"Lan Zhan, give up, we both know that your genes are the dominants, they will look like you"
He denies "No, I can feel it, they will look like Wei Ying"
And so they go back and forth for nine long months. But finally, after all that waiting, the doctor comes with their baby wrapped in blankets. And when they remove them from his face, they finally discover that their A-yuan looks like…
"He carried you for 9 months, endured the back pain, swollen feet, nausea, lack of sleep... and you have the audacity to look like me?!" Wei Ying cries while Lan Zhan hugs his chubby A-yuan, completely and silently happy.
Over time certainly A-yuan's personality becomes more like Lan Zhan, but that only happens a long time later.
Then, the second baby comes.
Wei Ying is still very excited about this, now he is sure that they will look like his husband.
9 months later, everyone saw the spitting image of Wei Ying.
Now, he’s searching about genetics as Lan Zhan hugs his two chubby babies while they laugh.
The third is coming
"Third time's the charm, husband"
“I'd think you're cheering me up if you didn't look so smug”
Wei Ying has already given up, he's ready for a third baby running around the house like a maniac.
He can't help but smile; regardless of how they turn out, he loves them more than his life.
In fact, he gets quite excited. He even sent to stamp 4 polo shirts with the letters 'Wei Brand' in the center: one big, one smaller, one even smaller, and a mameluke.
"Hon, what do you think about kid leashes-?"
"Wei Ying, no."
And the thing is, on more than one occasion, his kids just ran so fast that they made him feel old. His husband had to catch them, and now they will have 3!
So, 9 months later, when their relatives came in to see the new member of the family, they found a Lan Zhan without a baby on the bed, and a Wei Ying laughing like crazy showing his baby.
And so, Wei Ying's little princess was born.
And he never stops showing her off to everyone at all times.
"Never lose faith," he says, as he handles his finally calm and beautiful baby. He can't wait for the little version of his husband to grow up.
Although, certainly the fact that she was so calm scared him on more than one occasion.
“Lan Zhan, the baby is not crying… Lan Zhan the baby is not crying, I think she choked!!”
He almost feels like in those commercials, where raising a little baby seems easy and happy, and not the biggest sleep deprivation you will ever experience.
He also cries tears of joy when the baby eats what he gives her without any issues.
