    Black Sapphire offers the rings, his visible eye tearing up. Shadow Milk takes the ring with the blue gemstone and slides it onto the healer’s ring finger. Truthless takes the yellow gemstone and kisses it lightly before sliding it onto the Beast of Deceit’s finger.

     
    “Shadow Milk Cookie and Truthless Recluse have chosen rings to exchange with each other as a symbol of their unending love. By the authority vested in me, the Once Flour of Volition, by the Continent of Beast-Yeast, I now pronounce you Husband and Husband. You may now kiss the... Ahh, butch!” She fumbles that last bit, but both deceitful cookies take the hint and kiss.

     

    It tastes bittersweet- the cloying scent of blueberries upon the other’s lips, the rotten, alcoholic taste of fermented vanilla upon the healer’s. They love it though- And everything is amazing, cookies stand up, clapping and cheering, happy for these newlyweds.

     

    So of course, it was at that exact moment the Ancients arrived.

    Blood pools under the soles of his feet. He pays it no mind, intrigued by the strange door and the statue, desperate for an escape. As he pulls, he senses something watching him from behind.

    Pure Vanilla turns to look. There is an eye, carved into the wall and blinking at him. It stares into him as its pupil grows in length. He is unable to look away.

    The eye grows ever darker and ever wider, larger and larger until his vision is filled with its presence, until he is swallowed by it. The eye clicks and blinks around him, pushing him down its gullet, digesting him. On his way into the depths of it he feels his mind slipping from him. He tries to keep his thoughts intact but his soul gives a shudder and breaks free, leaving behind the core of his person. In his mind's eye he keeps seeing the indistinct image of that strange, serene Shadow Milk.

    Slowly, he is consumed by the darkness.

    Pure Vanilla watches, as the children are dropped over the edge of the spire. Shadow Milk laughs in delight, trapping him within the walls of his domain. Pure Vanilla can do nothing but stay until he looses himself, until he is consumed by the void of Shadow Milk's person.

    Nothing will ever compare to the beams, the looks of relief, the gratitude he gets to see after healing an injured cookie. Nothing will ever compare to being able to help people. Pure Vanilla is endlessly grateful to have been blessed with his light magic.

    When it comes to himself, it’s… different. Pure Vanilla has certain reservations.
