neck, as if unsure how to react to Muichiro's silence.

"What's your name?" Muichiro finally managed to ask, his skepticism evident in his voice.

The creature's expression shifted to surprise. "You don't recognize me? I'm Hawks, the number three hero."

Muichiro's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "The 'number three hero'? What the hell is a hero?"

Hawks was taken aback by Muichiro's foul language. He struggled to understand how someone could be so unaware of heroes, especially the popular All Might.

"The people who protect citizens," Hawks explained, his voice tinged with disbelief. "Like Endeavor or All Might. You recognize those names?"

"What the hell are you talking about, you old geezer?" Muichiro responded, his eyebrows furrowing and head tilting in curiosity, his sword temporarily forgotten.

The concept of heroes was foreign to Muichiro, leaving Hawks in disbelief. He couldn't fathom how someone could be oblivious to the world of heroes.

"Well, do you need help finding your parents or something?" Hawks asked, eager to return to his hero duties.

"Kid?" Hawks was confused at the actions of the unknown child. Muichiro seemed to be in deep thought. Hawks took this opportunity to get back to his duties. When Hawks' attempted to walk away, he realized Muichiro's grip on his sleeve.

"Let go of me," Hawks protested, trying to break free, but Muichiro clung to him with surprising strength. No matter how hard Hawks pulled, the child wouldn't budge an inch.

Hawks couldn't fathom what to do with this strange, determined child who referred to him as a demon. He decided to comply with the child's apparent wish, albeit with some confusion.

"Fine, you wouldn't let go of my coat , and you didn't answer me," Hawks said, exasperated at this peculiar encounter. "Who are you?"

Muichiro appeared strangely calm, almost lost in his own world. Finally, he responded, “Where am I?"

Hawks sighed, "You’re in the middle of Kyushu, Japan. Do you have memory loss or something?" Hawks said jokingly

Muichiro thought for a moment and then nodded, "I think I remember a bug telling me I had am- amnesia?"

Hawks scratched his head, trying to make sense of the situation. "Well, while I have your attention, kid, do you know where your parents or guardian are so I can take you to them?"

"I don't think I've ever been here before," Muichiro replied, his panic hidden behind a calm exterior. "I don't even know how I got here."

Hawks considered his options, finally suggesting, "How about this? Tell me your name, and you can come to my agency building with me until we find your family or someone you know."

Muichiro appeared reluctant, but he eventually responded, "...Tokito Muichiro."

Hawks flashed a reassuring smile and tightened his grip, preparing to fly. "Alright, Tokito, let's go to my agency. I'll talk to some people I trust to help us figure out where you can go."

With that, they began their journey into the sky, this journey together is just beginning of many to come.
