Starscream’s eyes fluttered closed as he rested his head on Skyfire’s feathery chest. Blankets surrounded them, and the credits were rolling. The Scientist was falling asleep halfway through the show, while the contestants were talking about how hard the the recipe was to bake.
“I think we should try and make that,” Skyfire said as he shifted back to his human form.
“Uh-huh,” Starscream said sleepily. As he curled closer to Skyfire, the wereowl laughed.
“You have no idea what they made,” Skyfire said as he pulled Starscream closer. Starsccream hummed and rubbed his face against his boyfriend’s soft chest. Everything was perfect in that moment. Just him and Skyfire, snuggling in a mound of blankets. It was perfect. Starscream had never felt that level of calm before; Skyfire had a way to relax him, to make him feel like the outside world could never worry him again.
“Do you want me to carry you to bed?” Skyfire asked as he played with Starscream’s hair.
“No,” Starscream groaned into Skyfire’s chest. “I wanna stay here.”
“Are we going to sleep on the couch?” Skyfire said with a soft laugh. Starscream just pulled Skyfire closer and hummed. Skyfire pulled the blanket around himself and Starscream. “Alright Star, we’ll sleep here tonight.” Closing his eyes, Skyfire shifted back into his owl form and cooed softly.
“Hey wake up!” Hot Rod yelled; Starscream shot up, eyes wide and heart racing. Skyfire was a little slower to wake up, but smiled at the little pup. Starscream wasn’t sure he would ever get used to the young werefox waking him up.
“Hello Hot Rod,” Skyfire said as he shifted back into his human form, “why are you here so early?”
“Dad’s going into town, he wants to know if you two need anything?” Hot Rod said, rocking back and forth on his heels, “like more baking supplies.”
“I’m good,” Skyfire said, “I got a lot of bulk items two weeks ago with Ratchet.”
“I have a list,” Starscream muttered darkly as he got out of the warm nest to grab the shopping list and money for Optimus that was on the counter. Starscream had put it into a white envelope, to keep everything in order. “Hurry and take it to your father.”
“Okay!” Hot Rod said excitedly. He ran outside, Arcee and Springer followed right behind him. Galvatron and Cyclonus glared at him before running after the other kids.
“They’re all going to go with Optimus on this shopping trip,” Starscream said, a huge grin spreading across his face.
“And you have no science projects that need working on today,” Skyfire said, with a bigger grin.
“Pancakes and Baking show marathon?” Starscream asked, even though he already knew the answer.
“Maybe we can try that new recipe,” Skyfire said as he got off the couch and over to his boyfriend, “the one with bacon sprinkled into the batter.”
“Yes,” Starscream purred as Skyfire pulled him closer, “I’ve been wanting to try that recipe for a while.” Skyfire smiled as he pulled Starscream into a kiss. The scientist melted as the kiss continued, knowing that today was going to be a good day.
