Breakout Star Dan Howell’s Viral Muffin Freakout Has Twitter Going “Check, Please!”

If you’ve been online this week, you’ve obviously seen the video of Dan Howell (who plays the loveable sidekick Tanner Daniels on Netflix UK’s original series Forever Young) at a local coffee shop with co-star and once-rumored possible BAE Ellie Hyunh.
If you haven’t seen it, just know that Howell and Hyunh arrived at said local coffee shop, with Howell looking particularly rough that morning, and asked for a pistachio muffin.
When the barista told him they were out, and the only one available was an old display one, Howell became very upset. Hyunh is seen in the video trying to pull him away, but at that point her co-star pulled away, loudly asking if there was one in the back. The barista tried to explain coffee shops didn’t work like that (hel-lo, out of touch celeb!) to which Howell fully broke down, shouting “I just wanted a f***ing pistachio muffin!” before storming out of the shop.
The video has since blown up on Twitter, and, needless to say, the internet has some thoughts…

#EffingPistachioMuffin was also trending for a few hours last night.
Hyunh’s representatives have commented on the situation, insisting that Howell and herself were never dating or even friends-they were just meeting to discuss business. And Howell’s representatives have claimed he’s been struggling with depression lately, which can lead to anger (Mental health is so important, btw: check out our article 5 Hottest Celebs Who’ve Struggled With The Sads (Number 3 Will Shock You!)) along with other symptoms.
Will Howell’s career survive this hit? Or will his sudden rise to fame crumble, not unlike that of a certain nut-based pastry?
